  2. Walmart....diabetic testing supplies, they sell kits I got the redi on ones, Just a meter, lance, test strips, lances, and if you do not have them alcohol swabs. You can get the complete kit or get them seperate. I will admit it is intriguing seeing how your blood sugar consides with moods, and fluctuates with your meals and what you eat and cravings. Always...
  3. On a side note to this, I suspected the same thing due to my issues with night sweats and constant getting up in the night, and was suggested I get a glucose testing kit, reader, strips, lances, lancer all for under $14. I started testing my glucose daily, fasting, and after meals for awhile there. While this has showed no signs of me being a diabetic, it...
  4. I run a gluten free bakery and we use LorAnnOils products all gluten-free. From there we make our own sugar free icings with the flavors and colors using swerve confectionery sweetener or powdered xylitol and arrowroot.
  5. I think it had something to do with a combination of your body fighting inflammation, and the ratios of magnesium, potassium, sodium, and vitamin C. Higher magnesium and sodium before bed helps to retain water though the night. Potassium and vitamin C cause you to keep going. Oddly enough any of these in high amounts leads to bottomless thirst.....I suck...
  6. Open Original Shared Link Also check out Julian bakery for grain free options of granola, cheese, bread, wraps, These can all be ordered on amazon even Vans stuff so you can get them even if not in the stores....Yeah I found the cheese odd, not quite right but the fact they ship it to me and no need to go get it in the city saves me alot.
  7. I love this analogy, I have such a similar view but mine sorta had a odd side effect. I see people eating gluten now days and I think of them as some alien chugging antifreeze and eating rat poison. Sorta causes a bit of detachment and I know my disgust and that look of they are crazy shows lol. But hey people that are highly allergic to coconut and almonds...
  8. Probably is, as mentioned before, it is not just the oats with cheerios, the gluten-free oat sorting method...is mechanical, as in when separating the oats from random wheat grain contamination it just moves the grains out, they still touched....they were still mixed, This leads to random hot spots in batches where the gluten content can be above 20ppm. GFwatchdog...
  9. Hmm could be the chocolate, I would try rotating her off the dairy chocolate (Enjoy Life and Gerbs make dairy free). I personally feel fatigued with even lactose free dairy products due to issues withe it in general. See how she feels in a few days then perhaps try it again. And boom you might find your culprit give a few days on and few days off completely...
  10. NOT AT ALL, i have CCed myself by touching s$#& all the time. Becomes a tad obvious when it happens between meals lol. I tend to pop mints and gum all day, so quite easy for me, I also bite my nails when nervous, anyway good luck and hope it was not your meal....I know how much that sucks done that a few times. LOL last time I got come CCed canned beets,...
  11. Any clue what caused it? Did you eat out, let someone else fix your food, not use a gluten-free dedicated cooking ware, try a new brands? I wish you luck, some-days especially around finals, testing, etc. you might be better off rotating to gluten-free Certified packaged foods, meal replacement shakes etc. to be 100% sure your on you game even if it gets...
  12. Seems a bit unfair I know you having to suffer from all the testing and changing then she just goes oh well I seem to have similar issues I must have it then gets the the diagnosis without the weeks of the challenge suffering and testing......but this disease is mostly a genetic issues, if you and others already have offical dia. she is very likey to have...
  13. Keep a food journal to help identify issues, writing down everything, condiment, spice, food, etc you eat and how you feel a few hours later. My guess is might have gotten a crumb from a condiment jar, food container, silverware drawer, or somehow gotten a bit of gluten residue from something on your hands before fixing food. Double check all your foods,...
  14. I also wished to follow a culinary career. I started selling gluten free baked goods and snacks at farmers markets, doing private chef work for a few people, and dream of opening a gluten free food trailer. >.> Fundraiser for this has been a flop so far but I keep wishing for some business partner or philanthropist to show up lol. I find I can only...
  15. I had issues with bloating, fatigue, and distention with carbs in general. Ended up I had UC and the carbs were causing flare ups where my intestines would swell with inflammation. Ketogenic diet with a focus on fats and protein helped there. But your issues sound mostly like deficiencies issues. Did you ever supplement? Those of us with celiac have...
  16. Feel free to try what ever diet works for you and modify it a bit to make it a tad more healthy. PS plain rice noodles from JUST rice are available from the lundberg rice company. I would personally just avoid all processed foods, Anything with added sugars, or questionable content. I personally found my perfect diet just this last month by eliminating all...
  17. There are a bunch of really good gluten-free noodles, and canyon makes some damn good bagles I hear....I can not eat them due to issues with carbs but you sure can. Just changing brands pretty much. We do suggest avoiding processed foods for the first few months though....I think lundberg makes a rice only option.
  18. WELL you do not have to eat a lot of gluten for the testing, just a wheat cracker or half a slice of bread a day. I might suggest taking it at night before bed and sleeping off the worst of the hyde syndrome it triggers (What I call the gluten mood swings). I will admit I have had a whole hell of a lot of mental trauma and family issues with gluten. And...
  19. Funny thing growing up, first like 20 years of my life were pretty normal and gluten heavy diet. Thinking back for me around middle school I started falling behind mental wise behind the other kids just a tad slower to do things, And I started having slight constipation around this time. By Jr. High I considered going once or twice a week normal and highschool...
  20. I use Luckyvitamin.com, and for B-vitamins I use liquid health brand Stress and energy along with neurological support complex half dose each 3times a day. I find it being in liquid form it is easier to get in my system and less pills. I just mix it in a drink.
  21. You will be better off with coconut water here. A blend of bioflovoids, vitamin C, Magnesium, and potassium will do wonders with your circulation and coconut water is naturally high in electrolytes. I used to drink it before my issues with sugars started last year. Since then I had to start taking them all in different form without the sugars. Funny thing...
  22. OUCH, I live off of nuts, and all carbs/sugars cause me to bloat, and feel like crap. But I have UC and it causes my intestines to swell when they get sugars, dairy, etc. I personally eat a bunch of low carb stir fry, veggie sautes with wilted greens, soups omelettes, etc. And I Focus on a ketogenic diet of just fats and protein. >.< I can not digest...
  23. With the constipation issues alot of it related to magnesium absorption issues, It will help to keep moisture in your intestines and make it easier to pass. I suggest the Nature Vitality CALM version if you have constipation start with 1/4 dose 2-3 times a day and slowly work it up. The magnesium Citrate in it will help get you moving. If even at that does...
  24. Sounds like celiac, need to wait for the testing to be sure. While we do suggest a whole foods diet for the first few months to jumpstart healing there is a huge list of gluten free options for most of your gluten staples even a gluten free hot pocket lol. I will give you a link to gluten-free food alternative list. Think of it has just changing brands...
