  1. Now, about my BioSET appointment yesterday. The main reason for the appointment was to go over the test results from the stool test and blood test. We really never went over them, lol. I asked twice and got a couple of things, but we ended up treating me for environmental allergies. :P

She called me back and I said I don't even think I have a treatment today...I have some tests to go over...she said, yes we do but I think I wrote something down about testing your thyroid. (pssstttt....we never did test for thyroid  )

Anyway, I mentioned how I feel like I've taken a step backward, both with my energy and with my "allergies". I told her that when I found out about the gluten/casein and cut those out...my sinus issues went away almost entirely. The only time in the lsat year and a half that I've been bothered by them was when I get my allergy shots or if I ate too much chocolate. So we got to talking about the allergies and she agrees with me that they don't sound like true allergies. She also thinks I should stop the allergy shots (that's two of my practitioners now who think that, lol).

Anyway, she realized that we have never treated me for environmental stuff and that if I'm getting shots for them, maybe we should test and treat. Previously we just did foods, so she tested and then treated me for some environmental stuff. The stuff that came up was no surprise: vehicle exhaust, dust, dust mites (although on the last skin scratch test I had dust and dust mites no longer came up with positives), ragweed (this was new...that has NEVER come up on a skin scratch test), perfume, smoke (all kinds). A few other things came up which I can't remember. This will involve two more sessions, and then probably the thyroid panel, so at least 3 more sessions.

Now, about the tests. Didn't get much detail, but here is the gist:

Vitamin D - To me it looks like I'm in the "normal" range, but I am well below what they'd like to see the level at, so she is megadosing me for a month with a bunch of it, lol. She said the theory is to flood (and overload I guess) the "receptors" or whatever technical term she used which is now long gone from my brain, but this is the gist of it, for a month.

She said my intestinal disbyosis is reasonable but then gave me some things I could take for the candida. I didn't understand this and I asked twice but didn't get any clearer a picture. I can't tell by looking at the copy of the test she gave me either. We did two tests, "bacterial culture & sensitivities" and "yeast culture". The one she said was fine, so the one I got a copy of was "Yeast Susceptibilities", which looks to be from the "yeast culture" test. So I'm guessing I don't have a bacterial dybiosis problem.

Anyway, the introduction on the results sheet says: "When abnormal microflora or significant aberrations in intestional health markets are detected, specific interpretive paragraphs are presented. If no significant abnormalties are found, interpretive paragraphs are not presented." Then the next paragraph is for Cultured Yeast and specifically mentions candida but it seems like a generic paragraph and not one that would indicate a problem.

Now after that are some bar charts: One for Rhodotorula mucilaginosa...listed there are some prescriptive and some natural agents which this rhodo thing is either resistant to or sensitive to. After that is another chart for Candida guilliermondii. Looks like for both nystatin would work as both showed sensitive to it, and for natural agents Caprylic Acid and Oregano Oil came up, so Anna suggested I try both of these.

Now here's what I don't understand...there's one more chart thing for Mycology (Yeast) Culture. Normal flora is on one end and Dysbiotic Flora is on the other end. Both came up on the normal flora side with 1+ after them. There is absolutely no chart which gives what 1+ means, but at the location the numbers appear is pretty close to the center of where normal and abnormal meet.

Below that is another box which lists Yeast KOH (microscopic), then after that a box under the word Normal and a box under the word Abnormal, than a Reference range of None-Rare. In the box under Normal it says "none". What the heck kind of results are these. Sheesh. A lyme brain just can't handle that kind of thing. I need it to clearly say, YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.

So to me that sounds like I'm okay and that I have a normal bowel flora...now, I don't take that to mean I can go buy another package of cookies, but maybe I can have a little bit of fruit here and there, lol.

  2. Okay, I'm breaking up my posts because one would have been much too long, lol. Anyway, I said I list the breakdown of ingredients in the Adrenal supplement I was taking:

    Support Adrenals by BioMatrix:

Serving Size: 2 capsules (Note, I was taking 2 at breakfast and 2 at lunch, but the amounts below are for two capsules)

100 mg Vit C (88mg as Ascorbic Acit, 12mg as Ascorbyl Palmitate)

50 mg Thiamin (as Thiamin mononitrate)

    50 mg Riboflavin

50 mg Niacin (40mg as niacinomide, 10 mg as niacin)

50 mg B-6 (30 mg as pyridoxine HCI, 20 mg as pyrodoxine 5 phosphate)

400 mcg Folate (as Folic Acid)

    100 mcg B-12 (as cyanocobalamin)

