  1. I just sent you a PM so you be sure to notice!
  2. Not everyone with Celiac has noticeable symptoms. There is at least one member here who tested positive only after her sister was diagnosed, and has no symptoms at all. I would look on this positive test as a gift! I wish I had been diagnosed years ago, before the damage caused my neuropathy and numerous additional food intolerances. Her test result is...
  3. Yep--it's my favorite
  4. Gee, I'd like to hear it....
  5. Only for a short time--I just couldn't tolerate them. I switched to Centrum that has 18 mg of iron. I was anemic when I was diagnosed--hemi of 8. Afer 6 months gluten-free, it went up to 14.6. Both my finger and toe nails have never looked better!
  6. I've been thinking about this water connection--the thing that first made me think about it was that last weekend, we went to Syracuse to visit family. I was born there and lived there for 32 years. The first day there, I didn't feel the need to "go" at all (!) The second day, I went once in the morning, and had none of my usual lower abdominal discomfort...
  7. Sensodyne
  8. Thanks Susan! Hope that's it, anyway You have a nice evening--sorry you're feeling down right now
  9. You go girl! I always get excited when I think I've figured out another piece of the puzzle. Hope it's helpful for us both! We seem to have a lot of stuff in common
  10. Julie, Celia and Rachel--Thanks for your input! I'm drinking nothing but the Poland Spring like I did back at the beginning of all this and see if it makes a difference that will last. I've been going out of my mind trying to figure out why I keep getting sick. I've been joking that pretty soon I'll be down to a vitamin pill and water! (and now the water...
  11. Yes, it's filtered. There's a filter right in the fridge. I changed it when the indicator light came on. Don't think it's CC. Maybe you would know this Vincent--I think those filters have charcoal in them--there wouldn't be wheat in that like there is in cooking charcoal--would there?
  12. I had vertical ridges in my fingernails and horizontal dips in both my thumbnails--they have completely gone away at one year+ gluten-free.
  13. Hi Judy I was thinking about you today--I'm glad that you got some good news! I think swimming will be very good for you--nice gentle excercise for your leg, without the threat of getting overheated. One step at a time....
  14. Celia--I know what you mean. You said it perfectly--we can't dwell on what could happen. I tend to do that--I've always been that way. I've been kind of up and down for months now. As I've identified my other intolerances and eliminated them, I've felt better as soon as I cut out the food. But, after a while, I always get symptoms again. I'm running...
  15. Uh oh Judy--not THOSE chocolate bars Are you ok so far?
  16. You know Bev, it might just be that you're trying to "come down" from the events of the past 2 weeks. Add the gluten in, and and the anxiety gets the upper hand so to speak. I would think as the gluten effects fade, the anxiety will go back where it came from--and hopefully stay put! I know that when I get CC, the anxiety always comes back. Feel better...
  17. Celia--I just know that you're well on your way to being happy the way you were before You have us to help now Evie--Congratulations on your 60 years together! I'm 1/2 way there! My best wishes to your husband--and may he recieve good news from the doctor
  18. Cissie--Hit your "refresh" button
  19. Hi Shannon and welcome to the board You're right to listen to your body! If those foods bother you, and you feel better off them--do so! Ursula is very knowledgeable about food intolerance--she's lived it and lucky for us has shared all she's learned. I also am intolerant to legumes. It is not uncommon in people with autoimmune disease. Most people...
  20. Gosh, that's right around the corner now. I remember when you first told us, it seemed so far off.
  21. My reactions usually begin after 2 hours. Gas followed by D. Nausea, stomach pain and anxiety also for the next few days until it begins to subside. I have not ever eaten gluten on purpose--my reactions are all as a result of CC. I don't honestly know if they would be any different if I ate a gluten food (as opposed to the CC). Don't want to find out...
  22. Hi Bridget I'm glad you had such a nice lunch! I've been by that place many times, but never eaten there. It's such a charming old building. Good to know they do gluten-free
