I use Dove and Pantene with no issue. Crest is also gluten free. Crest Whiteing Strips are gluten free.

When I go out and I know that there will be food there prepared by someone else I just eat before I go. Some bring their own food
You can politily explain the you have several food allergies. Most people are understanding.
When we get invited out to someones home for dinner, most people know that I have celiac and I always offer to bring a dish that I know I can eat, if nothing else is suitable.

The best BBQ sauce that I have tried is "Sweet Baby Ray's"....it is soooo good.

Have a wonderful celebration.

Rachel:
I don't know who you are addressing. But, I will answer as if:
I had the endoscopy and biopsy, both indicated celiac. I talked to a NP for a five minute follow-up. She said, yup you have Celaic. My PP, who sent me, never called and it has been a year and half. No one told me anything.
In the interim, found celiac.com. and taught myself.
Two months later, new DR. of choice, tested for celiac (two months gluten free, ah yeah, Neg.). He suggested Lexapro, as my blood test was negative. He asked ME questions about celiac.
I will follow up with my original doctor in a month or so and review my blood work. But, I will go prepared.
Yeah, a little angry here, ya prolly soo.

I can relate. We are getting a Farm Fresh in the spring in po-dunk NC. Going to the existing one a half hour away, is one of my biggest adventures.
...."You know your Celiac, if....")
Perhaps, it's time to run celiac3270's thread again?

the worst part is the anticipation........the rest is a piece of cake (gluten free).
Drinking that crap, or swallowing 24 pills is pretty bad, but that's the worst.
You will be fine, but make sure you take someone with you. I did not remember a thing when I came out from under. I had to ask my husband four times what the doctor said.
It's easier than going to the dentist, if you can relate.

Sorry Robin:
Don't know what to tell you, other than perhaps flavors. It is soo frustrating.

What is the high WBC connection? I have DH and high WBC consistently (not sure if still do, but did for a long time).
Wow, you're asking the wrong person. I am just beginning to learn.
This is the best that I know now. When your gut is porous, molecules seep out, by- passing your liver which cleanses the toxins in your system. It seeps into the blood stream and your body fights the toxins. Resulting in a high WBC. And those toxins can effect other parts of your body.
I may or not be correct. I will continue to explore this, but...... Please leave this for Nancy and Rachel.
They are so much more informed than I.

Nancy and Rachel:
I have been reading about Leaky Gut all afternoon. Perhaps that may explain why, when tested, my white blood count was up and liver enzymes as well. My energy level just isn't what it should be. And I am still under that fog.
This is facinating stuff. You both have gained so much knowledge. Thank you for taking the time to post this information.
A light bulb moment for me!

yes or no.
mcdonalds fries - made in a deticated frier.....gluten free or not.
can it be that simple or no!?
Simple, oh , not here, but have eaten with no issues.

This would help me also.
I normally scan the board when my husband is working away and I find myself wide awake at ludicrous times. Although I

Yes, I do agree. Try the diet. It is a more health alternative than others. Although, it needs to be 100%.
Give it a try for three months and see what happened. What can you loose.
A member here, "Nini" has "Newbie Beginners Survival Kit" that you may feel useful. Find her name, under members list and click under her name.
It is a wealth of information.

Everyone reacts differently and would strongly refer to a medical consultation.

I just wanted to add the the water will move the gluten through her system more quickly, and to fend off some hydration with diareah, but it won't stop the autoimmune reaction. That most like is already in place.
Hang in there and hugs.

Thank you for posting this. This is, for me, the most difficult areas of going gluten free. What a challenge????

Maker sure that you are checking your shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste, mouth wash, lipsticks (gender related), or anything that can get into your mouth.
-
Let me know when you are going. I have a wonderful restaurant guide and perhaps one listed might be available to you.

PLEASE don't be so hard on yourself. I have said before, that I have the utmost respect for mothers of cleliac children. It is hard enough to deal with the diet as an adult. I know that your burden is greater.
Let today be over, consider it a lesson learned and go forward. You are doing a wonderful job and a few mishaps are to be expected. Give her alot of water to flush the gluten. And hug and kiss her goodnight.....and do the same for yourself. You are a wonderful mother.

I would very politely request something of the posters here
When reading a lengthy post, I find it difficult to consume so much information in one solid form. My eyes cross
There is so much information and many requests, that I seem to miss so much.
I think for many, as well for myself, if the posters could break up their posts in several paragraphs, it can be more easily deciphered and questions would be more readily answered.
Thanks, I am sure that this will help others as well.

Regarding Gluten Guard, please remember that companies frequently change their ingredients. Relying on information for too long may not be wise.
I found the best reliable information that I have found is learning to read labels and contacting companies frequently.

I can tell which lever in my car opens the gas cap and which one opens the trunk without having to stare at the little pictures for a long time and try to figure it out.
That's a good one and I can relate. The dark circles are going away and all my friends are telling me how much better I look. Ah...no one mentioned anything when I apparently looked like crap.

Stu:
I just want to remind you that if you are considering testing for Celiac, you MUST continue to eat gluten, otherwise your tests will not be accurate.

Touching things containing gluten can not hurt you. Putting you fingers in or around your mouth after you have played-fed-cleaned the rabbit can.
Gluten must be ingested. Some also react to flour dust in the air.
