  1. Biopsys are not always acccurate as are the blood tests. The only true test is a positive dietary response. If you have been gluten free for a while and then slowly added gluten, it might take a while for symptoms to surface. Sort of like a car slowly rolling down a hill, no damage until one day the car goes over the cliff. Wish I could offer...
  2. Welcome back! I am sorry that you are having problems again. I don't think that I recall members mentioning that Enterolabs is covered by insurance. They do not diagnose, but they can tell you if are sensitive to gluten and other things, but you already know that.
  3. At the point of my blood work, I had been two months gluten free with a diagnosis of Celiac from a GI. Unhappy with my PCP, I choose to see another doctor. He in turn ordered "tests", which I later found was for Celiac at a cost of $1500, because he was Hospital affiliated and they got their cut. I no longer give doctors free range to run test on me...
  4. I am sure that there is a margin of error in every element of testing. My testing is through Quest. As you might know, here are the tests to be ordered: Anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA) both IgA and IgG Anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) - IgA Anti-tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG) - IgA Total IgA level.
  5. Clinique's Lip Surge LipStick line is gluten free. I have noticed that they have gotten fewer and fewer in their display/sample cases. Most of their consultants don't seen to know much about gluten in their products, I have found.
  6. How long has he been off of wheat or the other allergens that you mentioned. I could be that he has healed and is not OUTWARDLY showing symptoms. Should he have Celiac, he is having internal damage. Celiac is an autoimmune disease. It's not the amount of gluten that he may consume, but rather, the autoimune reaction to the smallest amount of gluten that...
  7. In the US, maltodextrin is derived from corn unless otherwise stated. I am not certain regarding English products. I would contact the company and inquire as to their gluten free status.
  8. I am not familiar with that product, but if it contained wheat, by law, it must be listed on the ingredient list or allergen statement. Whole grain rice is listed.
  9. WOW Peter! I am so excited that there is hope.

  15. Has anyone contact the company regarding its gluten free status? I found no information on their website.

My point is....if this were a HUGE problem where Celiac's all over the country are being "misled" by Enzymedica...where are they all?? Why arent we hearing about this constantly on this board...or *anywhere*??

I think that both sides of the argument/debate have been equally represented.
  18. YES! A very happy birthday to you and may all you wishes come true, K.
  19. Welcome! Gluten can be very tricky and it hides well. "Natural Flavors" is one of those hiding places. By law, wheat needs to be listed in the ingredients or in the allergin information. Barley, malt and rye do not need to be listed. Until your insides heal, you may be symptomatic to all foods. Here is a listing of companies who will clearly list all...

  21. Whey is ok for those with Celiac or gluten intolerance. Whey is NOT ok if you have an issue with dairy.
  22. Three cheers to Laura!!! I just couldn't convince Scott that I had no "buttons"
