  1. Okay, one more question about the serra peptase. If it breaks down whatever is taken near it, wouldn't that also include other supplements? I'm going to have to figure a different schedule if THAT is the case because I take a bunch of stuff 30 minutes before breakfast...no sense taking the serra peptase then if it's just going to break down the supplements.

I may end up taking it in the middle of the night...I stopped taking the charcoal then, so I could just take the serra peptase at that time. Then I just need to figure out another time during the day when I'm not eating or taking supplements. :P

Oddly enough, I seem to charge batteries. Its handy for the remote. Can usually get a couple of extra weeks to a few months out of the batteries if I hold them in my hands for 2-3 minutes. Go figure.

    Wow, very handy, lol!! :P

you are really making me want to try gluten!! but i don't know I ahd shown severe intolerance to it an di ahve not had any(at least not on purpose in years) It would be an interesting experiment.

I know, the thought has cross my mind too. I haven't done a gluten challenge in a long time, lol.

  2.
How interesting. I wonder if I'm currently making that mistake. I'm fair with blue veins and I don't tan well (and I'm Scandinavian) which makes me think I'd be cool. People tell me I look good in brown and earth tones though, so  . It's very strange..I don't look good in ivory or off-white but I do look good in browns and olives. Maybe my samples of the buff neutrals will work.

Well, I DO still look good in some of the "cool" category colors, but when I got my sample from the "golden" category, it just looked so much more natural. So far I look good in 4 (or is it 5) categories...some cool, some warm. It's very strange.

I guess I am wanting to experiement more to find my best match before I buy a full size container.

Do you think this book would be helpful for me to get Donna?? Does he say anything about Native American/Irish/Scottish skin?

Yeah, I haven't wanted to commit to a full sized container YET for that same reason...just want to experiment with the different categories. I would have been happy with the cool toned foundation, but I'm glad I didn't order until I'd tried the warmer colors too.

I may also have both...one cool and one warm. Several people on the EM boards have two foundations...one for summer and one for winter. I think our skin changes from a variety of things and season can be one of them, lol.

I don't think he specifically mentions your mix, lol...I'll double check later though.

Hm... that's interesting, although I've been compared to Snow White before! I noticed that when I wasn't in constant pain, and after I went off gluten my skin darkened. I had to go up a shade in the stuff I was using before.

Yeah, see my comment to Julie about having two shades of foundation. Some people on the EM board have to change foundations with the season. :(

About 15 years ago I was fortunate enough to attend a "color" seminar put on by FIT from NYC and was "draped" and found that I had "cool" skin tone (despite being half Italian - I guess the German/Scotch/English is showing). I found it to be one of the best investments I ever made, make-up and clothing wise I mean. I also am very fair and usually purchase the lightest shades of foundations they make, however always tended to purchase a shade too dark with orange tones in it. During the seminar, they mentioned notable "Winters" (dark, yet cool) and one was Liz Taylor - a classic "Winter".

Yeah, Liz has those beautiful violet eyes...she would definitely be cool. I did do the Color Me Beautiful thing several years ago, which is why I always thought I was cool. My hair is dyed so I can't go by that, but my eyes are the deepest brown. I am half hispanic, so that side must have overtaken the Italian, Polish, Irish, Dutch part, lol. The Italian side of my family all have lighter hair with blue eyes (even my mother)...I pulled the dark Hispanic side.

In a little bit, we are getting together for coffee and to play with make-up :D

Oooh, sounds fun!!! One reason why I LOVE EM so much is that we can get those free sample kits and play with and test out different colors of foundation.

  3.
So what kind of criteria does that book use again? Does it go by your heritage?

    He says that:

"The majority of women have "warm" undertones. In my opinion, warmer skin always looks more youthful. A very small number of women have truly "cool" undertones. They have dark hair, pale skin and light eyes. (Think Snow White.) Even if you start out cool, the minute you go out into the sun, you become warm. If you come from certain backgrounds--Italian (me, lol), Hispanic (also me, lol), Asian, or African-American--you're warm. If you have brown (me again) or green eyes, you're warm. If you are able to tan well, you're definitely warm."

He goes into a lot more like "depth" (lightness or darkness of your skin), but I completely ignored that part, lol.

He says that one of the biggest makeup mistakes women make is thinking they have cool undertones when they don't. He advocates doing a stripe test with the foundation colors, and the spot you'd do that at depends on a few different things.

