gluten-free in Wilmington, DE
NoGlutenCooties replied to NoGlutenCooties's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
For anyone looking for a great place to eat near Wilmington, DE, I did not find anyplace in Wilmington that looked like they could do safe gluten free. I was also there on a Sunday and most places are closed on the weekends. However, I found a really great place in Newark, DE - just 20min away. It's Ted's Montana Bar and Grill and it was absolutely amazing... -

Thanks Scott. That's why I was hoping for a recommendation of a place known to be safe. Jenny -

So sorry to hear you've been so sick! I can't speak to "cheap versions" of soda, but I never order anything that comes through a hose that could potentially be cross-contaminated with other fluids. For example, I don't ever trust draft gluten-free beer or cider. I'll only drink it if it comes in a bottle. I'm a bourbon drinker myself and always order...

I was experiencing something similar, with low energy and a tendency to over-eat (which was never my thing). I started logging my diet and paying attention to the macros (protein, fat, and carbohydrates). I found that I was not getting nearly enough carbs, which the body uses for energy. Once I started making sure I was getting enough carbs (for me this...

Just wanted to share this with you all. I found a product called Ka'Chava, which is a plant-based powder made from a substantial list of various plants. (see www.kachava.com) I'm not trying to advocate for this product, but it was something that interested me and I decided to try it. I received my first packet and saw that it contains oats. As anyone...

Hi - I'm in the middle of peri-menopause with hopes to be done with whole thing very soon (can't come soon enough if you ask me). I have been experiencing weird periodic nausea for the last couple of months and until I just read your post had not considered the two might be linked. I've actually had a couple of episodes where it felt like I would feel...

This is facinating because I'm finding the opposite to be true. Before going gluten free I started having perimenapause symptoms... mostly night sweats and not really hot flashes, but just noticing that heat bothers me more. Like my body had a harder time keeping my internal temp down. I've been gluten free for 6 months and the night sweats have stopped...

Yep - I was getting a lot of "break-through-bleeding" for years before my diagnosis. You definitely want to get it checked out to make sure it isn't something more serious going on. For me, every OBGYN I ever went to looked really concerned, ran a bunch of tests, then when all of the tests came back negative came to the conclusion that "some women are just...

IMO, you should have it checked out. Possible causes for pain in that area are kidney infection, kidney stones, or ovarian cysts: http://voices.yahoo.com/causes-severe-pain-lower-left-side-the-6694210.html Sources for this article: The National Institutes of Health on Abdominal Pain and The Mayo Clinic on Causes of Abdominal Pain

I know this thread was started quite some time ago, but just wanted to add that a teaspoon of apple-cider vinegar in water can work wonders. Start with just a teaspoon though - it actually tastes pretty good, but if you overdo it, it can work too well...

Brain Fog Recovery.
NoGlutenCooties replied to jpt2014's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Along with the Vit B and Vit D that others mentioned, make sure to have your iron levels checked too. Low iron can make you tired and contribute to brain fog. Getting enough protein is also very important. I try to get a bit of protein every few hours (nuts, cottage cheese, yogurt, a protein bar). It helps stabelize your blood sugar levels too.
