  1. That is hilarious, I thought only my husband was that way! I bought an immersion blender just for his pickyness, LOL!
  2. Oh, you can also get flax oil in loose form, I think I usually see it refrigerated. But I find it easier to remember to take the capsules
  3. Ugh Addy why do you have to flip my craving switch by mentioning M&M cookies?! I want some now! LOL Sunday we grilled out steak, and on Monday I made myself steak nachos while my husband and his friend got pizza. Steak nachos> pizza. Yesterday I made shredded chicken tacos with Stubbs green chile sauce, was really good and will be eating...
  4. I wouldn't take advice from that person any more. You can get omega 3's from flaxseed oil, it is also readily available in capsules.
  5. I don't think it would be appropriate to give a form letter to a dentist to give out to his patients. If you'd like, you can provide him with printouts of info from reputable sources for him/her to read. However, as a patient, it is fully your responsibility to listen to what your doctor tells you and take it in. He mentioned the autoimmune disease link...
  6. Snyder's gluten-free pretzels, popcorn, rice cakes, or pecan nut thins with peanut butter are some of my favorite late night snacks.
  7. For an irritated exit point, I really like the Preparation H wipes. Much easier than the ointment. Just fan your fanny dry after you use them, lol.
  8. So lets see... what have I made the last few days? Yesterday we went to a burger place for lunch and had grilled pork chops for dinner to test out the new gas grill my husband got for his birthday. Today we grilled out steaks, mashed potatoes, corn, and salad. Rained the whole time, we had done a cookout today because it was forecast to rain tomorrow!...

  10. Hi Brit16, You probably haven't gotten many replies because your child is so young and his doctor has done the right thing by referring you to a specialist. At this point it will just be a wait to get further testing done by the specialist. Let us know what happens. Edit: And yes, as mentioned above, do not discontinue feeding him gluten yet.
  11. No problem, it is a common mistake we all can make. I just put it in bold for future readers
  12. I agree that a note or card letting her know how much she has helped you in your career would be very nice.
  13. ----------Annies Cheddar Bunnies ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE!--------- they contain wheat. They do make some of the gummie bunnies and a few kinds of bunny grahams in a gluten-free version, but not the cheddar ones. Be careful when browsing Annies products, a lot of the packaging looks very similar and I myself have come close to buying a gluten version of my...
  14. Welcome to the forum! It seems you have read up and familiarized yourself a bit so that is really good. You may want to get a formal diagnosis some day, just keep it in mind for the future when you have means to. As for your questions... 1. The recovery from celiac intestinal damage can take a while. Everyone is different, but usually there are a...
  15. Nah, my OCD definitely isn't celiac related.
  16. As a person with OCD, anything like this becomes a problem whenever it interrupts your life and you can no longer properly function. You have to find a happy medium level of it. Ever seen that show "My strange addiction"? TP and other household goods eaters abound! Maybe if one of them is celiac.... LOL
  17. When it is late at night and I can't sleep, I will go take some benadryl and eat whatever sweets I have in front of the TV until it kicks in. I like that show on animal planet called "Too Cute." (it shows litters of kittens and puppies) ..... really relaxing and it helps me fall asleep, lol.
  18. I like to make pasta with mushrooms, zuchinni, and sometimes yellow squash sauteed, tossed with a little cooked pasta and Parmesan cheese. I will reserve the pasta water and add a little in to make a little sauce. Sometimes I add meat in the form of cooked ground turkey, cut up chicken, or italian sausage. I also like to sautee cubed sweet potato with...
  19. You are definitely welcome to post here! There are many people on here that also do not have a formal diagnosis, but have a glaringly obvious problem with gluten so they are gluten-free for life. A lot of times when you first mention it, people will encourage you to get diagnosed, but a lot of people will have a hard time going back on gluten for a diagnosis...
  20. I will also add, after reading what Georgiaguy said about outside parties, that when we have outdoor BBQ's I will serve gluten hot dog/hamburger buns for costs sake. gluten-free people get first shot at the food, then once everyone else touches it, any leftovers get tossed or sent home with guests. I put out condiments, veggies, and sides in quantities...
  21. When I have get-togethers at my house, I do them all gluten-free. While I will allow my husband to have gluten or 1 or 2 other people who understand how to keep it clean, other people who are just piggies and have no clue are a recipe for disaster. If you already explained to your friends who are helping you host that you are having gluten-free items at...
  22. Ahahaha! I will definitely tell my husband to pucker up! LOL. And as a kid with just the regular TV channels, I spent a lot of time watching I Love Lucy reruns! My husband always says he is keeping a list of the 9000 ways I can hurt myself, lol.
  23. I am a big fan of soyrizo, I buy it because it is way less fatty than chorizo, and still really good in eggs. The two brands I regularly see, I can't recall the names, but they are both gluten-free.
  24. LOL Ellen with the shakeweight! I just looked it up and watched it. Hehehhe I have an original funny story for you guys: This morning I was in the shower, and a full bottle fell off the shelf and hit my toe. Screaming in pain, I went to sit down and rub it, when I slipped and fell, hitting my hiney on the shower door track. Then I was bawling...
  25. My Kitty has recurrent urinary tract infections so we have switched her to the Royal Canin canned urinary diet (by vet RX only) and it is gluten free. Hooray!