It's pretty interesting because he did several makeovers and almost all of them have the same basic color pallette on ladies of all different coloring and ethnicity.

should build yourself a special EM counter somewhere. The last apartment I lived in was microscopic, but it had a HUGEEEE bathroom. I think the bathroom was about half the size of my living room. Ahhh I wish I had that bathroom now. 'Twould be perfect for my EM. I also had a bathroom once that was so massive, there was a couch in it. I had to share it with five other girls though. I guess I've just been lucky so far in terms of bathroom square footage.:lol:

Only ONE time did I have a HUGE bathroom...it was a rental about 30 years ago, lol. Now, my bathroom is SOOOOO small I couldn't lay down on the floor if I had to. Basically, just enough room to stand there.

Does it not totally blow that the special was extended?!?!?! I should know by now not to get my hopes up, they've toyed with our emotions many times before :lol:

Do you think the 19th will be the big day?!?!

I'm so proud of myself this time...I TOTALLY didn't get my hopes up. :P They've just done this tooooooo many times now.

Ladies, I posted here 12 hours ago and figure it will be slow here due to the weekend. I come back to check and there are 2 pages of postings. I will have to step it up to keep up around here :D

 yep, moves fairly quickly around here. I can be pretty chatty when I'm excited about something sometimes. :P

Any enzymes you take for hypercoagulation should definately be taken away from food....otherwise they will be used to digest your food rather than breaking down fibrin.

Ah, okay...I haven't taken the second one yet...I think I'll take it before bed.

Thanks Donna for the directing me to the tiny url website, that's kind of a cool little thing!

    ...

Did you ask them about the breast pain?? I'm going to keep bugging you about that

You're welcome...I learned about that site on LN where if you post a really long link it makes the spacing weird for the whole thread.

That's strange Donna how you mentioned that. <_< When I went to Dr. M. he had me hold these small perfume sample type vials as well. I had this one vial in my hand and started to feel real nauseated. I asked him why and he said that he was testing me on the flowers and that I shouldn't feel that way.

He then said if I am feeling sick the reason could be that I was holding a toxin in my hand. :o

He says many people can experience feeling sick just by touching things and that many people who are highly toxic cant wear watches because they break. Strange I know.

Yeah, it was me who drains batteries. I gave up wearing regular watches completely, and now if I wear one I have to have a solar watch. I kind of have weird things with cell phones too. :P

I have taken a long break from this board, but I think I am FINALLY making some progress.

Wow, great to hear you are making some progress!!

I am SO UPSET right now!

Gosh darn it April, that really IS upsetting!!! I'm so sorry!

Donna....didnt you have this problem with wearing watches?? I cant recall if you were breaking the watches or just draining the batteries?? Either way...it cant be good.

I wonder if I'd have the same problem....it wouldnt surprise me but I dont wear watches so I have no idea. I guess if I do decide to wear one I should start with an inexpensive one....just in case it self-destructs. ;)

Someone here had that .... was it Donna?

It was Donna who ran batteries out on watches, very quickly.

Yeah, it was me...drain the stupid things so fast I just gave up wearing them. It didn't USE to be that way. I have a beautiful watch (that was kind of expensive) that has interchangeable face plates...really nice. I used to be able to wear that, but at some point I started draining the batteries and it got to be too much hassle to have it replaced so often.

Someone on LN said her air hunger was linked with POTS, but I think I feel too good overall to have that. But, considering heparin is prescribed for POTS, do you think the serrapeptase could be contributing to the air hunger?

We'll see, lol. I took my first one this morning and I'll be taking my second one before bed. I supposedly have babs too. I also thought at one point that I had POTS...I definitely fit some of the symptoms back then, but not all--don't even remember what the symptoms are anymore, lol.

  5. Thanks for the info on the serra peptase. I knew I had heard the name but didn't really know exactly what it was. I took one this morning, and will take the second one before bed. Carla, how are you taking it? I think Denise or Anna said to take it in the morning and before bed (apart from something, lol), but I told Denise if she didn't write everything down I'd forget...sure enough. I wrote down all the dosages, but didn't get the when of it all.

So yesterday I took one dose of the fungal and mold detox. Those two she said I could take together, so I just decided to start them both the same day. By evening I had the worst headache...have it a little bit again today. Also didn't sleep well at all last night...tossing and turning and lots of dreams. I don't know if any of that is connected with the new stuff. My money is on the fungal stuff though. :P

This morning I started the serra peptase. I may or may not wait a day or two to start any more...I'm really anxious to start the miasm detox.

Oh, and I forgot something else that was interesting. My energy was pretty good yesterday UNTIL I started touching the vials. She said that as soon as I started touching the vials my energy started dropping. Her next comment was "your body does not like this at all"!

  6.
 You really do keep your make-up on your toilet tank. LOL I like those drawers though. :D

Just the lip glosses, lol. All three drawers are now full, so the next lip gloss will push me into a different storage system. :P

Anywho, I'm starting to think I'm not as cool toned as I previously thought. Multi-task looks a bit too pink maybe?

