ARCHIVED Toothpaste?
darlindeb25 replied to SeMeCl's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Crest and Colgate are both gluten free...I did read that Sensodyne can not verify their product is gluten-free, so they recommend we use another brand. I love Gleem, but am having a hard time finding it. -
ARCHIVED Miracle Whip Light Contain Gluten?
darlindeb25 replied to climbmtwhitney's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found this difficult to believe too, yet my sister, who is a celiac, and a dietician, called and asked, was told that Miracle Whip Light definitely contains gluten. She doesn't eat it, and I believe her when she says it contains gluten! -
ARCHIVED Xanax Contains Gluten
darlindeb25 replied to ENF's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Since the whole thing with Xanax happened, I do not trust Glutenfreedrugs.com. Pfizer's pharmicist told me on the phone, that Xanax has never been gluten free, nor has their generic made by Greenstone. What more do you want to hear??? I called Pfizer, they confirmed it IS NOT GLUTEN FREE!!!! The fillers probably contain gluten, besides the fact, I ALWAYS... -
ARCHIVED Miracle Whip Light Contain Gluten?
darlindeb25 replied to climbmtwhitney's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
On the other hand, Miracle Whip Light has never been gluten free, so I would not trust it. If you read in the forums, you will find it has always contained gluten. Kraft says it always tells you the ingredients...why do M&M's, Snickers, Oreo cookies (Nabisco is a division of Kraft), some Ritz Crackers...all contain melamine??? That's an ingredient... -
ARCHIVED How Much Damage From A Slip?
darlindeb25 replied to Spruey Stuey's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
No, one screw up does not put you back to the beginning. One screw up however, can make you sick for weeks. I have been gluten free for 8 yrs. This last January, I was glutened by a mediciation. That slip up made me sick for 3 months, and I lost 24#. Sometimes, a screw up only last a few days. -
ARCHIVED Ativan...gf Or Not?
darlindeb25 replied to mela14's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Well, for those who may be reading this and wanting an answer...each drup company has their own ingredients. The drug must be made in the original form, yet the fillers can always be different. If the company making say Ativan, says it is gluten free, that does not mean the generic is gluten-free. You must always call the particular lab that makes the... -
ARCHIVED Falling Into Temptation.
darlindeb25 replied to SeMeCl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think it's a mindset, and only you can make it happen. I have been gluten-free now for over 8 yrs, and from the minute I decided to go gluten-free, I never cheated. I was so sick, for so long, I just wanted my life back, and if not eating gluten was going to give it back to me, then I made my mind up--NO MORE GLUTEN!!! At that time, I still had gluten... -
ARCHIVED What Stood Out As "odd" To You?
darlindeb25 replied to mslee's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
My son asked me a few months ago if my giving him a DQ1 gene is why he has this very problem. He never had a problem with beer until the last year or so, now he gets a terrible headache after 1 beer too. I never wanted to share gluten intolerance with my kids! -
ARCHIVED Help! Can Probiotics Cause Severe Stomach Cramps?
darlindeb25 replied to climbmtwhitney's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I can't take probiotics, and I don't believe in this "kill off" stuff. I think some of us just can't take them, and that's that. -
ARCHIVED So, Did You Hear About M&m's, Snickers, And Oreos
darlindeb25 replied to darlindeb25's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Larry...M&M's and SNickers are gluten free..don't worry about that part! Not sure why that site says it is expired, it's till there. Here's the link, and what it says: Open Original Shared Link -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Ever Been To The Celiac Center In Ny?
darlindeb25 replied to dreamindarlin's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I haven't been to Columbia, yet I know many who have been there. In my support group, we have several members who have been to Dr. Green. I also have talked with Dr. Green on many occasions. I can tell you, they do not accept too many insurance's and the first visit with him is $500. Most say he is worth every penny, yet some of us do not have that... -
ARCHIVED So, Did You Hear About M&m's, Snickers, And Oreos
darlindeb25 posted a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I know it's a huge link. It's from news telling us all about dairy products tainted with melamine. Remember when the whole issue about the pet food came out? This is the same chemical that was in the pet food. First they were only talking about baby formula's, now it seems this melamine may be in many, many products that contain milk of some sort, especially... -
ARCHIVED Poignent Commentary On The Current Economic Goings On
darlindeb25 replied to Jestgar's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
WAMU has moved onto Long Island too. They are everywhere now here. On the news this morning, they told us that as far as the everyday customer is concerned, they will not even notice a change in WAMU. -
ARCHIVED Soy Flour
darlindeb25 replied to nitu-752002's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Absolutely. If she cannot tolerate soy milk, do not give her anything else soy. One exception is soy lecithin, it doesn't seem to bother most who are soy free. I cannot have soy, yet tolerate lecithin. -
ARCHIVED Help! :(
darlindeb25 replied to Lesley-x's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
When you first go gluten free, sometimes you will have bad days. Your body is ridding itself of gluten toxins. The wine could have been the culprit, possibly the mustard powder or white pepper might have had flour in them, some spices do. You need to research those products individually. It's a learning experience going gluten free, and can be very... -

ARCHIVED Are Pantene Shampoos & Conditioners Gluten Free?
darlindeb25 replied to MrsGlutenFree's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
All are gluten free, except for the ones for specific colors--brunette, redheads, and for blondes: all contain gluten. I use Pantene all the time, have for probably 6 yrs now..........! -
I thought the same thing...if you have only given up bread, then you are not gluten free. We are all here to help and will answer questions for you, any time you need. One of my sons also has extreme anger, and has even been court issued anger management classes. He has a heart of gold, yet can fly off the handle with very little aggravation. He is...

ARCHIVED Need Help - Positive Blood Work, Negative Gene Test
darlindeb25 replied to gfwarrior's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I think, with time, we will find this statement is incorrect. I think it's time to do a study of diagnosed celiac's who never had a gene test, and actually find out how many have genes suspected of never causing celiac disease. I have double DQ1 genes, which I found out about in July, I have been gluten-free for 8 yrs. My sister is a diagnosed celiac...
