  2. It's never too late--I was 49 when diagnosed 5 years ago. It took longer for me to get to a point where I have more good days than bad, but compared to how I was before is like night and day. I had symptoms from the age of about 29 that got much worse after a bout with the flu in late 2003. Best of luck--and welcome

  4. Pinning all appropriate posts creates an amazing archive--there's nothing quite like it anywhere--it's a veritable treasure trove of compiled first-hand experiences with Celiac and the Gluten Free Diet. The mods do a very good job of keeping the information up to date whenever possible, and of course the post date is clearly displayed.
  5. Oh Connie, I was just heartbroken for you when I read about your George. What a wonderful man he was, and know that he came into your life for a reason. Please take care, be good to yourself, and heal in your own time--whatever your health issues turn out to be, don't be a stranger here.
  6. My gosh, how awful I'm so sorry you had to go through all that--if they had only been honest you could have brought things with you. Their attitude once on the ship was terrible--it's deplorable that you had to go that whole time without any real food. I hope you feel better soon

  9. I know--when you're going like that, sitting down can be be dangerous! Don't forget to breathe, Rah-schell So, had a panic attack today....I had one a couple of months ago and before that none since I went gluten-free. I have no idea wih triggered it but all of a sudden me heart started beating really fast, I had been a little dizzy for the last couple...
  10. Glad you're taking some "me time" for yourself today
  11. Yeah, the sugar is the reason I only drink them occasionally. Way too much for everyday where my drink of choice is spring water. My usual caffeine fix is a cup or two of tea with organic fat free milk.
  12. I hope yer mom gets more comfortable with moving about on her own, Kharreign.
  13. Wow Rice Guy, that's an amazing discovery! Thanks for all of your hard work experimenting and letting us know all about it.

  16. I know what I phorgot to remember....Mark called a little while ago. He was going back up the highway from our son's house this afternoon when a car that had just passed him skidded into the center median (it was raining), became airborne, flipped over and landed upside down. Mark saw the whole thing--said it was surreal. He maneuvered around her and...
  17. <gag> I don't think anyone's ever made me a cake, come to think of it. What else did I want to say....oh--KTRE is a Nagadoches Tx TV station. Was Nathan at the Blueberry Festival?

  19. Glad to finally get the scoop on that! To the original question, I would give all the utensils a good scrubbing with warm soapy water, rinse off, and run through the dishwasher. They should be fine--except for any wooden ones and the collendar. As for the breadmaker--my personal feeling is not to use it for gluten-free breads. I wouldn't feel comfortable...
  20. You poor thing! Although it does take time to get relief after going on the gluten-free diet, it's entirely possible for us to have something else going on. I hope you can get in to see the specialist and get to the bottom of this. Keep us posted.