Yeah, this is what happened to me. I read that book which said I SHOULD be warm, but I didn't believe it...went ahead and ordered some of the warmer foundations and those are the ones that look the best.

  7.
omg how funny that is the one i was looking at, but it was on the ebay store and i dont have my paypal account anymore so i was all bummed that i couldnt get it, ty for posting the regular website, i just ordered it. Omg shipping for fast delievery is expensive, so i did the free shipping. I cant wait to get it, hopefully i will before my next order of em makeup lol

Oooh, can't wait to hear how everything fits in. This was one that someone posted over at the EM boards.

Can I really justify buying another 10 color sampler?

Silly, silly girl! What kind of a question is THAT for a cult thread?! Of COURSE you can justify it!

  8.
Yay...I'm back to eating lots of foods again! :D

    ...

Does anyone know if this *has* to be listed in the ingredients?? Is there any way I could end up buying enriched products that were not labeled as such??

I hope not because that would make things really confusing for me.

Don't know the answer to that one. I think I'd assume it was enriched unless it specifically said it wasn't, or it said 100% whole wheat.

  9.
I just had to come and see what Tom was posting here on the makeup thread!

bother - 100 pages and we're still having a blast! No bother!

 Yeah, definitely NOT a bother, lol.

i so hope my makeup comes today or i will have to go back to shopping and get an new bedroom set lol.

Ok im scaring my husband lol.

 Hey, great way to get hubbies to encourage makeup purchases...just threaten to buy furniture instead. :P

Thanks so much for all of your help. So glad to be here!!!

Hey DOlly, welcome!!!! See you've already received the answers to your questions, so just wanted to say hello.

I just wanted to let you guys know...I was worried that with the renovation of EM's website and new products that all of their products wouldn't be gluten-free. I emailed them and they wrote:

    Very cool!!!! Thanks!

I got my makeup this morning of course right after i got ready lol. But i will be playing with the colors before tonight. Some of blushes are so pretty. Boy i need an makeup organizer now lol

YAY!!! Paula got her makeup...no new furniture now I guess?

Yay, Paula let us know your favorites! I did buy a small organizer, but I think my makeup is slowly taking over other spaces. lol. Next order will do that container in for sure!

Yes...I bought the little mini train case today, but the full sized one I had my eye on there seemed to be really hard to open. The lady was just struggling to open it, so I decided to wait. I'm going to order one off the internet that is like this one, but a little larger and has a couple more fold out trays. That ought to hold me for a while. The case I have now (which I took pictures of and will load somewhere online tomorrow, lol) will soon be too small!

  10.
I have strep throat and an ear infection-- boooo  . It came on very quickly. Started antibiotics today so I should be feeling better soon. I was throwing up last night and I was thinking how unfair it is to puke when you have a sore throat. A painful combination <_< .

Yikes!!! NO fun at all. I've had one after the other before but not at the same time! Feel better soon!

Just had to share with you all, thanks for all your support today.

Sounds like a great shoot!! Can't wait to see the final results!

I shall email BIL and tell him about the virtual following of Michelle. She actually is quite an underdog (pun intended)...Some illness/injury during last year, of her and her lead dog, plus being female, no one expected much to be happening with her for this race. In fact, her being in it at all caused many seasoned mushers to raise eyebrows. LOVE IT!! You go, grrrrrrrrlll! :)

Okay, I just may have to check this out...sounds VERY exciting!

So why do cats look like aliens when wet??:lol:

Anyhoo - he smells great and his fur is lovely and soft now ;)

 Do you do your kitties fur up like AMy's...

Now .. . ... ..here's an interesting proposition that came my way this morning.

Go! The fact that you can even consider going after how sick you were is pretty amazing really!

Still wanna be there with me? Ya gotta be screaming right along with me..... :D;)

I'm not Ptaum, but sure DOES sound like fun.

  11. Had a BioSET appointment today...It was VERY interesting and productive I think, and unfortunately very expensive, lol. I came home with SIX NEW things she wants me to take...plus I had to buy two things I was running low on.

We don't have anything specific that we are testing for anymore so they usually just ask how I"m feeling and if anything in particularl is bothering me. This time was a little different. Denise asked me a couple of questions about candida and I said it was probably raging since I've been binging on chocolate. She asked if I was having symptoms, and I said just nasal congestion which gets worse when I eat chocolate and the skin burning thing. She said the skin burning sounded like neuropathy and that led to a discussion of molds and lyme.

She asked if Dr. S had me on any medications and I said no. She went to talk to Anna, then Anna came back with her. They both looked a little surprised that he hadn't started me on anything, but I explained about the mold situation and that he wouldn't even give me cholestyramine. So they gave me a homeopathic thing to detox mold. YAY!!! I'm happy about that. They also gave me something to help with candida symptoms.

