  1. Donna,

Thanks! I feel better now that I've had a good cry about it.

So, it looks like I don't pass CDC muster, but there might actually be something going on here.

    Interesting.

Yes, I agree! The CDC criteria was not actually meant to be diagnostic! That's why many LLMDs take into consideration symptoms, western blot results (whether or not CDC positive), other testing, etc.

  2. Nyxie - here is one explanation of the Western Blot bands:

Here is his update written sometime around 2005.

When physicians do consider borreliosis, they often start with a screening test such as an EIA, ELISA, IFA or PCR-DNA probe. If the initial screening test is negative, many physicians tell patients they do not have Lyme borreliosis and the testing is stopped right there.

Screening tests that are positive are often followed by a test called the Western blot. The blot is a

  3. I called the lyme doc's office this morning to see if my labs came back. They did - everything's negative. They're faxing them over to me today. I asked flat out if it's worth bothering to come in since my results were negative and they said no. I cancelled my appt.

So now what? I feel like I just shouldn't bother anymore. I'm crying as I'm typing this. I'm so frustrated... disappointed... angry at my body for rebelling, myself for being like this, and the medical system for not coming up with any answers.

I'd talked about calling Dr H's office no matter what the results were, but at this point, I feel like I'd be wasting both our time.

I'm so sorry Nyxie! I agree with Andrea though...Dr. H might run additional testing.

  4. Okay, so I found the forums over there, but can't figure out how to register. I see where there is a login button...and I tried that, but it keeps saying it doesn't know me. Has anyone registered for the forum? :P

Oh noooo...another color to add to my cart. Donna, I'll race you to see who can try every single eye color first :P

Yeah, something tells me you will STILL have me beat, lol. Yes, mayhem with the trial sizes of everything. I'll be right up there with you for items in my cart, lol.

Does anyone else have it? I'm just curious because it seems to be the only color that is way off so far.

I'm curious how many of you experienced severe color variations from the card and picture?

I don't have it...I ordered it in my very first sample kit, which I never got because I sent in a check before I read the part that they don't take checks anymore. So that order is packed but just kind of sitting there. :P I did order it on my last order though, so should get it this week hopefullly.

I have definitely seen some color variations, although with the colors I've ordered so far, the color swatches on the website seem to be the closest (not talking about the ones on the main screen--those are off--but the ones that are called "photo color guide". The link for that is under all the pictures of the colors of whatever. That is a little closer to what I actually get, usually. :P

So if you click on the Blushes & Face colors link, you'll see the pictures of all the colors...underneath that is another link that says "Blush Photo Color Guide" and if you click on that, it brings up larger pictures...that seems to be closer than anything else. But, there can still be a little difference.

  5. it's definite if it was positive right? must be something strong for it to, but wow i knew i wasn't going crazy with my 30 million symptoms  i guess there

I don't here too often of doctors saying it's positive if it isn't. :) Usually, one would have the opposite problem...they would say it wasn't sometimes even if it was positive. :P

  6. I also met a dear friend Sandi,( who some know passed away recently from ovarian cancer) on the YC and she was instrumental in helping me understand the heavy metals issues I was facing, so I wouldn't be here today or I believe bed ridden if I hadn't found all of you.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Its very sad about Sandi. :(

She was on that board as long as I've been there....and always talking about the metals. I know she helped alot of people.

Oh, I bet that's the same Sandi from the metals forum I was visiting for a while last year. I know she had cancer. Very sad!

Also, what do people do for headaches? I can't really take epsom salt baths because my PICC line.

I usually don't do anything...I try to wait them out usually. If it's particularly horrendous I might take a Tylenol, but I try to avoid that if possible. Sometimes I'll gently rub my temple area, or my head, but that doesn't always seem to help.

Not sure when I'll be able to post again, I'm leaving for the USA tomorrow. It will be different to be posting in a similar time zone as most of you!

Wow, Sherry's going to be here soon!!! :)

  7. Charlie,

Thanks for the update...wow, I am so encouraged by your progress, and your sister!!!!! WOW!!! That is fantastic!!!

    Anyone else hear of this?

I have not...but that is interesting.

OMG...can you believe all this!! I freakin ate lunch at a restaurant today!!!

    ...

    I had a really fun day. :)

OMGOSH!!!! That is truly amazing and VERY EXCITING!!!!

He finally was admitted to a psych hospital/facility. It was very emotional to see him, and then talk to my uncles afterwards. I have a headache from crying. :(

I am so very sorry! I can't even imagine how you must feel!

