  1. I see lots of symmetry with my DH. When I got one in a nostril the other got one within hours. On all other parts of my body I have a matter of 2-3 hours max before the other side joins in. Sometimes I can 'match' lesions - usually not more than 3-4 centimetres away from the other side, symetrically. I actually wish it wasn't so symmetrical an 'textbook...
  2. I am waiting to here back from our Aussie providers of heel balm about the ingredients so I am using it sparingly until then. It is very very good for dry skin and don't let the 'heel' in the title stop you using it elsewhere. My cracked/dry skin on my hands is greatly improved since using it on my hands.
  3. Have you tried heel balm? Open Original Shared Link

BTW there are only four products I can tolerate that come in packets: rice, rice noodles, rice crackers and one brand of sweet biscuit that is gluten/corn free and all natural sweetners etc. Taking gluten, egg and corn out off my diet has been a revelation to my system! Months of experimenting but worth it in the end.

This was the same for me too. Slow and simple is the way to go when you are dealing with a long term sick body like ours.
  6. So is it acid that triggers, mushroom?

BTW I checked with the moderators and we can name the 'good' medical helpers. We should refrain from bagging and naming((not sure if this an Aussie term.. negative feedback)) bad ones.

So nice to see a topic that includes positive interaction with medical profession! You are very lucky. Please let everyone on here know who and where you have been treated so that local people can access.
  9. Just as happy to hear from people who have had NO skin issues
  10. Did anything trigger or did you know why the hives came on? I have always had pilaris keratosis particularly on my outer upper arms. I always thought my lower legs were prowen to "ingrown hairs" but now after all over DH know that these are DH legions.
  11. Hi, what are your other irritants?
  12. Those of us in DH (dermatitis herpetiformis) forum community have been posting about the common skin conditions effecting those with celiac / gluten intolerance. Open Original Shared Link We are interested to hear from the wider forum community about your experiences with any skin conditions you are or have experienced. Thanks in advance.
  13. I am going to repost this web link and the general issue of skin conditions in 'coping with' to see what response happens there. Many gluten-free'ers would frequent the DH section of this forum... keep a look out.
  14. Be sure to read recent posts about eating low-iodine (avoiding dairy, egg yolk, iodised salt/sea salt etc etc) for DH control. You'll want to test your iodine reaction.
  15. Dairy and corn have also given me some grief. I am slowly reintroducing dairy (mostly GI symptoms originally) with some success. I have a strong suspicion that corn aggrevates my DH - temporarily and nothing like the long term effect of gluten. Both gluten and corn are on my avoid forever list.
  16. They are probably dairy intolerant!

  18. Found this useful website today whilst googling protein intolerance and thought others might find it interesting too: Open Original Shared Link
  19. Charli61 - you might want to repost as a new topic under the DH topic. It is an interesting question that you asked but many might not see it under this topic. Repost as a new one with a psoriasis/DH in the title and see who in the community responds. di
  20. Seems a lot us 'bad' cases of DH have been similar experiences. Lots of ups & downs on the roller coaster road but some definite "indicators" along the way. I have always avoid medications etc so I can't comment on topical or oral medications but the two dermatitis specific cream/lotions I tested early in my journey made my skin scream like a cornered...
  21. You need to stop paying this person. You should get in touch with your local/regional/state celiac societies or support groups and find out who in your region has experience with dealing with gluten related problems & patients. Google these groups/societies and ring them today.
  22. I'm with you itchy. In 9 months I've never had an infection. And that 9months is a lot of scratching and head-to-toe for most of this time. I think our bodies (skin? something?) are fighting the gluten related anti-bodies so hard that everyelse gets bulldozed. Mind you I keep very careful with keeping my nails short and clean them (plus hands etc) regularly...
  23. It may be good to also start a 'low iodine' list as well. Then you can have something to refer to when you are considering meals, shopping etc. It will also be a 'positive' in a big world of down'ers at the moment. Di
  24. Corn appears to make my DH worse especially if I have a high dose over a short time. I now avoid it completely. I am iodine lite. I occasionally have butter/cheese/milk but not very much at a time. I am still avoiding eggs for the same reason - a temporary flare immediately after eating high iodine foods. Given that the anti-bodies can remain for years...
  25. Ryniev, Can you pass on the link for the ebook?
