  1. Chrisy--I'm also mad for you! How dare they not take the appropriate steps to feed Tianna safely. It's inexcuseable. I'm not one to sue, either--but that's what they need to hear! I hope this gets worked out quickly--can she come home yet--or would she have to go to another facility?
  2. I eat Oscar Mayer Bacon
  3. The not absorbing nutrients would make sense because I was also anemic then. I do have a cat, but I don't think that the litter had anything to do with the blister in my case--maybe you are allergic also?
  4. Before I went gluten-free, I had vertical ridges in my fingernails, and a horizontal dip in both thumbnails. All that is gone now (after a year gluten-free) The finger blister comes and goes--I had it frequently before. I was sick this past weekend--I may have been glutened thru CC, and it flared up again. Mine definately itches.
  5. Rinne--I just remembered you asked about this last night--sorry! A fibroid is a benign tumor that grows in the uterus, or in the lining, or outside. Estrogen is what feeds them and causes them to grow. They can cause pain--it depends on the location and also the size. They are common in women--especially during the ages of 35-50. They are different than...
  6. One of these days, we're gonna have to seriously compare notes--I love it that I'm not the only one with this stuff
  7. I've been following this and really didn't know if this pertained to me. I have experienced more tenderness and am a bit fuller than I was, but I am also in perimenopause--that could be part of it, too. Interesting
  8. Cool Celia! I did google earlier, and came up with nothing that fit. So we're a couple of Logophobics You're not gonna believe this, but I also have a fear of taking medicines--but just the first time. I'm petrified that I'll have an allergic reaction and die--seriously, I will only take a new med if my husband is home with me in case something happens...
  9. Wow Rachel--what to make of this? On the one hand, I think that from now on, they will be looking for something--not passing this off as stress or IBS or some such nonsense. This could actually be the start of something that will lead to real answers. One note that crossed my mind as I was reading--during my ultrasound, she could not find one of my ovarys...
  10. How did it go, Donna?
  11. I can type it, but don't ask me to say it! I wonder if this phobia has a name?...
  12. OMG--me too! I've never heard of anyone else that was the same way! Spooky
  13. Kate--I never knew about this! Sometimes my son defrosts a bagel in there. Do you do something to clear the air (so to speak) or anything?
  14. This isn't embarassing or anything, but just today Mark went to Whole Foods for me on his lunch break (it's near his work, but about 45 min from here). The store is under renovations, and he had to ask the guy where my Kiss My Face soap and Zia cleanser were--all the time on the phone with me making sure he got the right things.
  15. Andrea-- is right! It better be good-eh
  16. Yea...my husband is very cool about that kind of stuff--not embarassed at all. Vincent--I like to say--"you can't buy (whatever), you can only rent it!" Stuff has a tendency to go through me pretty quick
  17. Hi Ivy--I'm another who was sick for many years. I had a lot of misdiagnoses and was finally diagnosed with Celiac when I was 49. The damage to my intestine was even visable to the camera--I am left with many other intolerances. At a year gluten-free, I still have a way to go.
  18. I did fine being "just" gluten-free for several months--then I noticed my GI and anxiety symptoms returning. I would suggest you keep a food diary so you can more easily notice which symptoms happen when you eat different foods.
  19. Hi Kendra--You need to PM Scott, the board administrator (admin). Go to the home page, and click on admin. You'll find it where it says--"forum led by..."
  20. I always used canola oil in my banana bread--it worked fine
  21. Betty--Are you eating pretty normally? It just can take a day or 2 to get everything up and running again. Of course, if you get pain other than gas, or a lot of bleeding, it's best to check with the doctor's office.
  22. Betty! There you are--I was thinking about you. The nurse warned me that I could have gas pain and pass a lot of gas after. It's because they pump air into you to get a better look. I actually didn't, but my husband did after his. It should be better by tomorrow.
  23. Boy, this could be huge! I hope he feels the same frustration as we do regarding the lack of awareness--he certainly has the ability to get the word out there--looks like he has already started! Looking forward to the articles--thanks, Tiffany
  24. Heck--this IS a chat room (a productive one, but still...) Susan, my Grandma had her 4th child at 46 and my SIL had her 2nd at 44. You can do anything you set your mind to
  25. Hi Kim Glad you got a definitive answer for your son. It will be a big adjustment for him, to be sure! It's great, though, that he was diagnosed so young--think of the health problems he will avoid. Good for you--pushing that doctor to test him
