  1. We always look to gluten as our go-to something made me feel like dirt, when we might be looking in the wrong direction. I was diagnosed a month before you and it took me a diary to figure out what bothers me besides gluten. Hoping to get some of them back after I heal. Good luck and hope you find the offending food.

Not really impressive, kind of scary. I didn't change my diet or exercise and lost 168 pounds. I also didn't change my diet or exercise to gain that much weight either lol. Celiac is messed up.
  3. Most labs only test up to 100. They usually ( can't say in this instance) have a cut off for things like this because once you get so high, the numbers beyond don't mean anything, and the higher you try to test, the less accurate the final result will be. This is why it's good to draw the whole panel so they can compare all the results since some of those...
  4. What was her labs before gluten free? If her antibody levels were greater than 100 before gluten free, there is no way to tell how much over 100 it could have been, it could have been 10,000. The levels take time to go down. Not everybody's bodies heal at the same rate either.
  5. I would get a new doctor. Ask for your pathology slides to get a second opinion. If this isn't a viable option, go gluten free and live as a celiac. There is no " mild celiac sprue", you have it or you don't. The line on the pregnancy test might be light pink or dark pink, but it's still a line. That being said, I had multiple lost pregnancies. This was...
  6. Once you get those lab results, post them here. It will help so much more for us to interpret them. Don't let the doctors try and tell you nothing is to be worried about. This is not normal. Keep bothering them and if you don't get the answers you think are correct, see another doctor. My previous doctor didn't want to test my children after I was diagnosed...
  7. Me too!!! Hoping for you and me lol

I hope this wasn't me for the last few years and I just didn't know it or no one told me, I've lost more than I weigh now!
  9. I DONT MISS MIGRAINES! Sorry, had to get that point across. I haven't had one in almost nine months after having them for almost 32 years. YAY
  10. It is disheartening to hear " it takes time" and have no one be able to give you a time frame. But just think how nice it will be to feel "normal", what ever the h that is lol.
  11. That's awesome! What a way to ring in a New Year.
  12. I love brain fog lol. I was like " what she talking about licking for"?
  13. I've been having issues where my words just stop. They don't stutter like Bart's do. A few seconds later it's fine. I guess a better way to explain it is I will type, the words are slow to come to the page ( sometimes a few words behind), and then a word will pop up missing letters that I know I typed)
  14. I'm not sure how long ago you were diagnosed, but I know in the information booklet I received from my doctor was severely outdated. A lot of the things in that booklet that it told me to stay away from, were incorrect. I know modified food starch was one of them. You might have to do some more research. With the new labeling laws they have to disclose allergens...
  15. The free kindle book store has gluten free cookbooks, I haven't read them yet, but got a few of them for free.
  16. Not only that Nicole, but people also don't produce the antibodies at the same rate or the same time of their illness. I often wonder since I was sick for 37 years and my tTg was only 37, would I have tested positive a few years ago? We will never know, unless they follow gene positive people from birth until diagnosis ( should they become celiac). I think...
  17. this made me lol, thank you

I'm glad we did the work ourselves, for one we couldn't afford to pay someone, and two it was rewarding for me to accomplish something when I've felt so useless without working the last nine months. The only thing I wasn't going to tackle was the windows. I paid someone for that. We still have a floor to lay in our bathroom but are having problems trying...

I actually haven't tackled too much baking in the last 8 months. I haven't been the most excited about food. I'm getting there though. I'm researching bread and pizza crust recipes right now. I've been slowly making my own spice blends, condiments, and so on. Being soy, gluten, lactose free and egg light, it's difficult finding foods in the store. I've made...

    Thank you.
  21. Bob's Red Mill is my favorite crust I've tried so far. I just miss a thick crust, greasy, cheesy pizza. One I don't have to make myself! lol
  22. I need to do that. I first had sushi a year ago, only had it once but loved it. Having soy problems make it hard to go somewhere even if you didn't have to worry about cc. I live in a smaller area though and some of that stuff is hard to find. I miss things that I think I don't need to miss, I just need to learn how to make them lol. I miss fried wontons...
  23. I'm not sure really what they told you about Celiac, but you can't eat gluten at all, have to stick to a 100% gluten free diet. It isn't so much of intolerance as it cause an autoimmune reaction in your small intestines, gluten destroys the villi. A breadcrumb is enough to cause the autoimmune reaction. Sure it's an intolerance, it makes you sick, but it...
  24. Not all gluten related items made me sick all the time. Before diagnosis I ate gluten all the time and wasn't sick all the time, a lot of it, but not like when I eat gluten now. I only had really bad stomach issues a few times a year, pain related that is. Other wise all it was was constipation for me. You will be in denial for a while, you're giving up something...
