  1. Neutrogena has many products that are gluten-free. You can email them and they'll send you their latest list. Bare Escentuals also has a lot of gluten-free things. All of the minerals are gluten-free--not all of the mascaras are, though. Their skin care line is not gluten-free. Those are available through Sephora and QVC. Locally I found some of their...
  2. Jen! How wonderful to have you here in Rachelville You need to come by more often. I can't wait to see your 6-pack avatar! I agree--Pilates is wonderful
  3. Yes--I agree that color would be very dignified
  4. jayhawkmom--Your post remended me of something. When I was still working, a co worker was telling us that she had just been to her nephew's funeral. What happened was that he and his wife had just had dinner at a restaurant (I won't name it here). As they were getting ready to leave, he began to feel ill. The parimedics were called, but he actually died...
  5. I saw the young man and his father recently on one of the AM news shows (I think The Today Show). It was heartbreaking--I side with the family on this.
  6. I called them last fall. The man that I spoke to told me that they would clearly list any gluten ingredients on the label. I jotted this info in my CSA Product Guide Notebook, that's why I can say it was gluten that he said, and not only wheat. Perhaps things have changed since then?
  7. Hang in there, Jeny Tell yourself that after 4, you'll get a little computer time, and come back and chat Hey Rachel--Great news on the diet! Good luck with the ultrasound this afternoon--and good luck with trying not to pee your pants I will be interesting, though to see if your intestines are still active. If not, that would give...
  8. I'm so sorry that this has happened. I understand why you need to vent, and am glad that we can be here for you! I also understand because I have family members who don't come right out and say it, but feel the need to compare everyone and everything. What people like this don't understand is that there is enough love and understanding to go around--what...
  9. Oops--sorry for calling him a doctor I actually subscribe to Body and Soul Magazine You're right on the Pilates--one of it's earliest uses was to rehabilitate ballet and other dancers who had injuries.
  10. Julie--Pilates most definately does work. I have my own machine here at home the Premier XP. I'm not using it right now because I have a large fibroid that causes pain, and since the Pilates focuses on the "core", working out on it aggrevates the situation.
  11. Wow Donna--thanks! I already do a lot of what the doctor suggests--if I could only give up the sugar....
  12. Yes Julie, Sorry to hear about your butt
  13. Hi Carrie--I'm so sorry that you are going thru this now, with your wedding coming up. It's not fair that you need to be worried about all of this now! It's a darn shame I did some checking for you, although you have done a ton of research, I'm sure. This site has a lot of information on food allergies, and many related sites that go into a lot of what...
  14. Can you get Nestle's? I use a milk substitute (Vance's), sugar and Nestle's Pure Cocoa Powder.
  15. Wonderful news!
  16. Andrea--If you gave Seth the banana to put something into him while he was sick, it just may have been that he had a little virus, and would have thrown up anything at that point. It's so hard to tell sometimes. Glad he's better now Hi Donna--Great that you're feeling better today. That dizzy, shaky, nauseous feeling is the worst! I'm so happy that...
  17. miamia--I think we make quite the pair! You are taking the same antihistimine that Rachel takes, right? Hopefully that will make a difference. Robbin--Yes, The Poland Spring is all I drink. Glad you like it! I have problems with a lot of teas--not just powdered. The one that I have no problem with is Stash Teas. There is no gluten at all in...
  18. I stick to meat, chicken, veggies, bananas, pineapple (fresh), potatoes, almonds, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, spring water. I avoid all of the foods listed in my signature. How about you?
  19. azmom3--I'm so sorry for all of the things that are going on in your life right now. I agree that based on the positive bloodwork, your baby has Celiac. The only thing to do now is to put him on the gluten-free diet. At 22 months, hopefully he will begin to improve quickly. The best thing is that by going gluten-free now, he will avoid a lot of the complications...
  20. Yea, Cissie! You just described my childhood summers We had a vine, too! It was on the hillside grounds of our school (that was just up the street). We would give a running start, and swing in a great big circle where we would be way out above the hill! We played jumprope, hopscotch and hide and go seek. Other than bikes, we had not much except our...
  21. You sound like my older son--he can't start off his day without a Pepsi
  22. I know how you feel! I had been feeling pretty well for the last couple of weeks and then today I made a mistake and bam! Definately knocked back down I'm sorry that you got sick--I sure hope that it passes quickly. I understand how frustrating it is to have this happen.
  23. I noticed that--a bad stomach day all around, I guess.
