  1. You might want to contact Lipton (Unilevel) and request information regarding the source of the Yeast Extract. Yeast is not an ingredient that I am often concerned about.
  2. Hum, I lost a post Lipton is an Unilevel Company and their policy is to clearly list all forms of gluten. It is the only one of their dry soups and mixes that is gluten free. It should be gluten free Jillian, as it lists no gluten. I use it all the time in my beef stew.
  3. Lipton Onion Soup and Dip Mix is listed as gluten free in Cecelia's Grocery Shopping Guide 2009-10 Edition. I use it frequently in my beef stew. Guess with conflicting information, we should contact the company, just to make sure. Ah Ha.... Lipton's is an Unilevel Company and their policy is to always list all forms of gluten as in wheat...
  4. A "short course" of prilosec should cause you no concern. Long term use of antacids can reduce the absorption of B-12. Weigh the odds Jason. It might make you feel better.
  5. Hi Momma and Welcome! I always marvel at the strength of mothers, when their children have special diet needs. We have many moms who will share their experience with you. How long has your family been totally gluten free? Do your or the father, or grandparents have digestive issues? Twenty percent of first degree relatives can develop Celiac Disease...
  6. How deep do you have to go, to solve the meaning of life, if one lives in a garbage can? I'd say, it's pretty damn simple...eat, sleep and "Grouch" at everyone around you.
  7. Welcome! After being sick for over six years and you have seen a dramatic improvement in your health, it should stand to reason, that a gluten free diet is what you body is trying to tell you. Good health is always a commitment, whether diagnosed with Celiac or not. It IS evident that you either have a gluten intolerance or Celiac Disease. If you...

OK! This old dog is slow to change. What do you think?
  11. HOGWASH! Join anyway.
  12. Welcome! Try the diet and see if you find relief. But you need to be strictly gluten free 100%. This forum will guide you on your way. And you are in good company, as most here have been misdiagnosed or have searched many years for a solution.
  13. Open Original Shared Link wheat-based glucose syrups Based on the FDA proposed gluten-free labeling regulation a product can be derived from a gluten-containing grain such as wheat based glucose syrup and be labeled gluten-free yet the ingredients could say glucose syrup (wheat) provided it is under 20 parts per million (ppm). This will be very confusing...
  14. Dave has some great stuff on his personal profile page. Let's go check it out. The answer is here somewhere....I promise: Open Original Shared Link
  15. Is glucose one of those ingredients that is sooo processeed, that it's rendered gluten free (or safe enough to consume)? I vaguely, recall IrishDave posting information regarding that. Running out, but will check later.

  17. If I'm not wrong, all of Smithfield's products are gluten free. They are a great company.
  18. I don't know where you live but, the Celiac Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA is enrolling participants in a study to evaluate the type of symptoms that occur in celiac disease and to look at how living with Celiac Disease affects peoples lives. You can contact them at: celiac@bidmc.harvard.edu
  19. Well, you could contact the Columbia Celiac Disease Center and inquire.
  20. It has always been my understanding that any imported product must comply with US regulatory law, which would include the listing of wheat if an ingredient. Granted, corruption is prevalent in Asian countries. You can only arm yourself with information and make the best choice available. If a foreign product makes you ill, don't go there again.
  21. No, that's not possible. The gluten molecules are to large to penetrate the skin barrier. And, I think it doubtful that it would contain gluten anyway. Good luck with your quest. I quit smoking over two years ago, after 30 years.
  22. Yes, I too. That's another reason why THIS forum is so important. It's so important to many of us that accurate information and research is available to those in need.
  23. Gluten free or not, it should not bother you unless you have an allergy to topical products.
  24. For anyone who has Celiac Disease or knows someone who does, this is a must read, whether newly diagnosed or and old veteran: Open Original Shared Link THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST ARTICLE THAT I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. Please take the time to read this.
  25. Here is some Florida information: Open Original Shared Link As you know, lists change without warning. So, it's always good to depend on your label reading skills. But, if you needs lists, I would recommend Cecelia's Market Place Grocery Guide. New books are issued yearly.
