  1. Okay, I'll talk to myself then!

Has anyone mentioned lately that the EM products are gluten free?! There, public service announcement complete. :P

    Hum, today's new products:

Lavendar concealor. Okay I guess...doesn't knock off my favorite Sunlight from the top of the list though, or the second place Intensive either, lol.

Peach blush. WAY too light for me as a blush, so since I had that powdered look on my cheeks I figured it would be a good time to put on my 50/50 Mojave/Car Pool mix, lol. That actually looked pretty good over the way too light Peach blush. :P I also put the 50/50 mix on my eyes in the crease and lash line (over my fav Ping Pong).

Sunkissed Fair (Beige category) foundation. I think I tried this before but in the intensive formula, so I ordered samples of the matte and semi-matte. Today I tried matte...looks VERY nice, lol.

  2. Well, I'm still sick and it's been stupid busy at work...everytime I try to post here or at OMG someone brings me work!:lol:

So, I tried Ping Pong and Ginger Peach (two of my most favorite eyecolors) as blushes...both looked very nice as blush!

Today I tried Tea Time blush...pretty nice, but not enough to knock off my top 5, lol.

I actually LIKE the lip gloss they sent out as the special this last time. I haven't liked any of the others so far. This one doesn't really have much color, but it also isn't a weird "too light" color either...actually looks decent under one of my other sheer glosses.

I didn't really put on any eye makeup today...no sense what with watering eyes and all.

Someone told me I looked pale today, so I guess until I get over whatevertheheckthisis I should go to a darker shade of foundation, lol.

I tried a 50/50 mix of car pool and mojave, but it was still too red, but may be able to use that as a blush...don't know.

Has anyone tried smokey pink as a blush? I really don't like it as an eyecolor, but tried a little on my arm and think it might work as a blush.

Thanks. I really have liked my EM better since applying these tips. I hope it works for you.

    ...

I will have to find some online and try that. Someone suggested I get a coke spoon to measure. I said oh, yeah, and everyone will believe me when I say I only use it for measuring my makeup, lol.

    ...

OK, now I know you were actually on your deathbed and no one told us.

    ...

The main reason I ordered the kit was to get the brush so I could leave it at my condo in Tulsa. What they sent instead was a really crummy dimestore looking angled brush. It looks like what you would get in a cheap set at walmart. In fact, my little $10 set from walmart has a much nicer brush than this one. I hope this is not a sign of things to come with EM.

Yes, the tips do seem to work well.

    on the coke spoon!

Yes, there was actually a point last week where I thought it might be the end--actually worried about who would tell you all. :P

That stupid angled black brush is, well, stupid. I got that in two of my mini eyeshadow kits, but got one of the nice ones in another. One of the black angled brushes broke while I was using it, but the other one is holding up okay. I like the two ended one better...it's got an angled brush on one end and a comb (or is it the brush, lol) on the other end.

To make matters even worse, I just realized I did not get the special with my order, nor did I get the discount. I just now realized that. I don't know how that happened, because I know I put the code in and made sure I had enough to qualify. In fact, the code is still showing up in may cart.

Dang, now I am feeling even worse about that whole order.

Did you navigate away from the order page at any time (like to check a color or something), because you have to apply the discount code each time you navigate away.

On the Phone or Scented Candles??

Hum, for once I think I have no opinion, lol. I think I thought both were okay.

Spreadsheet!! Be sure to include location.

No the other day, all my cases fell out of my train cases and the girls picked some of them and hid them from me, now they are talling me they wont tell me were they are cause is april fools day.

    OMGosh...them's fighting words!

  3. Thanks all! I've missed you too. I thought about you often, but just couldn't sit at the computer for longer than a few minutes.

Thought I was turning a corner, but had to cancel my massage appointment today cuz I just didn't feel like I could handle being on the table for an hour, and you all know how much I LOVE my massages. :( Stupid bugs!

I actually had chills again today!! I haven't had those in a couple of days. Dang stupid bugs!:lol:

  4. Hello everyone, I'm baaaaccccckkkkk (sort of, lol). I'm still not all here, but at least I can sit upright for more than a few minutes. I've had some sort of nasty viral thing....had a fever for a few days, but saw the doctor on Wednesday and she said my lungs were clear, so not bronchitis or pneumonia (yet anyway). I have a wicked cough that comes on suddenly...I actually pulled a muscle in my chest and head one one viscious attack. :P

I have to tell you guys...I feel horrible, been getting some bad stuff sneaking into my diet, and my Crohn's is acting up....I haven't worn makeup since Saturday, and I feel horrible, felt like I looked so washed out and nasty. I did my regular concealer/foundation/finishing powder routine, and was very conservative with the rest....Pick Me Up, a little bit of Corner Office, and a touch of Starry Eyed in the outer corners, very light....no liner, just mascara, and a touch of Corner Office on my cheeks....my husband came home and commented that he thought I wasn't feeling well, because I was absolutely glowing....well hello, thank you EM, I feel like crap and no one can tell! How great is that?

