Yay, more good news from Nyxie!!!
Kassandra, hope all is going well for you! I'm sure it will!

I always ask for fried eggs, lol. That way I can SEE what's in them and I figure they need a fairly clean grill for that. I also ask if it's possible that they use oil instead of butter (because of my casein issues). I ask for fresh fruit instead of any breads or potatoes, etc. I basically say that I can't have gluten or dairy, but I don't go into much more than that usually. Now, I will also say that I don't have violent reactions to gluten, if I did I would probably be much more diligent, and I also don't have confirmed celiac...just intolerance.

What kind of mold toxicity testing did you do? This may be something I need to do.
I'll have to look up the info later...all my papers are at home. It was a blood test that tested for the 3 biggies, aspergillus, and I can never remember the other two, lol. I think it was measured in antibodies, but I can't be sure. I'll also look up the lab.
i'll have to find out...but even if it came up, it could just be because of everything else going on, right? isn't the only way to find out if it's genetic through something on enterolab? i assume it's attacking my body and bothering me, but i want to know if it's the genetic disease that i'm now stuck with, which like i said would shock me...but do you have any clue what the blood test they do tests for? never really found outI think you can have other types of genetic testing done, just not sure where. I had mine through enterolabs, it was a cheek swab. I am not sure if I am Celiac or not because when my conventional testing was done I had already been gluten free for several months, and before that was eating low carb, so wasn't getting a lot of gluten anyway. My doctor was reluctant to officially diagnose me with celiac, and I'm glad now that he didn't.
I do have a gene, so I suspect the possibility is always there, but I'll never know for sure. I did see improvement on the gluten free diet, just not enough. My hope though, is that when the rest of the health issues are taken care of, I'll be able to worry less about cross-contamination issues, and maybe have a little "treat" once in a while. I'll probably not ever go back to eating gluten on a regular basis though.

yeah, I usually end up looking a bit racoonish!
YAY, since the last time I checked my tracking info...um, about 20 minutes ago, lol...my order has arrived at Redwood City, left Redwood City and is "with delivery courier". Now THAT can mean anything from I'll get it in a few minutes, to I get it in a day or two, lol!!!! Hopefully it means I'll get it sometime before I leave today.
YAY...that means if I can figure out a way to get it on, I can try a blush color.
(Of course, no brushes here today, and I don't think an appropriate brush was a free gift this time.)

Oh, and maybe they took extra blood for another kind of test? I had 7 vials drawn...some of that went to Igenix and some went to other labs for mold toxicity testing, etc.

I got my blood taken today for the lyme tests. They send off to igenex. I asked the lady what testing they do but I didn't know what I was talking about to be specific. The testing was $400 but someone said that probably didn't include ???
I guess I'll know more when it comes back. Does anyone have an idea how long for igenex to return the results?
I'm not sure what all that covered. I know I didn't spend $400 for the western blots (only $190 in California, but that was last year), but I know it's more expensive in some areas and the price may have gone up. I think the co-infections testing is a lot more than that, so I'm thinking it doesn't include that. Probably the two western blots, maybe a PCR test, and I'm not sure what else.

Oh Andrea, any disturbance of sleep is insomnia to me!
Yeah, I'm thinking I should go back to the very simple old-fashioned alarm clock. I've had this one for a few years now, and never had any trouble, but two times in the last month or two the time has "changed". So, unless I'm sleep walking, I don't think I'm doing it, lol.

Hey, speaking of which...I used it AGAIN for just that, lol. Since I had the time to put on a full face of makeup, I got the telltale specks of black eyeliner (didn't seem to happen with the smokey eyeliner by-the-way) on my cheekbones...the fan brush worked really well again to get that off without streaking it! Yay.

Angie, I saw that (or at least part of it) special on Simon. It was very interesting!

Yeah, I don't know when I got lyme either, but I do believe severe stress in 1995-1996 caused everything to be too much for my immune system!

Wow, how fun!!! Great news from Kassandra, Nyxie and Paula! Nice to wake up and see good news all around in Rachelville!
Speaking of waking up, lol. I don't know how it happens, but this is the second time it has...my clock somehow changes time. Today the alarm went off at 4:40 like it's supposed to, only the time on my actual clock got set ahead somehow, so it was actually 3:40! Blah, lol. I'm not sure how that is happening because the button to hit to change the time is a tiny little button and it's not easy to hit! Egads, I may have to get a new clock. This one was nice because it's a C D/Radio/Clock unit, but it's trash bound if it can't keep time, lol. I made good use of the time though and actually put on makeup...so like Paula, I'm feeling good with my EM makeup on.
Had an eye exam yesterday. The good news is that he says my eyes are very healthy and look really good. Bad news...getting new glasses and YOWZER were they expensive, lol. I was able to put it on my FSA account though.
Okay, I'm nervous again...I'm going to give myself my B12 shot today.
I've had one a week for the last 3 weeks, so I'm going to try 2 a week for at least a couple of weeks to see what that does. Dr. S said I could have them 1 or 2 times per week.

