  1. Well I think a peanut allergy is way worse. But I downsize my celiac because I don't like attention from it. But if this Grandson is a child I would say its much worse than an adult with celiac. That's just me though
  2. Wow! Lesson learned! Good thing I didn't eat the whole thing I'd be way sicker
  3. I'm Irish and Hungarian. I believe mine came From my Grandfather's side which is Irish. My Dad is Irish and Dutch
  4. yesterday for lunch I had a Amy's gluen free mexican casserole. It only has corn torillas (which I'm fine with corn), black beans, and some spices and cheese. It says gluten free on the box but not certified gluten free. I had stomach pain a couple hours after eating it and I only ate a few bites because I didn't really like it. well this morning...
  5. I read Dr Green's book and I remember it saying you can't have celiac without the gene but then I saw there were some here that did. I wonder how they were diagnosed. If only blood then it could have been something else maybe
  6. It's rare I think?
  7. Hehe But I'm still dealing with lingering dh and that's not fun at least I think it's dh. I'm seeing a derm soon
  8. I'm one of those that have gray hair improvement! My hairdresser was amazed. She has been doing my hair for 13 years so she knows the difference. She told everyone in the salon because she couldn't believe it! She said my hair used to have no pigment, so more than gray the pigment was gone it was like streaks of white. My last coloring was in August and I...
  9. Everyone's reaction is different. And like Karen said there is a difference between "super sensitive" and violent reactions. I am pretty sensitive which means I get symptoms with a tiny amount if gluten, for example I dipped a piece of my meat in the same oil/vinegar sauce that my husband dipped his bread. I got symptoms from that but it wasn't a violent...
  10. My nails are growing like crazy and are thick with a normal color to them finally! My nails were thin and the nail bed was this ugly grayish color. I noticed my toe nails look better too.
  11. so maybe people who were told they have a gluten sensitivity but not celiac? I didn't want to put any words in your mouth I was hoping you would elaborate on it
  12. mine was 22 at diagnosis so it has gone up which is great. interesting how Kaiser says it's normal and doesn't treat it but yours has you taking supplements Do you all think I should be taking supplements for these levels? I think I may go to a natural type dr and have them check all my levels and get their advice btw, I got my dermatology referal...
  13. Yep I plan on making a donation. It's such an awesome thing that they do
  14. I think it may have been Karen, I think she posted a link about something I posted. I can't remember. Yes it's very exciting! Karen just posted the other day that the u of c is seeing people apply for these but not diagnosed Celiac.
  15. I love burt's bees lip products too, and BE eye makeup and lipgloss.
  16. Did you have an endoscopy done? My husband said after my endoscopy my breath was really bad for some time. Maybe it's because the tube makes stuff come up (I also have GERD) I don't know but he said in 17 years if marriage that was the first time he ever noticed it.
  17. I've been feeling a little down these last couple weeks because I feel like I'm still sick. The joint and muscle pain has made it hard to sleep and my fall allergies are out of control. So this morning I wake up to an email from ups with tracking that my care package from the u of c is on its way. It's so cool that they do this, I hope they know how much...
  18. we do natural choice too, it's just cheaper. I've only tried Applegate turkey for the lunch meat but love their bacon and breakfast sausage yum!
  19. I think I better take a look at soy. I drink an ensure shake pretty much everyday to get nutrients but it has a lot of soy and I also notice the more packaged gluten free foods I eat, the worse I feel.
  20. I've had asthma since 2012 and this is all new within the last 2 months. I was even on prednisone when I was first diagnosed with asthma because it was so bad and never had these symptoms so I don't know. When the pulmonary specialist diagnosed my asthma he seemed to think there was something more because it was so bad. He suspected maybe vasculitis but...
  21. This is the email I sent my Dr. today and sent pictures of the rash, the bulging veins, and the bruising. Dr. Baghat: I've attached images of the bruising, the veins, and the red rash. If you look over my office visits you will see my heart rate was always high, yet this has never been addressed My MCV is 99 when I researched this, it was documented...
  22. it's more of a rash, you can see a pic on my blog. I emailed my dr. I can't see a derm unless I have a referral ugghh
  23. Yeah should be no brainier! Even my GI that diagnosed me thinks for sure either k or c but both he and my gp says kaiser doesn't test for it. I'll ask for it and check the cost to have it done. That would certainly answer all my questions if those too were low. And when I researched causes for the low alkaline phosphate (it was only 22) one of the causes...
  24. Ok guess its derm time then. It came on hours after getting glutened (I had fried rice from Panda Express) but it comes and gos so I've just been taking pictures and hoping the derm can go off them
  25. Wow! I guess that's Kaiser for you. I've read Ferritin should be at least 50 but not sure either. My GI dr suspects either K or C because I get bruises that come from nowhere but of course Kaiser doesn't test for those :-/ It's really difficult to get any help from my Dr when every Kaiser Dr I've seen says my blood work looks "great"