Hope you are feeling better by now! I haven't worn makeup in 7 days now! :o Didn't really care WHAT I looked like when I went to the doctor, and my only other ventures out were to the grocery store and to Walgreen's to get more kleenex and decongestant, lol. Didn't care what I looked like for any of that. :P Went out in my pajamas even.

Fellow cult members, please forgive me, but I have strayed.

Oh, okay, since you supplied GREAT application tips, I guess you are forgiven!

 Seriously, I'm going to try the silk dust tip!

Today i mixed mojave and plum dust and it gave me a great looking blush that im in love with. Yesterday i used plum dust as an eye shadow and it was very very pretty. Im in love with the pkum dust color lol.

    See, isn't mixing fun!

Ok i felt i should bump this up since donna is sick.

    Excellent job!

My big problem is not being able to consistantly create the same mix. Sometimes it is a little lighter, sometimes a little darker. I need something small enough to accurately measure the the components so I can get consistent mixing results.

I bought a little set of measuring spoons at Bed, Bath...they are really tiny, like 1/8th tsp, etc. I've been using those to make my mixes.

I haven't been feeling too well myself, but I got up the courage to try the Lavender Everydaywear. It's a rather heavy... way too heavy to be worn under foundation during the day, but it's wonderful to put on at night! It gets absorbed into the skin... and isn't lavender supposed to be anti-inflamatory and anti-acne?

Oooh, makes me want to try it! I haven't been too interested in the creams, but now maybe. :P

Face and Blush colors: New Car Smell (made the regular line up) and Wet Sand (that is new isn't it?)

New Car definitely is new, Wet Sand has been around a while...I must go check the site to see what's going on.

I HAVE AN ORDER ON MY DESK AT WORK!!!!! I haven't been at work for 6 work days, so knowing it's there is killing me, lol.

the redhead with the goldfinger eyes

 Totally cracked me up!!!!

    Hope you are feeling better!

For a creamy beige/white brow bone highlighter would you guys recommend Floating Feathers, Good China, or Rare Silk?

I see you ordered Good China...excellent choice...LOVE that.

I consider myself the Grand Duchess of eyeshadow colors (Donna is the Queen  ) since I have over 40 colors now. I have all of those colors you mentioned. I would definitely go with Good China.

    Excellent advice!

  5. Morning everyone...I'm among the semi-living again. Whatever the heck this is has just knocked me down for the count. I'm on day 7 or 8 now, and still can't quite function. I've sort of skimmed the posts, but not really able to catch up.

I saw my HN doctor on Wednesday...fortunately it ISN'T pneumonia or bronchitis, but it's trying to be I think. I had a fever for a few days, but I think that's gone now.

And yeah Julie, my head is VERY toxic.

  6. Re the greens...I have them all, lol, including some free special colors they gave out at Christmas. I actualy like all the greens, and I'm not usually a "color" person. Emerald might work for what you want...it's not dark enough for me for a liner, so it would probably work as your dark smokey green...but there's definitely no sparkle to it.

In the garden has a touch of green in it and it's sparkly, but won't really look "green" on I think.

Speaking of mixing...I did my formal mix of Car Pool and Mojave today...actually two different official mixes. I used a tiny measuring spoon. Anyway, I made one mix as a darker lavendar...just the color I've been looking for, and I made the other one with a bit more mojave in it...I was considering mixing in some of the feathers for some lightness, but didn't do it yet until I try these colors as they are first.

  7. Wow, what a mess! I don't know about the charcoal...it's a binder, and I know they give it to people who have ingested harmful substances, but not sure whether it works with bacterial stuff.

Scarey to think that salmonella can get into the water supply!

  8. Well, I have two .... one is vegetarian!

If I brown meats, I use that skillet .... I scrape it with the spatula the best I can, and scrub as little as I can. It generally needs a little more cleaning.

The other skillet, I never need to do more than scrape with a spatula and rinse. If that doesn't get it clean, I wipe it with a paper towel to see if that will ... the scrubby messes it up and it takes a couple times of cooking and oiling to get it back.

When I cook, I warm the skillet to allow the oil to penetrate before I start cooking.

Donna, you could try reseasoning in the oven. You can google for lots of suggestions on that.

I use spectrum shortening for seasoning. You get it warm, then rub on the shortening, then put in the oven (I forget the temperature) for awhile. 30 min to an hour is what I remember. Since you are having trouble, you might do that twice and see what happens.

Okay, I'll try all of these suggestions, lol! I use it mostly for frying meat, so maybe that's where I'm going wrong.

:P We have to get our vegetables someway, why not with chocolate?

