Welcome to the board Blackwolf
I just sent you a PM.

Select the Recipe Forum, type your recipe and it will make it's way through the current posts and then it will find it's way to the Recipe Forum.
Edit: I'm sorry, I misunderstood your question. What newssletter are you refering to?

LOL! It's going to be like my American Express - NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!!!
Never leave home without it and...uh, could you buy three more?

I do what I can
Seriously, the pizza and the french bread were/are amazing. I am going to make French Toast with the Challah bread this weekend
And what time is dinner? or breakfast?
-
Wow! It is so funny that others miss these too. I used to order the sandwich and then I'd make them give me a cup full of tarter sauce for dipping. I didn't eat them often, but when I did I made sure that I got an entire days worth of calories all in one sandwich.
Man, were they good!
Ah huh! Sometimes there are just not substitutes. But, at least my brain now works in progressive order. I still want one of those darn things.
But the satisfaction is momentary and weigh the risk.

Aw, that one's easy, at least for me: 1) It reminds us of our childhood and all the wretched food that we ate with starlit eyes 2) Coworker has been baking them up regularly for the last couple of weeks in the toaster oven that wafts religiously into my office and 3) It makes the food that we regularly eat taste that much better, after we get over that sugar addiction all over again.
Pop-tarts, still uggg. I guess that I am among the lucky ones. I never liked bread, pasta nor beer. Pasta tasted like glue. As a child in the 60's, you could not get a pop-tart passed my lips. It was hard, crusty, dry with little fruit flavor. I do think that something like Toaster Streudel (sp) is more appealing. Similar the the first TV dinner that Swanson first came out with now we have all these gourmet frozen entres. I do think that I am aging out of this conversation.
I do hope that others enjoy the refined recipe.
, but will pass.

I just accidentally glutened both kids. What can I do real quick to avoid a lot of bad reactions to this???
Thanks.
I'm sorry. but once the autoimune reactions kicks in there is nothing much you can do. Immodium can help with the bathroom issues and water can help flush out the system. I have found that it just needs to run it's course.
Please don't fee bad. It's a long learning process and it is inevitable that things will happen, especially with children who are not in your care all day. Things are going to happen as careful as we intend to be. Chalk it up to experience and move on, because that's the only things that you can do.
You sound like a very good parent.

Cheating on Croutons
Hmm... I'd go for the fried chicken at Chicken Kitchen, where everything is deep, dunked and fried, and of course, the long missed McD's Fish Sandwich with cheese.
(
I'll go away now.)

Thanks for the drool all over my keyboard
Sounds wonderful.

Hi everyone,
I have been gluten free for 10 days and have experienced no change in my symptoms of consistent dull nausea in my upper stomach and eczema on my inner elbows. I have been struggling with this for almost a year and a half and am about out of options (having had almost every medical test imagineable with negative results). I did have about a 3 month repreieve where I found my symptoms dissapeared as long as I did not eat chicken. Although it make no difference anymore, I cannot help but think that chicken may be involved in some way... anyone have any ideas?
I typically feel better in the morning and the nausea begins around late morning/afternoon or right after lunch. Since I haven't noticed that it makes any difference what I eat, do you think it's possible that my stomach is just sensitive to all food? Due to the eczema especially, I have this strong hunch I am intolerant so some food, just have yet to figure out what it is.
I am really sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Thanks so much for all your input.
I am sorry that you are not feeling better, but 10 days is a relatively short period of time. After I was diagnosed, it took about 2 months so feel significant improvements. Early into the diet, many people have a problem with dairy and it is suggested to limit or eliminate it from your diet for a while.
Double check everything you are doing. Keep a food journal. Check you lotions, mouthwash, shampoo, shave cream, medications, antacides, vitamines, etc.

Wow...with your family history, I would certainly suspect Celiac.
Many people here are self-diagnoed and feel very comfortable with that decision. If you have insurance concerns, simple go gluten free without an official diagnosis.
If you are unsure if you can be diligent about the diet, I'll go get JerryK and he can talk to you.
(JerryK was our resident doubter, fortunately no longer).
Life is full of choices.
I'm sure others will offer their opinion.

Welcome to the Board
If it were me, I would take her off gluten entirely and see if she has a positive dietary response. No doctor needed for that. Although, if you choose to pursue testing, in order for the test to be accurate (as they are not always reliable) she must continue to eat gluten.
Many people here are self-diagnosed and feel very comfortable with that choice.
Celiac disease has over 200 symptoms and your daughter certainly has several.
This site if full of wonderful information regarding celia. Learn as much as you can.
I hope you find a solution soon.

