  3. JN, your edit button window should still be open.
  4. Friend needs bloodwork done: AGA IgA AGA IgG tTG IgA EMA IgA total IgA That's the first step. Some doctors only run tTG and total IgA.
  5. Um, Colleen, I think that you need to join the sillyville thread after THAT post. That's one of the funniest things I've read on this board in awhile (that is an open invitation to all members, as well).
  6. Dextrose is fine, unless it states it comes from wheat. Wheat dextrose, or dextrose (wheat).
  7. Nope, it doesn't, unfortunately. We learned that quickly this year. We just don't answer anymore.
  8. Thai Kitchen makes some noodle bowls (add water, heat) that are gluten-free.
  9. I think threads like this scare Scott.
  10. What type of cereal are you eating?
  11. Wheat, rye, barley, barley malt, and oats (unless a specialty gluten free oat) are off limits. Here is some help with label reading: Here are lists of companies that will clearly disclose any gluten source. If you don't see wheat/rye/barley/malt/oats on their labels, then its not hidden. Wheat is required to be listed as an allergen...
  12. It has oat flour - it is not gluten free. Not safe for a Celiac to eat.
  13. Ditto. You can also thicken it with some cornstarch or gluten-free flour.
  14. If she is IgA deficient, she won't be able to test positive on the IgA based Celiac blood tests. Here is information about the blood tests: Open Original Shared Link
  15. Guhlia: No More Cupcakes and Tummy Aches: A Story for Parents and Their Celiac Children to Share by Jax Peters Lowell
  16. Thanks for sharing this, patrice. Great to see research being done on Celiac.
  17. Doesn't really discuss milling, so to speak, but has an interesting analysis that might help you. Open Original Shared Link
  18. It has nothing to do with members - it has to do with companies using this board for spam and advertising. You are more than welcome to recommend any product you like. The edit window is open after you post to go back and make any changes, if by chance the board converts it.
  19. There are quite a few great flours out there (and, some not so great ones) and everyone has their own personal preference. After trying many, many, many flours - our hands down favorite is Better Batter Gluten Free Flour. It already has xanthan gum added, which is often added to gluten free recipes. website: Open Original Shared Link We use it one...
  20. You could go back for an endoscopy - to see if your villi damage has healed. If you had Marsh 3 damage, its pretty certain you have Celiac. I think it would be well worth it to seek another opinion, in order to determine the cause of your symptoms. It could be something else going on.
  21. 6. egg beaters liquid: gluten free
  22. Gene testing would be your son, correct. Genes are not affected (in terms of testing) by being gluten free or not. You either have none, one, or both. About 95%+ of those with Celiac have one or both of the genes.
  23. Your doctor can order the genetic tests for Celiac. Having the genes does NOT equal having Celiac. About 1/3 of the American population has one of the genes, but less than 1% of Americans have Celiac. You can ask your doctor to order: HLA DQ2 and HLA DQ8 You do not have to put your child back on gluten. Your doctor can want you to, but you don't...
  24. If you are looking for a personal "presence of gluten" tester - I'm pretty sure there is not one of any value.
  25. Hi Chrissy, Welcome to the board! I hope you'll find support and help here. It may be helpful for her to meet other Celiacs in your area, particularly kids. Here are some national groups that have branches across the country. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link https://www.celiac.com/articles/563/1/ROCK...