I am pages behind but you mentioned several of them back, which was like yesterday  , that you had a good massage and then about the epsom salt bath making you weak, or feeling funky or something.

I also had this happen my last bath. All week I felt great after them and then a few days ago I could hardly stay in past 10 minutes, and then I got really hot after and felt real weak. So I don't know what that means.

I don't know either...it's strange because I haven't had a problem with the baths for a long time now.

I find this recent turn of events to be VERY encouraging...the first MAJOR sign that the treatments are working and my body is less burdened. Its really exciting for me! :)

    Me too!!

  8. Nobody panic or anything....I think I may be coming over to the KERMIT side.

So I think my problem with the mint concealor was how I applied it last time. I used an old BE eyeshadow brush which created my two problems: too much on in too wide an area. I tried again today with the little lip brush from EM...it's a very small brush...looked way to small (to me) for a lip brush, but it works really well on me for my small red spots. So that's what I did...a small amount on that tiny brush just on the red parts and it worked REALLY well.

Today's new tries...the kermit concealor and the black eyeliner. I LOVE this eyeliner. I've used the BE version for years now, but the black could be really black sometimes...this was absolutely PERFECT. For some reason it wasn't too dark. I used Good China as an all over color, then Shopping Spree as a smokey touch near the lashes and up into the crease. Looked very good.

Hey, did you guys see the latest news on the EM site? They're going to offer trial sizes of everything :D and they're working on an eye kabuki brush AND they are coming out with more concealers :D :D

Oh, and my order left Texas today. Woohoooo....the tracking frenzy continues

OMGosh, I kept thinking there was a reason why I wanted to go over there but never made it...must go look at this exciting news!!! I'm so happy they will offer trial sizes for everything...that is absolutely fantastic.

 I forgot to check my tracking info yesterday...don't kick me out of the cult...I promise to spend 30 minutes clicking on it to see if it changes, just to make up for it. :P

AND....(one more thing LOL) the have forums up now on the EM site. A lot of people have posted pictures of their "faces of the day." It's nice to be able to see what the colors look like on different skin tones.

    OMGOSH FORUMS!!!!! Egads!

I experimented a bit with the everyday bronzer, but I obviously have a lot to learn about how to apply that. I had dark blotches in some places. I think I will like it once I figure out how to get it on evenly.

Yeah, I have a hard time with bronzers, lol. I don't think I'm heavy handed, but somehow with bronzers, that side of me comes out. I have the BE warmth and the only way I can get it to look decent is to put only a tiny bit of the minerals and use a gianormous kabuki brush to swirl in it. :P

I really like that case Donna. I'm sure when I get my next order in my makeup will outgrow the little 3 drawer thing it's in now. I couldn't tell if there was a place for brushes in the top compartments? Did some of the smaller sizes fit in the top?

Yes, I have my smaller brushes in a compartment on the top tray (and my larger brushes are in the bottom of the tote). I have my lip pencils in another compartment there, and I have my foundations in the other compartment. My concealors are in with the lip pencils, more because I want to keep them separate from the foundations so I don't pick up the wrong one, lol.

The second tray has 5 compartments....two of them are kind of narrow, but are exactly the right size for the mini eyeshadow containers turned on their side...I can fit 7 in each one (so 14 minis on their sides). Two more of the compartments are about the right size for full sized eyeshadow containers flat...can fit about 3 (maybe 4) in each of those, although I only have 3 full sized eyeshadows, so I've go my mascara in the other compartment. Then there is a larger compartment which I have my blushes in...still plenty more room in there, lol.

The bottom of the tote doesn't have any compartments, but it's perfect for my large and weird size brushes, eye lash curler, etc.

I know when i got married my cousin put my makeup on that use to do makeup for people up in california and seh put blue on me, she said it was teh right color for me, and omg i hated it. I like browns and purples and pinks, cant wait to try the smokey eye like donna. I just want my makeup, i think im going to order some eyeshadows and lip color today, i know i wont be happy with just foundation and blush lol

Yeah, I've never like blue (at least not in my recent life, lol) eyeshadow, but I'm trying some of the darker blues...can't wait to get them, lol.

Donna, you are the Queen of makeup organization :lol:

    ...

Question, how do you guys go from color to color with your brushes? Do you just wipe them off in between or do you have a few brushes for each part of the face??

I have to be organized...it's WAY to easy for me to pick up the wrong container and in my fogginess put something weird where it shouldn't go, lol. That was my only complaint with my last tote...Loved it except that it didn't have enough compartments so I could separate my blushes from my foundations, etc.