Angie, I am sorry that you are feeling bad. I think that you just have to ride it out babe. Hopefully, it won't be a long run..
Hope you feel better soon.
Hugs to you, Lisa

I just signed up at this site because I am lost. I recently recieved a Celiac diagnosis. I have had hypoglycemia all along but it was not an issue when on non-celiac diet. Now it is a huge issue. I can't tolerate dairy either. I'M STARVING! I am seeing a dietician...she's helped a bunch! but no menu plans...I'm tired of tuna and peanut butter every single day..Any suggestiong for the snacks part of a hypoglycemic/celiac/non-dairy diet....I eat tofu too. Thankful for any reply! Pamela
Well, I guess you have been found!
And no longer lost. How about chicken, beef, pork, seafood, rice, potatoes, fresh veggies, ftuit, peanuts, almonds. In the beginning, thing natural foods, as in non-processed.
To spice up your meals, all Mrs. Dash's are gluten free and most McCormicks Grinders are gluten free. So spice up your life and enjoy food again.
If you have Celiac, don't "just sign up to this site", become a part of it. It will change your life, I can assure it. If you want to know about Celica, the information is here.
Welcome Pamela and hang here and read from some of the posts. You are not alone here.

Hello, hello. As of late, my capillaries have been bursting. They're not the usual violent red but just a very very very faint dried-blood color. I can't figure why they are bursting, because I'm pretty sure I'm not taking in gluten. and if I was then my face would covered the violent red spots and not these faint ones. Can your capillaries burst just from extreme stress? I'm dealing with that quite a bit and that's the only thing I can think of that could cause them to burst.
Thanks guys
-Ash
Ash, this might be something that you might need to see a doctor about that. Maybe it could be a blood pressure thing. Call your doctor anyways.

T-Bird, I hope that you husband is feeling better.
I just had a recent glutening and I usually do not get the sharp pain associated with gluten, but I did this time.
I took Pepsid Maximun Strength. I wrote the company and found that Pepsid-Reguar Tablets and Pepsid-Regular Complete Tablets are gluten free.....No mention of Pepsid Max Strength.
Just thought that I would pass that on.
Prilosec generally works well for me.
-
Jason,
I would just stick to the gluten free diet for now. That's hard enough to figure out by itself.
-
Sorry you're feeling bad. My thought might be Annie Balsamic Dressing. Some of Annies are gluten free, but many are not. I don't have it in may house and I love Balsamic Dressing, which makes me think that it may not be gluten free.
Can you list the ingrediences?

Amanda:
I have to admit that I did not read your entire post. Can't do it. I have a 19 year old friend (cat) sleeping in my laundry basket as we speak. If she survives the night.......
-
Don't know much about it. But a couple of peeps here have tried it.
-
Thanks for posting that Sarah. I'm sure that it will help lots of people.

Carrie:
I'll try ----
B & M Baked Beans
Bushes Baked Beans
Underwood Deviled Ham Spread
Hormel Chilli
Hormel Canned Corn Beef
Dinty Moore Beef Stew
Dole Fruit Cups
Some Thai Instants Soups - add water and zap
Dorrito's - White Cheddar
Lay's Staxx
Jif Peanut Butter w/bananas.. yum
Smucker's Jellies
Jello
Most Canned Fruit
Hormel Pepperoni
Sweet Potatoes, Baking Potatoes - zap them babies
Newmans Salsas
Vienna Sausages (I think?)
Lot of Fresh Fruit
Idaho Potato Flakes
LeSuer Baby Peas
Delmonte Canned Corn
All V-8 Products, including Splash
This is from memory and recent consumption. I am sure that there are many many more. Canned veggies and fruits are less likely to contain gluten than other prepared foods, as you know.
Hope that helps. I am curious where you are going. PM me if you would like.

Aw comon! Someone must have some suggestions!!!
Unfortunately you nor I live in Canada. I know of no free medical care unless you are a welfare recipient. I would contact your local health department and ask them what options you have.
Regarding testing. Request a full Celiac Panel and what they used to call an "executive panel". It is a blood test to check for deficiencies or irregularities.

This is actually a good questions. Sometimes we do, but we don't ask why.
gfp....this is a good one for you to answer.
That is if you can "dumb it down at bit", at least for me....

Yum... now that's a heck of a lot better than a pop-tart