So, because of some freak of nature or act of God, my clock somehow got changed to be an hour ahead, so instead of 4:40, I got up at 3:40 this morning.
Bad news you say!? Not so, because that gave me plenty of time to put on a full face of makeup.
So, I'm wearing the works today....foundation, eye color, eye liner, mascara, blush, lip gloss, lol. Normally on a work day I only wear foundation, blush and lip gloss, most because I don't have the time. We'll see if anyone notices.
AND, another good thing, is that I've decided to get more sample pots of my favorite colors and leave them here at work with a little set of brushes, so that I can touch up, or add stuff if I want to.
Ok donna, u just made me feel like an idiot, i never checked for tape over the dots lol.Didn't mean to make anyone feel bad, lol. It's just that it took me a LOOONNNNNGGGG time to figure out why the minerals weren't coming out, lol. I finally stuck my fingernail in there and started scraping and to my amazement, the tape came off, lol.
Just ordered the sample kit...i am hoping to love it. I have been using Bare Minerals for a while, is the coverage as good with Everyday minerals? I still use Chanel lip gloss...it is also gluten-free.Hey, welcome to the cult, lol! Yes, I think it has every bit as good coverage as BM does. I've used Bare Minerals for years. In the last few years, I went down to only wearing makeup on Sundays and special ocassions and every time I did I broke out within a day, so last year I tried a different mineral foundation that my hair stylist carries in her salon. Still only wore that once a week, and still seemed to break out within a day or so of wearing it. Now, I DO tend to break out at the drop of a hat these days, but with EM I don't notice it so much. I am still breaking out here and there, but it doesn't seem tied to the makeup anymore. The coverage is fantastic...I can go has sheer or as heavy as I like, and I had a MUCH easier time finding a match to my skin color/tone for the foundation for some reason.
I'll try one more time but this how it turns out to be far more expensive then Bare Minerals... its trial and error whereas with BM I can try them on in Sephora.Yeah, this is the hard part. I have several BE stores and Several Sephora stores close by, so yeah, it's convenient. Even $3.95 for shipping can add up after a while compared to FREE, lol. But, I do agree that reading the descriptions of the color in combination with looking at the picture has saved me a couple of times.
I went a little too light the first sample kit too. I hit the right two categories though, just went a little too light. I fit well into the "cool" and "olive" categories.
I've been reading this thread for a bit but haven't posted. I'm going to jump in now!I LOVE this stuff! I used BM for a while, decided it was too expensive, went back to drugstore stuff. Oh man, big mistake! I was so broken out and aggravated when finally.....I can across this thread! Yeah!
I love the Weekend getaway blush. So soft and natural.
The cleansing wipes are just fantastic! I was using four steps on my skin. Now, I'm using only these. Hard to believe, isn't it? I have very sensitive skin and these leave my face clean and soft. For $3.50 for 80 you have got to try them. I am in love with these things!
Hey, welcome to you too!! I've "seen" you reading before, and so glad you decided to join in!
Yeah, see my response above re breaking out, lol. This is SOOOO much better for my skin. Weekend Getaway was the first blush color I tried and still love it, lol.

OKay, so you all DO know that the little mini containers have a cellophane tape thingy over the holes, right?
It's not easy to see it but it's there, and there's no tab thingy like on the small or large sizes you just have to kind of scrape the tape off. Outside of that tape thing, my little holes haven't plugged up.
Paula,
I haven't tried the towelettes yet, but I've had them in my cart a few times. I've also had the bowls in my cart a few times, lol. They keep getting bumped for actual makeup.
Also, they have the empty large size containers which are only $2.00 if you wanted to get the container. I use a margarine tub lid to tap out my minerals then swirl my brush in...if you have any kind of plastic lid or bowl that you can use only for your minerals you can just use that. I have one for blush, one for foundation and one for eyeshadows. Once I get some full-sized containers I won't have to do that.

It's just a matter of having the $$ to do this. He is highly cheezed about the two "camps" on lyme. Maybe that'll actually get him involved in some of this. Would be nice.
Yeah, it's all so frustrating...not having the money is a very big problem for me, cuz my cards are close to being maxed out too.
-
Paula, I've gotten about 6-7 or more applications out of my tiny little foundation samples, and way more than that out of my blush samples...I think the eye shadow minis will last me forever, lol. It really doesn't take a lot of product to do the job.

Ok, after spending 20 minutes on hold, I finally got to talk with the appt nurse. Gotta wait until hubby comes home because he has the credit card and they need payment to hold the appt. On the bright side, she said she can get me in sometime this month.
Will keep you posted.
YAY!!!!! Woohoo!!!

I can't believe it's here already, lol.

I LOVE weightlifting, but I hate endless reps, lol, so like Carla, I go as heavy as I can go to do 2-3 sets of 8-10 reps. I have recently done a little experiment with very light weights (2 lbs) and going 50 reps (it takes that many with 2lbs before I feel anything at all, lol). I still like my heavy weights best.
