OMG: I have been out of town all day. I want to wish the most sincere happy wishes to Ann on her birthday today.
May you have a very merry one with your family.

I see no reason what so ever for you to cook two separate dinners. I serve gluten free meals daily and I get nothing but "gosh this is great".
It is so easy to swap out a few ingredients and make the same dinner. There is an endless list of gluten free recipies on this site that can be researched.
There is no need to eat with less gusto cooking gluten free.
In answer to your question, gluten cannot be absorbed through the skin, but by touching I would recommend that you wash you hands immediatly after.
Liberate yourself and cook one dinner.

Danny, welcome.
You need to remember that it took some time to do some damage to your intestines and like-wise, it will take some time to heal. You may continue to have symptoms because the gluten free diet is not an immediate fix.
Make sure that you check you toiletries, shampoos, lotions, lip balm or ANYTHING that can get into your mouth. Gluten can hide everywhere.
I would recommend that you be diary light, if not off all dairy in the beginning. If you have villi damage dairy can cause the same symptoms as gluten, without the intestinal damage.
I have found that the best source of gluten free and related issues answers are here on this site. This is where the experts are. Always feel free to ask away.

Yes, by all means freeze. The unfrozen life is very short. Take some out a short while before you want to use it.

Let's keep this current.

Gluten Side Winder...it catches you on the side.

WEll, you can go "GREEN" and buy all the recognized employees an azalea or hydrangea plant, or small office plant.
Do a recognition letter on the computer and frame it for their office.
As mentioned, a celebration office party. With a public appreciation from the Boss.
Acknowledgement in the local paper.
Gift Certificates (could be a little pricey)
A paid day off, of choice.

I'm a professor at Virginia Tech, and it's just horrible. We were on lockdown and were evacuated after noon. My prayers go out to the students and their families; the feeling here is just awful right now. It's indescribable.
Julie:
I cannot imagine how terrifying it must have been. I hope all your colleagues are safe as well. I wish that I could say something to you that would give you some comfort...but I am wordless.
I went to college very near Lexington. It's such a beautiful place in this world.
I do wish you some peace and comfort.

here it is.

Kimberly:
I sometimes forget what thread I posted on. It may have been rotated to that thread.
If you posted on "Coping" Thread, go to that and see if it is there. Sometimes on a busy day with new topics, a thread can move down the list pretty quickly. I am sure it's here, where is the question.

Today's tragedy is unimaginable. Let's keep the students and parents in our thoughts as this tragic event unfolds. Send them your prayers.

It's not McCormicks. The ingredients are sweet red pepper, sea salt, dehydrated onion, chipotle pepper & other spices, dehydrated garlic, sugar, extracts of paprika. I checked on the Delphi site and the grinders are not listed. Thanks
Well, then it looks like your good for go.
Reading the ingredients is a key. They do change so be aware.
I use Mrs. Dash often and all are gluten free but I always look.
-
Grinder are a good option especially if they are McCormicks , but no one can tell you if they are gluten free unless you list the ingredience.

Don't just assume that they're blowing you off - you're in somewhat controversial territory with the subject matter, and their customer support is designed to help the general public. If they can't help you, it may well be best to avoid their products, but it may be somewhere between ignorance and disagreement, rather than conspiracy.
(yes, yes, I'm exaggerating.
)
Totally in agreement.

Sorry you are feeling so poorly. Back to basics for you until you feel better.

Celiacs do seem to think alike. We posted at the same time, but I type slower.

Jenny:
I am sorry about your sons surgery. I hope that all goes well for you and your son.
Regarding your food, I would recommend that you talk to the director of Nursing and explain your diet restrictions and Celiac Disease.
I would think that the hospital could accommodate you with access to a microwave or a small space in a refrigerator at the nursing stations.
If that is possible, you can bring some homemade soup or some frozen entrees that you can prepare at home ahead of time.
Amanda suggested some sandwiches, fruit, gluten free eggos, Thai soups, gluten free biscuits with egg and bacon. When I travel, I always bring some sweet potatos, bananas and jiff individual peanut butter. Some of Amy's frozen meals are gluten free as well. Canned Carnation Instant breakfast (except for the malt chocolate) would work.
I really do think that the hospital will be helpful.

Welcome to the Club Hannah!

Nancy:
I have no issues with Seagrams 7 & 7-up, and throw an orange slice in there too.
-
Oh my gosh....it is my time for peace and contentment.. I guess this is a throw- back from when my girls were little and hubby was away three/fours day out of the week. Pre-celiac No body bothers you in the bathroom.!! They call out your name and you call back "I'm in the bathroom!".... ok, I'll talk to you later... and it is never very important anyways. (they proceed on and issue over)
Magazines...oh yeah, I can stall as long as I like.... I have an excuse now and relish in my privacy.

Yes, lotions can have gluten ingredients. I tend to use Dove products and Lubriderm (without oats).
-
I know that all Gatoraid products are gluten free to include Propel - all flavors. (at last check, which was recent).

Ryan:
I am sure that you are worried. I am not a doctor and don't want to advise. I would certainly go back to the doctor on Monday. Give her nothing but bananas, rice, apple sauce and tea. It is called the BRAT diet. They are nonoffenders to the GI track.
If the bleeding is red in color, it indicates that the problem is near the bowel. Dark black stools indicate that the problem is must higher in the digestive track.
I know that you have been taking care of Alex, but are you taking care of yourself as well.