I've served these and watched peoples' faces change from a reluctant willingness to taste them to astonishment at how delicious they are. I love to blow peoples' tiny little minds, mine snapped years ago.:lol:

Hum, well I can't wait until THESE are marketed then. :P

  9. A properly seasoned cast iron skillet is so much better than non-stick!! I just rinse mine and dry it with a paper towel! It doesn't even need washing!

I can't get mine like that, lol. I don't use soap, I just rinse and use a scrubby pad because bits of food stick, then dry it with a towel...I put oil on it immediately while it's still hot/warm and let that sit, then wipe it out. I have to do that every single time I use it, lol. What the heck am I doing wrong?!

There's a lot of good information actually, it should be documented, or spreadsheeted or something!

Probably won't be me for a while, lol. I actually TRIED this once, but gave up because my lymie brain couldn't deal with it all. :P

When he told me he wanted to see me again in 6 months, I asked "Why? Out of idle curiosity?".

 OMGosh, that is a GREAT answer!!!!!! I LOVE it!!!

  10. which resembles an icecream sandwich and it is made with vegetables.

Something so veeeerrrrryyyyy wrong about that statement!!! Glad you're back Rinne!!!

I really need feedback on my GI appt this afternoon. I'm feeling very unsatisfied. Wondering if I'm right to feel this way or if I'm blowing things out of proportion.

    ...

Do you think I'm justified in wanting to find a new GI?

Yeah, probably justified. It's hard enough to cope with all that we've got going on without having our doctors dismiss us. I hate when they give up!

I just read through the first 100 pages of this thread :o I was getting a little nostalgic I guess with Rachel mentioning it was near the 2 year anniversary of the thread, and then Rinne's recent posts.

It seems like a life time ago, yet I remember all of that like it was yesterday.

Has anyone kept in touch with Evie?

Good times, lol! I haven't seen Evie in a while now...she came on a few months ago to say she was okay, but nothing since then.

  11. I ordered again today. I was so afraid they might discontinue my favorites, that I got a full-sized kit just ordering my favorites. So I ordered full sizes of:

    Pink Ribbon

    Nick Nack

    DVR Saturday

    Ping Pong

    Ginger Peach

    Samba Lessons

and a new one for me: Silk Dust

Oh, and of course another sample kit. :P

I'm getting the silk dust to add to other things to sort of "dilute" the color and perhaps add a bit of shine control.

My new product for the day is Peach Color Corrector. I used it as a concealor and it worked just fine. Still, nothing quite replaces Sunlight in my heart. :P

Colleen - I've tried the tinted silk dust and the summer silk dust. I did think the summer silk dust was slightly grainy when I first used it, but not enough to bother me or not use it (well, except the color is too bold for me, lol). I used tinted silk dust this morning all over my face, including my eyes, and I didn't find it to be grainy. I ordered the plain silk dust this morning, so I'll see when that arrives.

I haven't reused my sample jars yet...in fact just threw out a couple yesterday. But I may use them to create some of my odd mixtures, lol.

  12. Paula, hope all goes well at court. You must report back as to exactly what makeup you wore!! Oh yeah, and on the results of the court appearance!

Well, looks like three blushes disappeared! Noticing that the line ending was different on the last row of colors, I had to pull out my trusty spreadsheet to compare colors. I couldn't find Anytime, Chit Chat or Splendid! I hadn't ordered Chit Chat or Splendid yet...can't say I'll miss Anytime...it's a good eye color though, but what I have will last forever, lol.

Today I'm revisiting Hot Chocolate and Well Being. Not in love with either color today, lol. When I find the handful of colors I truly love I'm ordering a large container. :P

  13. Well, I liked the misting effect. The directions on the can say to spray, then wait a moment, then pat....which are pretty much the instructions for the True Minerals I tried between BE and EM. I liked the misting effect, but their mist tasted awful (and their minerals broke me out)...and it always ended up in my mouth somehow. Anyway, you sprayed that then patted with a cosmetic sponge. So I pulled out the sponges that came with the True Minerals and patted the Evian with it. Very nice indeed. Felt good too. I imagine this will REALLY feel good in the summer! :P Face still looked good 4 hours later.

Nothing too new today...I decided I like Golden Light better than Olive Light for me...matches my neck better and doesn't seem to change colors. The Olive seems to get just a hair darker as the day goes no...not in a bad way, but just darker...I don't need darker, lol.

Revisited Rare Silk. Didn't love it as much as when I first tried it, but still not a bad color.

New color today was Baby Sitter. I was afraid, very afraid, but boldly stuck my brush in the tiniest of piles of the color. It went into the crease and on the corner of my eye. I was not convinced. However, after putting on mascara and some mystic night as a liner, it looked pretty good. Not a color I'll wear often, but still nice. When I got home 4 hours later, it actually had all settled in together and looked very nice...it didn't scream BLUE, lol.
