  1. Thanks for your replies. I had a rough nite. I fell asleep at 12, then I jerked myself awake at 1:30 am and was up until 6 am. Along with the jerking, my brain doesn't know how to shut down and fall asleep. I drank chamomile tea last nite. It at least gets rid of the anxiety. I am fairly certain I wasn't glutened. I cook all my...
  2. My doc told me that if B12 is under 400 then you can have nuerological problems, like numbness and tingling. She also told me though that she wants mine to be around 500. I had numbness in my hands and had almost passed out twice prior to that visit. Mine was 280. Are you taking B12 ? Sublingual is better absorbed than pills. I give myself...
  3. I'm still tripping over the fact that I am not jerking any more. I was on meds for 16 years. And I was jerking during the day as well as while I was sleeping. It is just that the night time jerking was documented in a sleep disorder study. So, I knew exactly what that was. Right now, I want to make sure that it is not going to come back. I don...
  4. Thanks for replying. This is a very emotional time for me. I had no idea that I would actually make this kind of improvement. It's going to take awhile before I can believe it. It's not coming back, is it ? It is so reassuring to hear that others have healed too. And I can look forward to doing sudokus. Today was a little better. I remembered...
  5. I've obviously had some brain issues caused by gluten since I have been able to give up my Klonopin by going gluten free. I was taking it for nocturnal myoclonous (NM) diagnosed via a sleep disorder clinic back in 1990. FYI, NM is uncontrollable jerking while sleeping. I found info on mindscience.org about feeding the brain and info on this site...
  6. I can totally relate to your werewolf analogy. I saw myself as a vulture swooping down on my poor daughter when she would try to eat her "normal" food. In my defense, she was working at Carraba's and bringing it home after work. What was I supposed to do It does get better. I found it easier to stay gluten free after I did a gluten challenge. My...
  7. Me too. I felt terrible every time I tried to reduce the dosage when my body wasn't ready. I had to go up and down on it several times during the last month just to stop the jittery feelings. I was hanging in there at 1/16 of a tablet forever. Now, I am a little jumpy, but I can live with it. At least I am not jerking Welcome to...
  8. I am posting on this thread because my GP has been calling my nocturnal myoclonous (myoclonus) RLS, so maybe they are related. The difference is that either my legs, arms or abdomin would jerk whenever I went into REM (Diagnosed by a sleep disorder study). I didn't feel the jerking at first. But as the years went by it got more pronounced and more...
  9. Well ... drum roll please .......... I stopped taking Klonopin Friday nite and have been seizure free for about a week. No jerking at all during the day either. I am so excited and yet scared at the same time. Is it going to last ?? I have been using chamomile tea to calm my nerves at nite so I would stop freaking out about not taking...
  10. Wow, this thread has really cleared up some things for me. I can relate to most of it. I have hypo G too and have to eat every couple of hours. And I feel so much better if I only eat small meals. I am getting a weird brain fog feeling (dizzy) from the Kefir I have been drinking, but all this time I thought it had to be the sugars in it....
  11. Lactose free and gluten free ice cream .. WOW .. what a good idea ... Breyer's right ? I've been researching casein intolerance. I sure hope I don't have that. I'm testing lactaid as I type. I had to switch to Vanilla Fudge swirl. Thanks folks Ok, it's been 10 minutes and I am nauseas and it feels like it is coming back up on...
  12. This is similar to what I was asking about on my ice cream post I started adding foods back in as soon as my bm's normalized and I was no longer having cramps everytime I ate. About 4 - 6 months gluten free. I've been at this for a year now, but I'd guess things really got much better about 2 months ago. Or I at least figured out that I could...
  13. Thanks for all your replies. But, I am still wondering if dairy can be contributing to other symptoms I am having. And the "D" is my body's way of telling me it is bad for me. I have been looking into foods that cause brain fog lately and found this article : Sorry it is so long, but I didn't want ya'll to miss any of this Food Allergies...
  14. I had completely eliminated dairy, corn, wheat, eggs, etc so that I could see what was causing my symptoms. And now I am adding foods back. When I say less sensitive, I just mean I am not having stomach cramps anymore. My stomach was spasming immediately last year whenever I ate dairy. Or soy. My bm's have been completely normal most of the...
  15. I don't know if it is a casein intolerance or lactose intolerance. I didn't have any tests. Dumb doctors My stomach had stopped digesting anything last year and that is how I found out about food allergies and gluten. My stomach has healed quite a bit this past year and now I am in the process of adding back foods to see what I can handle. ...
  16. I ate some of my daughter's Breyer's mint chocolate chip. This is gluten free, right ? I didn't have any stomach pains. Just a little "D".
  17. Hi Carla, Thanks for replying ... I'm a little sensitive to dairy, but all my sensitivities are beginning to lessen. I added back chocolate, tomatoes, etc a couple of months ago. I don't think anything else is happening to my body other than the "D", but I thought maybe the "D" meant I should avoid that food anyway. Is "D" or...
  18. I know gluten will cause permanent damage, but if ice cream only upsets my stomach a little, why not eat it ?
  19. I have a fluttering feeling my arms and hands that started a few months ago and I have been gluten free for 11 months now. Is it possible that this is a good thing ? My finger tips don't look all wrinked all the time now either, so maybe the blood is getting to our hands and feet better than it used to. I am B12 deficient but started injections...
  20. Esthesio Thanks for the sites. I scanned them, but I've been a fog for a few days now, so I will go back to them when the fog lifts. I've been on a candida kill mission for about a week now, so I am hoping it is related. The list of symptoms is so extensive ... I'm pretty sure I saw on one of the sites that if you don't feel better after...
  21. You're kidding. I can actually buy that glucose drink they gave me for my GTT . And it would be good for me Tell me more .... please
  22. I have a very sensitive stomach too and systemic candida, I think. I've been treating it with Pau d Arco tea, garlic (occasionally) and kefir (natural probiotic) so I've stopped getting the obvious symtom. How do you know if you have systemic candida ? The symptom list is overwhelming and so similar to other symtpom lists. I was going to suggest...
  23. So does this mean that my stomach has too much acid in it ? And is there anything I can add to a carbonated drink to get rid of the bubbles so I could drink it ? I used to be able to stir the bubbles out and be ok, but not anymore. For some reason I could handle the soda flavored glucose drink when I had my glucose tolerance test. I don't know...
  24. Hi Michele Welcome to the board. I wanted to mention that your symptoms ( exhaustion, numbness ) could also be from anemia. Iron or B12 or both. These are common deficiencies in celiacs. It is something you could treat now and not wait until you have been tested for celiac. I was just diagnosed with both of these 6 weeks ago. And...
  25. I can't drink carbonated sodas or mineral water either. It feels like the bubbles multiply when they get into my stomach. I hope someone can explain this.
