  1. Wow--this is great news! Hopefully we can figure out who it was
  2. Hi Dan--welcome to the board! From a gluten standpoint, McCormick spices will clearly list any gluten ingredients on the label--you only need to read them. That is the brand I use.
  3. You can post the recipe if you list the original publication the recipe appeared in, and the author.
  4. Nancy--I agree with you. I use soap and water--often. I make sure I lather the soap for a good 30 seconds or so, and rinse well under running water. Not ony do I not end up glutening myself, but I don't get many colds and whatever else is going around.
  5. Hi Chloe--Skittles are indeed gluten-free
  6. I like how you think, Nikki
  7. I tried to look it up for you and couldn't find any info. regarding gluten. Sorry Have a good time today, anyway
  8. Karen--Don't feel guilty about the glutening. It happens to all of us in the beginning--it will pass, and she will be fine. Do you have a mall in your town? The one here has openings all the time in the various stores. You could even call around, to save time and gas--it's just that it will be easier for her to stay safe (gluten-wise) not surrounded by...
  9. Under the circumstances, I agree. If it is necessary for her to work this summer, why not a retail job where there is no food involved at all.
  10. Nini--you're killing me here... (Glad it turned out so well!)
  11. Rooting for you from New Jersey, too, Matilda! I just know you can do anything you set your mind to. You sound like a very perseptive person, and I believe you will do very well
  12. Of course you're not stupid! I think your plan to go back to school in August, and get your GED is a fantastic one. That alone will give you more options than you have open to you now. One step at a time--I think you're doing great, considering the year you've had
  13. Hi Judy--I just pinned that topic, you can find it here-- Open Original Shared Link
  14. When I was eating grains, I really liked Cream of Rice. I would put maple syrup, walnuts and cinnamon on it. I never had a gluten issue with it.
  15. Lister--This is the advice I gave to my 2 sons--they are now 21 and 25 and both have excellent credit. The older one bought his first home 1 1/2 years ago and outright owns a truck, and is almost done paying off another. He is not wealthy/did not get an inheritance. He works hard at his job as a truck driver/supervisor at a large moving company. I told...
  16. Rachel--That's so great that you're getting gardening/lawn help. I love doing everything *inside* the house, but not outside. My husband works a lot, and I'm home, so I try and keep the yard done--really not that bad most of the time. Our yard isn't too big, but I have lots of raised beds, stacked stone, fence, etc that all have to be weeded and trimmed...
  17. Rachel--I guess we're gonna have to keep you away from those sweet potatoes Speaking of sandals--I am addicted to Birkenstocks. They are so comfortable, and now you can get really cute colors. I never thought I'd wear them, but I tried my first pair last summer and they're all I want to wear now cause they really mold to my feet--like walking barefoot...
  18. Hi Donna--I'm glad you had a nice birthday--and some productive shopping! I love crop pants, too, and wear them almost all the time in the summer. I actually bought a new pair of khaki ones today. I used to use Proactiv--I probably used it for 7-8 years straight (had it sent automaticly). I stopped last year, when my skin began to get dry for the first...
  19. Lister--So happy to her that things are turning around for you--that's great!!! Those medical bills have to be a big load off your mind. I just knew things were going to get better--and you hung on and proved me right! Onward and upward
  20. Aw Rachel--that's awful that you were so sick all week! I was hoping that the reason you weren't posting much was because you were busy enjoying your vacation! Here's hoping that by the time your next one comes, the med will have kicked in and you can really enjoy yourself. Did you get some rest, though?
  21. Ouch!--After that, you certainly deserved a treat
  22. Hi Elizabeth--I also react to peanut butter I actually am intolerant to all legumes (which includes peanuts). How do you do with soy, beans, string beans, peas, chic peas? Those are all legumes, (I seem to be intolerant to every one of them) Not long ago, I asked Robb over in the Sports/Fitness Forum about legumes and he said that people who have autoimmune...
  23. Not only did iron suppliments not help, I had a surgical procedure to reduce my heavy monthly bleeding a year before my diagnosis, and even that didn't put a dent in my anemia.
  24. I had lots of brusing before my diagnosis. Often, I wouldn't know how I got them! Some were regular-looking (black and blue), and some were small and brownish. I was also severly anemic. I know that a lack of iron and/or a lack of vitamin K can cause bruising. After 6 months on the gluten-free diet, my iron levels returned to normal, and the bruising...
  25. Hi Ashley--I've not had these, but I've heard good things about them-- Open Original Shared Link
