ARCHIVED Where Do You Buy Your Quinoa?
Serielda replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have tried the red quinoa at trader Joes, it was ok, bit I get Eden Organics at whole Foods, it has a better listing of nutrients. Also try farmers markets, we have one in a neighboring town that sells my fave one 2.00 less, but it's a pain to get to that little market. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Is Good For Cats Too!
Serielda replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Our little Constatine, actually eats Core wellness's gluten free kitty food or Blue Buffalo's gluten free foods. Which is cute because he actually likes it better than what his foster had him on. He recently had an exam last saturday, and the dr. was super impressed at his stats. They remarked to have been a stray before he is super healthy. When I remarked... -
ARCHIVED New To Celiac And Struggling, Need Some Advice.
Serielda replied to JennyD's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hey Jenny, I am new as well, I was diagnosed in June, and trust me I understand fully the frustrations your experiencing. (Hugs). I myself have lost friends who wanted to argue it was all in my head based off of idiots like kimmel, Fallon. And others. I politely told them it is what it is and if I can accept their annoyances of conditions they have ,... -
The time before last, that is what I did do, nurse a glass of wine for the event and things went good. However the last time I was a bit to experiemental. Side note I am going over my food log again and doing research on everything to make sure that I did not miss something that may have been overlooked.

Ok so I've been very vigilant at what is in my food, and reading labels like a hawk, but this week I've noticed a few oddities. At this point I will mention things may hit a borderline tmi. So Thursday I had to attend a company meeting, and they had drinks, being little Ms. Researcher I looked up what brands and spirits are safe to consume. So I saved...

ARCHIVED Amy's Sonoma Veggie Burgers
Serielda replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have two ways of viewing Amy's products. One as a vegan pre diag, I loooooved my Amy's products that was vegan. Can't say I ever had anything by them that I didn't enjoy. Pre diagnosis, I won't touch anything by Amy's, as it is made in a shared facility. I know they do there best to try and make things safe, but from reasearch I have done online, I myself... -
ARCHIVED Stumbling Over Words When Glutened?
Serielda replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The last time I was accidently glutened, it was not pretty. I was happily off that mess for 2months and after a very busy and chaotic day, hubby and I decided to go out for a treat. Did we go to the normal place we go that we both know is safe for me to eat nooooooo. I get the wild hair up my bottom to go to PF Changs during peak period business. In the... -
ARCHIVED Getting Over Paranoia Of Being Glutened.
Serielda posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
So the other day I went out to get new clothing as I needed some, since kicking gluten out of my life, I have dropped 20lbs. So while shopping my hubby commented hon, why do you keep picking your old size of clothing and I stopped and felt really stupid for my reply, but honestly due to a phobia of accidently getting glutened I tend to wear clothing that... -
ARCHIVED So Tired, Can't Stay Awake.
Serielda replied to beth01's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Bingo, that sounds eerily familar here, from the last time I had an acccident and was exposed to gluten. That lull in your mind and body that wants sleep, except for me the horrid cramping and bloating interfers and makes the cycle even more vicious. Also feels like me for the past few days, not sure what I came in contact with as my hubby and I have... -
Good question, I tend to be happy 85% of the time, up until a year ago, I was living a nightmare, and depressed after a patch of bad luck when the recession hit back in 08. During that time I had a lot of people be real mean jerks to me, but that is my past. I recently looked at my life and started taking notes at what is good going on. Life is getting...

Just giving an update at what all is going on right now. Since I am being exposed to so much new stuff going on, I am trying out a mentorship deal at work, with coding, so that ha been eating up a ton of my time. It's all part of my new things to do and try to improve myself. Anyone else working on new things that seems interesting fill me in, as I do not...

It's a tiny town apparently named Zanesville, Ohio. I saw it and had to laugh, as a celiac I'd be very upset if some one stole my toilet. -

Ok, so I found an hot tea, that I liked that stated that it was gluten-free, ( some teas do contain preservatives that contain gluten) but when drinking it today I noted a headache coming on and a mild discomfort in my stomach. To travel a bit and was often hooked up with accommodations that gave me a mini kitchen to cook with. See if that csn happen for you, so things won't be so crazy. Now when I travel I always ask and see if possible. As of late it...

ARCHIVED Gluten Funny....but Maybe Not?
Serielda replied to SMRI's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree Chocominties, it is one thing to laugh with people but another to realize your being laughed at. Going back to my event before my diagnosis, the joke that was being pitched was not funny to us as we was not sure what the dude was even talking about and when we put two and two together, it wasn't funny because laughing at anyones expense was not... -

ARCHIVED Gluten Funny....but Maybe Not?
Serielda replied to SMRI's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Gluten free autos hmmm. I'm still kinda laughing at what I heard out of a particular bar on Bourbon st one night . One of the barkers was proclaiming the establishments entertainers was 100% organic and gluten free. I remember my hubby and I stopping and asking what did that mean? This of course was pre-diagnosis days, and just kinda shrugged wondering... -