Then, since Anna was there too, I asked about the miasms, especially the cancer miasm. They said it was sort of like a predisposition thing. :o was my expression, lol. I said that was interesting and told them about my enlarged ampulla and how the labs couldn't decide if the cells were precancerous or not...they finally gave up trying and my doctor pronounced me well. Then Anna looked like :o

So, I now have something to detox miasms, lol. Yay!!

That also led to a discussion about my gallbladder...so I have something that will sort of thin out the bile and help it to drain, and a gallbladder terrain to take. :P

For lyme they gave me something called serra peptase...that didn't test badly for me, but the dose is low. They also wanted me to take Cumanda and Banderol, but I'm already on that fortunately.

Then Denise asked if they'd ever cross checked mold and lyme...nope, so we did that. Holy heck, TONS of stuff came up. A whole bunch of different kinds of aspergillus. I had a really large glass full of vials, lol. After my treatment my nose felt really weird...kind of like when I was having allergy issues. It's calmed down a bit now.

So that was my fun time at BioSET...before that I hung out with my mom and aunt and was able to go to a couple of hardware store to get TONS of paint sample cards.

Donna is a happy girl. :P

I'm grateful because I would look absolutely horrid with black hair and that is the only dye anyone in China would know how to do, LOL!

Does this mean that she wont be coming down for more frequent visits?

I better start looking through my mail to make sure I dont miss the scheduling...hopefully she's coming in March but I havent heard anything.

I'm not sure...I haven't heard anything at all about her coming yet. I'm hoping she'll come down more frequently though...that'd save a lot of expense (assuming I can EVER get in, lol).

I was going to ask you about the metals challenge. You mentioned the other month about doing one in February. This would be good to do. It could tell a lot. Will they analyze your minerals as well?

I'm not sure about the minerals...I'm HOPING he'll go for the challenge...it's not a definite thing though. :(

  12.
They were really informative links too, I don't know how to do that tiny url thing Donna does......

Shoot...my bookmark is at work, but I think it's tinyurl.com...you just copy the link that you want to shorten (or avoid lame adv) go to tinyurl...paste the link into the top box and hit whatever button it says to hit to shorten the link...your tiny url comes up then you just copy that and paste it into your post.

  13. Kass, VERY nice new avatar!!

Hey Donna, did you ever try the peach lip gloss, or have you not ordered it yet? (I don't remember...)

Not yet...it's STILL in my cart...I put it there right after I hit "order" last time, lol. Just waiting for a new special. :P

p.s. Happy page 100 everyone! Shall be be like Sillyville and have a new leader every hundred pages? Who wants to take over??

Hum, must think on this...we can't copy the Sillies, but we should do something to "celebrate"...

  14. Aw Patti, I'm sorry to hear about Allo!

Donna, what is the status of your protocol? Are you completely on hold with everything until you get the mold situation in your home dealt with?

Pretty much on hold, although last visit my doctor said we may do a provoked challenge for metals on my next visit (or at least talk about it). My next visit is MONDAY, lol, so I'm hoping with the news of my refinance he might do the challenge.

also, is anyone here taking (or has taken) MB12? I know it's extensively mentioned on lyme net and autism message boards, and I'm inclined to think it would be beneficial for me to try it to aid in addressing the cognitive symptoms... after I learn a bit more about it, I plan to discuss it with my LLMD next appt and see about getting a prescription for it...

Charlie, can you do fats? I add fat to stuff...like olive oil, coconut oil, avocado, etc. That would bring up the calories.

I have taken methyl B-12 in tablet form, and for the last month or so by injection (which now I'm giving myself). My cognitive functions have improved, but it's nearly impossible for me to tell from what, lol.

Omgsh...my insurance company said we have met our "maximum" for drug coverage! They're DONE paying for ANY meds for the year of 2008! Holy %*^$....it's only February!!! AHHHHHHH! :(

I HATE when stuff like this happens! Sheesh!

  15.
Maybe if you come to WA sometime when I'm there, I'll meet you too!

That would be fun and fantastic!!! :)

I'm going to try your rinsing idea, I haven't been using any conditioner. I keep my hair really short which seems the best for me. I haven't had to do any coloring yet...maybe I got some good genes in the mix there. My father is in is 70s and hardly any gray still.

Yeah, I think you definitely got good genes, lol. I started going grey in my 30s...I'm afraid it's probably all grey by now, lol. If it's like my mom's hair, I'll keep coloring it for now. Her hair isn't ugly or anything, just salt & pepper, but I don't like that look for me now. :P I'm going to fight LOOKING old as long as I can. :P
