  1. Welcome to the family!
  2. I use it in the shower--but not on my face. I think it would be fine, though, for taking make up off.
  3. I called the company before buying. The man I spoke to was very nice and listed the products that they make that do have gluten (most in the form of oats). The Moisturizing Cleanser and the Ultimate Night Renewal I use are gluten-free. Their phone number is--800-334-7546. www.zianatural.com
  4. Since I started using Zia Moisurizing Cleanser (no SLS), I don't need a moisturizer during the day any more. I use their night time moisture treatment. I love the Kiss My Face bar, but I don't use it on my face
  5. Mango--After you told me about it, I bought a bar and have been using it ever since. I love this soap!! I have even recommended it to others. I get mine at Whole Foods--only $2.99 for the large bar. I no longer need moisturizer on my legs
  6. Hi jabberwife--here is a link to the Triumph Dining Cards-- Open Original Shared Link
  7. Hi Jennifer--Interesting you should ask about this. I tested borderline low on a TSH right before I was diagnosed with Celiac last year. I had follow up bloodwork in Nov. at about 6 months gluten-free, and everything was normal. Recently, I've been having problems with muscle cramping, weight gain, dry eyes, heart palpations (being aware of the beating...
  8. Nice *friend*, Judy I'm with Rachel--she gained all her weight back and added some more besides. Sounds like she's jealous and dosen't want to admit that you succeeded at something that she didn't. Kind of petty, considering you had to get sick and completely change your way of eating. Don't let that get you down
  9. Hi Rachel--I just got a chance to read up on the thread, and what you've been up to. I had to smile when I read about your new friend--I could "see" the smile on your face as I read. He sounds charming! I'm so glad you're out having fun--that's so great! I have a pair of jeans that tell me if I've gained or lost a few pounds better than my scale...
  10. When I was still eating grains, this was my favorite of all the mixes! They are great
  11. Hi Jillian--that's great!
  12. I had eczema diagnosed about 12 years ago on my eyelid. Nothing, including Rx steroid creams would keep it away for long. I tried everything. About 2 months ago, I changed personal care products--nothing with SLS. At about the same time, I discovered I was sensitive to legumes and cut those out. I don't know what did it--the diet changes (I've been gluten...
  13. Wow--this place sounds wonderful. Hope they do well, and the idea catches on!
  14. Elonwy--Sounds like you're having a great time! Thanks for checking in
  15. I kept checking in today to see if you had posted. So relieved to hear that it went well Great news about the weight gain, too. What a little trooper!
  16. Mama Belle--What more than likely happened was that you were glutened by the crackers that were dipped in the guacamole. Frequently, the longer we're off gluten, the more sensitive we become to much smaller amounts. It dosen't take too long away from gluten for this to happen.
  17. Hi Julie--Spectrum has some mayo's that don't contain soy--they're based on canola oil. Here's a link to take a look at them-- Open Original Shared Link
  18. As far as I know, The Cinnamon Puffins have alway been just wheat free. The only gluten-free cereal Barbara's makes are the Honey Rice Puffins.
  19. gfp--Thank you for starting this thread! I will be most interested to hear other's stories. I highlighted the parts of your post that describe what I feel to a T. I have relationships that have suffered or ended because of my "need to be alone". This "need" had nothing to do with how I felt about the person(s), but it over-rode my feelings. When I was...
  20. It sounds like a great plan to me--go back to the basics. I actually had to do just that because 4 months into the diet, a lot of my symptoms came back--along with reflux, which I'd never had before. If you're not feeling better after 3 months, and are getting no hidden gluten, I would suspect other intolerances. Stay on the basic diet until you are feeling...
  21. Blanchemae--I had the endoscopy and colonoscopy done the same day. I was very nervous, to say the least, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined. I was asleep for the whole thing. I remembered having the IV put in, and being wheeled into the procedure room. The nurse asked me to turn onto my side, and I remember nothing from that point until I woke...
  22. Hi Carol--I don't recall your question, but I'm sorry you didn't get any responses. I don't eat grains now (intolerant), but when I used to make gluten-free bread, I used mixes from The Gluten Free Pantry. I would mix them up in my Kitchenaid, and bake them in the regular oven. They were easy and very good. I don't have any experience with the bread machines...
  23. Hi Debbie--welcome! Potato starch is gluten-free, as are potatoes. (There is no such thing as a dumb question here!)
  24. Tangerine--I took some time yesterday and read through a lot of it. Very interesting! Thanks
  25. You said it, Ian, this is an amazing place! Don't know what I would have done without it. Thank you Scott for providing us with this forum that helps so many
