  3. Not saying. Everything looks pitiful after whatever love2travel is having Just joking!! Haven't decided yet only just got back in the house after drain problems. Any time you want to pop by though ...
  4. I like sweet potato cold. I just do it in the microwave, let it cool then peel it and put in in fork sized chunks. Goes great with chicken too. Have a good trip
  5. Hiya, welcome Come on in, ask lots of questions. Good simple foods work well for many people, meat fish veg fruit. Come and shout if you need to as well Good luck
  6. I had mine in October and it was fine. I was panicking beforehand. Make sure you have someone to take you home, some people are a bit spacy after, try and have a quiet time after. Good luck, let us know how it goes
  7. Yes. Thanks. Always it is
  8. OP I hope you can see people want to help. We were scared for you. It is great you have decided never to eat gluten again. I lost my job and am now to sick to work. Our income is a third what it used to be. I had to move house because of it to a new cheaper town. I have picked up loads of tips on money saving here. I hope you can stay on the board...
  9. I'm sorry this hit you so hard. Reading your posts it really seemed you weren't getting it. I think we (I) wanted you to have the chance of stopping short of some of the rubbish we went through. We have been where you are too. I am SO glad you really really get it now. I hope you find you can stick around. I have been at it about as long as you....
  10. Hugs Colleen I only just heard your full story. Thank you so much for taking time to come here and help us folks out Mw x
  11. Funny, I was going to say something similar after looking back over your posts. You seem to be finding it tremendously hard to accept your diagnosis, or the good advice here. Is it possible you need some one to one support to get your head round the changes you need to make? Maybe the diagnosis has brought up some other stuff you need help with. I...
  12. In the UK diagnosed celiacs get a certain amount of gluten-free food on prescription. Though some areas are cutting it down or out. Austerity and all that. I am really interested in the position in Italy with regard to testing children, not least because I have just had a letter. From my GI to advise that my children should not be tested unless they show...
  13. We do this for my son who is nut rather than gluten-free (so far, another story) and we just make sure it is something he thinks of as a treat (frosting, candy pieces etc). Been doing it a couple of years and always been fine, with an occasional sad look. I also take a few chocolate and candy treats in my purse to swap if there are prizes etc. My...
  14. Shadow Sorry to hear about your professor. I hope you get to go to the service, I think that sort of thing is really helpful. ((((((Hugs)))))) Mw
  15. Great advice, you sound like the most amazing supportive and clued in person. The only thing I would add is to take care of yourself too
  16. I am going to agree with Peter and bow out of this one
  17. I have no idea if she can fulfil her contract. I guess maybe I think it is good for people to back her up but not good when people attack her without knowing the facts. I hate to see people attacked, especially if they have a cr**y disease which is different for all of us.
  18. Glad you worked out no cheating. Come on in and talk, get advice on ALWAYS having food to hand. I am not saying it is easy, but it gets easier PS - ALWAYS!!!
  19. Whatever the details, the problem I see is people judging what another celiac can or can't do with their own particular health issues. The details with CBS and Jennifer are between them, unless they choose to share. How would you feel if the world was wading about in your business while you were in a bad phase of this 'difficult' (understatement) disease...
  20. Me too. When I read some of the stories here I am so grateful for my own improving health and that I caught it when I did. I am a full time Mum now, but I am terrified at the prospect of working again. I could probably do 20 hours most weeks, but not on regular hours. The thought that if I was in the public eye my fellow celiacs would attack me is dreadful...
  21. Hopefully it will be a bit less lonely if you come and hang out here Hope you are starting to see a way forward. I had over 20 years undiagnosed and have small kids. It really is getting better for me now. Wishing you the best for the next stage of the journey
  22. New Kyng tharm loses his horn? The papers where I live would have a field day with that. Move over Prince Harry, Vegas has nothing on this story. Might I suggest sending Scaart back to look for it? I hope I have not yet(i) exceeded my humble serfy remit your madj
