I am sorry that happened to you,(hugs) any more with me I eat at home because of the last time a restaurant glutened me. P.F. Chang's in the past had been a good experience but the last time was anything but. With in a little while I felt beyond terrible and at that point I was done with them. This was back in August before my diet got modified drastically...

ARCHIVED Nascar Superbowl Ad Takes A Jab At The gluten-free Diet
Serielda replied to nvsmom's topic in Publications & Publicity
There are reports only the online version is edited and it has aired as the original circulating the Internet. With that said reader beware it is the internet which in short can be a tempest in a teapot. Tomorrow we shall find out and I hope NBC pulls that line. I did sign the petition as I saw it a doorway for potential bullying and making our lives as celiacs... -
ARCHIVED Dealing With People At Work
Serielda replied to I-want-nachos's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
With gluten the topic rarely comes up but I work the graveyard shift. Now when I was vegan (my gi and gp took me off of it not my choice) did I constantly get poked fun of. Most of my workmates are very understanding and supportive as they seen in the past how much suffering I had to deal with in the aspect of gluten-free eating. -
ARCHIVED Pre-Packaged Guacamole
Serielda replied to I-want-nachos's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Let's Talk Baloney With Joy Behar - Huffington Post
Serielda replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
Well when your a washed up has been, some will do anything for attention like j*y did. I refuse to say or spell her name as its getting her name ratings both good and bad. I think she said it for attention to draw ppl to her Facebook and stuff and sadly we are giving her what she wants attention. I put her ugliness right up there with Miley and her younger... -
ARCHIVED Tea Bags
Serielda replied to mynxr's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
What Kareng said is right, plus there are gluten-free teas out there that seriously rock. In fact a huge selection of the republic of tea and two leaves is my fave brands. If you love tea it is easy to find safe ones out there. But be advised if your corn sensitive avoid Lipton as I have in the past noticed that corn by products was in the ingredients list... -

ARCHIVED Van's Waffles Make Me Dizzy?
Serielda replied to Ms. Isley's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I also can attest Vans waffles in the past before I went grain free and pre diagnosis would make me quite ill. thing is I could eat or drink some soy items and not feel the effects that vans waffles gave me. I honestly would love to know what's up with them. Does anyone know if vans processing plant is a mixed ingredient facility? It has been a very long... -

Serielda replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Our cat Constatine is gluten free. He eats core wellness indoor gluten and grain free dry food as well as their wet food. For special treats he gets Blue Buffalo's wilderness bites in chicken and trout. Also his dry leave in shampoo is gluten-free as well. -
ARCHIVED Paleo Diet... Did It Really Help?
Serielda replied to alesusy's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Currently paleo, and in my case it is helping despite my on and off again gripping about it. I am able to do a lot more now that was unheard of when I ate grains. I grumble on and off about it, but it's mostly because I want to be vegan like I was pre-surgery, however one my Dr.s recommended I do it as he feared I was also reacting badly to other grains.... -
ARCHIVED Normalizing Sleep Patterns?
Serielda replied to BlessedMommy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I can agree with the hormonal issues very much so post hysterectomy in 2011, I thought i was doomed to be an insomniac for the rest of my life. But that over time tonned down, now I have issues if I eat a lot of photoestorgenic foods. Now when I first started my journey of gluten free, I had some wicked sleep issues, and once in a while I still do.... -
ARCHIVED Most Ridiculous Gluten Comment I've Heard
Serielda replied to C-Girl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Was in New Orleans recently and saw two things that made me laugh. One was Voodoo dolls with a sign stating they was gluten free, the other was a bit odder. It was some sort of candle that was allegedly blessed to prevent being glutened and or cross contaminated. I looked at my hubby and if only these worked. -
I honestly would felt a bit left out at first, but get over it and Laugh to myself about being spared from all the junk food. Time to time I still get quirky and feel left out around certain events, but I remind myself I'm better off not participating in the food freak outs. Heck last birthday I had, I was shocked by an awesome and gorgeous gluten-free cake...

ARCHIVED Anyone Know Anything About Giant Eagle Rotisserie Chicken?
Serielda replied to Monklady123's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I do not know much about the way Giant Eagle does things, but I do know a lot of similar stores like Winn-Dixie, Resibecks, Rouses, down where I am do not list theirs as gluten-free. I asked one time and their deli specialist advised me not to pick one as there was potential of cross contamination due to shared space. -

ARCHIVED Major <3 For Andalou Naturals
Serielda posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Just treated myself to a home spa and had earlier picked up a few of Andalou Naturals facial line, which made me ecstatic in how it was brazenly labeled Celtic safe. The aroma of the products cured me of a highly stressful night due to a big bag of insane people. If you've not experienced this guys products, your missing it. Normally I don't flip out and... -

ARCHIVED Two Weeks gluten-free And Some Questions
Serielda replied to Stacy0w's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I've been at this since June and thought I was good until parties, and holidays came up and I became kinda emo. What is being said above is true on grieving and dealing with this. It does get a bit better tho. -
Ok the hubby wants to go out New Years eve, however I'm still shying away from going out to chill with friends due to lifestyle changes I had to make. Since October I was told to avoid alcohol due to post gallbladder issues and I'm used to having 2-3 drinks on new yrs. I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb, and find drinking mocktails silly and embarrassing...

ARCHIVED Odd That's All I Got For It Right Now.
Serielda posted a topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Something strange is my best description at the moment, that feels eerily familiar in a not fun way. This morning, I started to feel really out of it, eg extremely tired falling asleep on the sofa with aching joints and heavy feeling arms and legs. Following fun moments of where is my brains today as in misplacing items I am holding while turning my house... -

ARCHIVED How To Stop The Immune Attack?
Serielda replied to Seeking2012's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I can say avoidance is the best method, eg eat at home to have better control of what is in your food. It took me awhile to do that but in my town we have a gluten free allergen free restaurant I <3. ! but after having to retool my diet getting rid of other grains I can't really go there. But as of once the problematic food item has been eaten, I go for...