I have a brush for every application. I have two brushes for eyeshadows...one is strictly for lighter shades, the other one is from BE and has two ends...one is kind of a pointed one which I use for the smokiness around the lash line and into the crease and the other side is a regular eyeshadow brush which I use for all my other colors. I have a brush for only blush (okay, actually two or three for blush only, lol), only foundation (okay, actually TWO, lol), only concealor (at least NOW I do, lol), and when I get my finishing dust...I have a brush for just that. I swipe all my brushes back and forth on my toilet paper roll a few times before putting them in my tote.

As far as formulations go...I think I may be the odd one out here...my face is too oily most of the time, so I'm trying the matte. I don't notice it dries my face out more than the others, but it definitely doesn't shine. I was finding that the semi-matte was too shiney for me. I'm getting the finishing dust though, so that may help in that regard.

    Love the video clip idea!

    Me too.

  9. Ok who on here has light skin but dark hair

I need ideas on lipstick and eyeshadow, oh and my eyes are hazel, they go from a pretty green when im happy to a dark dark color when im pissed lol

I do. My hair is naturally very dark brown (almost black)...it's highlighted heavily right now so, more of a brown I guess now. My skin is very pale for someone who is supposed to have olive skin. My eyes are dark brown though. My mom has beautiful blue eyes...I didn't get them: :lol: I tend to keep the eyes pretty neutral and so far all the colors I've ordered are very neutral. My colors are coming in the next batch. I did get some of the free colors that they sent out with orders over $30, and those were nice. I do mostly smokey looks I guess.

Donna, you are so organized! I'm still looking for the right size tote that will fit in my cabinet. I didn't think of checking out craft totes - great idea!

Yes, and everything fits PERFECTLY in it. I'm so happy! :P I even have room for my next set of 10 mini eyeshadows and plenty of new blush colors. :)

This is the one I got (I paid $9 for it--ha! the one review that is there says it's great for makeup  ):

Hope the picture is clear...it looks a little fuzzy on my screen.

  10. I am doing the DMSA challenge test today for metals. Its not too bad.

I am thinking I might not do the fat biopsy. I want to ask the dr if that will change the protocol that he would put in place. I am going to do all the other tests including lyme. I also got to ask him what that $400 included for the lyme test. Might not include any co-infections. I don't know...I am so confused - like Paula's Name!

Is that the orange jug?! :P I have not met the orange jug YET, but I know there is one in my future for sure, lol. I'm thinking the $400 didn't include the co-infections. It could be the 2 western blots, and maybe they did a C.D57, or PCR or something.

The B12 is good for the liver detox pathways. That and b6 and some others. That is all what my ND recommended for mine since they are sluggish. That might be why its good for people with lyme.

Okay, good, I'm NOT losing my mind then...I thought it must be something like that.

  11. Oh heck...I got so excited I hit reply before I finished saying what I wanted to say!

I was at Target today (looking for a small plastic tray), and in my journies, I discovered a "craft tote". It's about the same size as the Caboodles tote I got, but has more dividers in the trays, and there are 2 full trays plus the bottom of the tote. Now the only question is will my full size containers fit in the trays...some of my containers were too tall for some of the compartments in the other tote.

And, I also bought a little three drawer thingy that will fit on the toilet tank. I can put my multitude of lip glosses in there, lol.

  12. Paula,

I thought about it after I posted and thought that I probably misunderstood, lol. I am not a diagnosed Celiac either. I have one celiac gene and one "intolerant" gene. I'm pretty sure I have it though, or at least a strong possibility towards developing it. I think my mom has it too.

    Kassandra,

    That's a little scarey, lol.

and :o on the mepron! Wow! I won't complain about any of my stuff again!

    Everyone,

Just got home from another wonderful full body massage! Yay. She did my stomach again and she actually commented that it didn't seem as congested this time. I'm not exactly sure WHAT was less congested, but that was after I asked her what organ she was massaging and she said stomach/intestine. So, now I've had my epsom salt/baking soda bath and I'm just going to relax the rest of the day. The bath made me dizzy and weak again, but fortunately it was after I'd been in for 20 minutes.

  13. Paula, that is GREAT news!!!! Glad to hear you are feeling better! I am doing well, but had a rough week. Couldn't resist the coffee at work this week for some reason, and in the coffee put some of those flavored creamers. That's bad on so many levels it isn't funny. :P

  14. Oh Paula, please don't be discouraged. I know it's easy for me to say, but really, every single thing you do, even if it doesn't show something is getting you closer to knowing what IS wrong. I've had so many negative tests, that it isn't even funny, but by eliminating all those things, got to where I am now, which is knowing exactly what I'm up against and being able to do something about it.
