    ARCHIVED Armpits Dh

What would we have done without the ice pack!
  2. missy_m Are you totally gluten free at the moment? If you aren't you probably should. You might need to get strict with your diet before you blow out. Check / test sals and iodine.
  3. GFreeMO Can you describe the armpit rash? Is it spot like, scabbed, mega itchy? It is a common DH area. If it is driving you nuts you probably can describe it and for us DH suffer'ers you'll probably get a response.
  4. if you want to get really serious you want to consider the "grain fed" anything. This week coming I am going to eat only lamb and pork as they tend to not be 'grain fed'. Grains tend to include wheat (etc) and although the "gluten-free" regulations consider these meats 'gluten free' it does not necessarily apply to super sensitives. (((This is only my opinion...
  5. Oh and blessings to you. I'm not a church frequenter but I know how much it means to you. Keep your church safe for you and your church will keep you safe.
  6. You might still want to check with the supplier of the wafers about the 100% gluten free. Best to be assured by the supplier that their suppliers are gluten free. I'm a DH/super sensitive so maybe I am (ie need to be) a bit paranoid compared to regular gluten-free'ers
  7. raisins were a really good 'sals' trigger for me. ((Can you believe a DH trigger can be "good"!!! The more we know the more we cure.)It was the first and most obvious thing that led me down the sals path. They are easy and cheap to acquire and you can eat a heap of them with only (if like me) a temporary reaction. Open Original Shared Link
  8. Very soon I'll be financial enough to go 'grass' (not grain) fed meat eating. It will be a big step for me. "You are what you eat" must also apply to a cow??

    ARCHIVED Armpits Dh

Google sals - until recently I was in denial about sals. They are a complex set of foods to navigate compared to glutens but has been worth the while. Avoiding berry yogurt but not yogurt altogether was a godsend. My early indicators were dried fruit - raisons etc. btw I also avoid the citric acids, preservatives etc. I have a long way to go figuring it...

    ARCHIVED Armpits Dh

Hi GFreeMO, My DH has been head to toe for most of the past 10 months and I must say - the arm pits are right up there on the 'worst place to have DH' list. For me it is insanely little itchies !!! Have you tried the benzocaine products ? It tends to be in mouth/teeth infection products such as chemist/pharmacy quality products. It will give you some...

    ARCHIVED Ceranwrap?

I use gloves whenever I can - washing up, cleaning at home, hard-on-the-hands jobs at work (cotton gloves). I could tell everyone thought I looked weird wearing the white cotton gloves but now I am working easier and faster. No more hand damage. I strongly recommend you have a think about what you do during you normal day and think about what gloves could...
  12. OMFG I've had so many nights like this .. glad we are all getting open and honest. I really is life changing
  13. I don't eat out. :{ Unfortunately my skin (DH) also reacts to corn, sals and possibly iodine so that takes away any menu. I am slowly adapting my pantry / cooking so things are a lot more interesting in my kitchen than they have been the past 10 months. I ALWAYS have fresh garlic next to the stove and fresh garlic butter in the fridge. My mums amazing...
  14. I had a problem with iodine in the early days (first 6 months or there abouts) but have always had a problem with sals. They are my evil demon as far as my DH is concerned. I really hope you find what your current problem 'thing' is. It is terribly disheartening isn't it!?! Now days I eat a fair bit of dairy because it helps my GI issues. I keep my...
  15. I ditto TH;s post. If you are having so many issues being minute with your checks will be worth your while. Many of us DH/super sensitives have addition considerations: any other grains (corn, quinoa, some rice etc), sals ( google salicylate ((sals for short)) ) and iodine. First step is going very basic - meat and vege and then after a couple of weeks...
  16. DRAT alright! I handle cheese, yogurt and little butter but not milk/cream;;; it is a strange immune disorder that we all suffer. Biggest lesson is that we are all different.
  17. BTW The lesions in my nostrils looked very similar to the canker sores in my mouth.
  18. Google Image search for CANKER SORES. I had these with DH & GI & nerve issues when the gluten intake was at the highest. Let us know if it looks like canker sores or otherwise.
  19. I am 10 months in with head to toe DH so I can really understand your dilemma. I've had 2 periods of seeming relief only to go head to toe lesions once again. It is very hard on the sanity. I have found sals (dried fruit was the first culprit I think, coconut the second) a problem. Recently I discovered a massive problem with corn. Are you eating corn?...
  20. Buy, cook and eat what you know to be fresh and free is the only way to go. Because of my DH this is my doctrine. It doesn't have to be the same for everyone but has made a major improvement to my DH.
  21. Can you describe the lesions or rash that is occuring in your mouth? Many of us with DH have had canker sores. I am no guru/academic but I believe mine and my sons where a mouth manifestition of DH: Open Original Shared Link Google Image "canker sore" to make a judgment..
  22. I am seemingly alergic and intolerant to gluten. I have a typical allergic reaction to glutens ( asthma, sinus, cough, drippy nose etc etc) and I have DH and GI reactions associated with intolerance/celiac. I'm not officially diagnosed celiac but I have many allaments that have recovered since being gluten free. I think there are probably a lot of people...
  23. For me dipping a gluten-free anything into something that is gluten contaminated would be a disaster. (Presuming you are catholic) You should talk to your church and they should accommodate your needs. It could be as simple as you having a seat up front and going to the front of the line. Don't be shy. Look after your health and your religion shouldn't let...
  24. I have to avoid an 'hydro' etc etc gluten originated sources of ingredients. I gave up researching the science etc when my experimenting led me to find any of these gluten-containing-origin ingredients didn't help my DH. It took many many months of experimenting and may just be me or my DH that reacts. Today I know that anything with all the 'gluten-free...
  25. You would only have to read a few weeks of post in the DH section of this forum to know how many of us have problems with doctors & derms. DH and super sensitive people are the biggest advocates of self diagnosis and having trust in what you know is not 'right' and suspicious of multiple diagnosis from the same or multiple medical practioners. So yes...