    2000 mcg Biotin

200 mg Pantothenic Acid (as calcium panthothenate)

1.5 mg Zinc (as Zinc Malate)

.55 mg Copper (as Copper Citrate)

    75 mg PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid)

50 mg Lemon Pure Form Bioflavonoid complex

    50 mg Choline Bitartrate

    50 mg Inositol

36 mg Dried ethanol/water extract of rosemary leaf (4:1)

36 mg Naringin (extracted from grapefruit)

    36 mg Hespiridin Methyl Chalcone

    10 mg Rutin

    8 mg DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone, micronized)

    8 mg Pregnenolone (micronized)

The only other ingredient was gelatin for the capsule. As I mentioned I took 2 at breakfast and 2 at lunch, plus supplemented with liquid DHEA, Pregnenolone and Progest. (This was based on an adrenal test I took...it showed which hormones I was deficient in and that is what they used for this regime.) I started this regime in November and continued for several weeks on a specific schedule that my doctor gave me. I think around January is when I came off this schedule and mostly just continued with what the BioSET lady put me on. The doctor did want to keep me on Progest but that is the one that causes my lips to burn so I stopped it myself. :P In January I started BioSET and she put me on a bunch of additional stuff, but specifically for adrenals was a multivitamin which looked a lot like that listed above and a separate sublingual B12 and a liquid B complex.

  3. HI everyone...sorry I disappeared. I haven't been able to log on since Friday...well, Friday evening I just didn't feel like being on the computer, so really didn't try, lol, but tried a few times yesterday and couldn't get on the boards.

ANDREA!!!! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I'm so very sorry I didn't get to wish that to you on your actual birthday!!! <_<

Mia, good to see you and will be curious to see how your session goes this week.

Sherry - I don't know you you do all the travel!!! Amazing!

Susie - For metals, I'm doing only a gentle detox at the moment, so I'm only taking chlorella and pectasol (a fiber) specifically for the metals. I'm also taking glutathione and alpha lipoic acid which are supposed to have some affect on metals (whether director or indirect) and a SLEW of other supplements which support general health.

I had a massage yesterday and I got horribly congested as she was working in me...she said that was a sign that the massage was working and that I was detoxing...the subject of baths came up and she asked if I go home and take baking soda baths...I said I usually take epsom salts and sometimes put baking soda in there. She said "oh, that's a strong bath". :o

So I asked if it was better to do just one at a time and which was better...she said that the epsom salts are good for the muscles and relieving pain, but that the baking soda was good at pulling out the toxins from the body. She even said that if you eat a bunch of bad food then take a baking soda bath the water will turn grey...not sure if I believe that one, lol, but it sounded good. So Susie, that might be a cheap way to do a little detox.

  4. Morning everyone!

Carla, great appointment!!! I really hope you don't have to go on IV...that just doesn't sound good to me, lol. I've read a lot of stories on LN. :o

I want the email update...do you still have my email address?

Maybe you could look into the LED's once you can get a little ahead? I know, what's "a little ahead".

I'm really, really interested in the LED, but yeah, it's going to have to wait a bit. :(

I now have a question for all of you, how do you deal with unsupportive people about Eastern medicine? My friend last night said, "well, if it's a sinus infection, why didn't you have your Dr. put you on antibiotics?" My response was that I am really allergic to all oral antibiotics (which I am...break out in HORRIBLE hives...instantly.) But even if I wasn't allergic, I wouldn't have gone to him about "exhaustion" because he would have taken labs and told me "you're fine." So, what do you say to people who think Eastern Doctors are quacks?!!

Yay on your good day...hope that trend continues!!! I am pretty lucky I guess, most everyone in my circle of family and friends is supportive and if they disagree with my "alternative" stuf, they mostly don't say anything. I also tend to keep the "alternative" stuff down, I just say "my doctor tested me" or "my doctor wants me to do this." I've also mostly had everything that was found by "alternative" methods confirmed by blood or other testing from healthcare professionals, so they don't question that, lol. My aunt is one who thinks antibiotics are the cure for everything eventhough she saw me on them for THREE years with no improvement...just kept getting sicker. :(

Vitamin D deficiencies are probably more common among us than other people. That would be great if things were fixed soon

Congratulations on passing your finance course!! Phew!

I'm not expecting the Vit. D to be deficient for some reason, but I'm hoping the stool testing shows something.

One helpful thing is, that she has experience of quite a few people who are allergic to magnesium stearate, so their supplements don't contain it. That's really good news as I've been finding it really difficult to find any without it.

This is fantastic!!!! Oh, and I understand about legal work...I work for an office full of lawyers, lol. Sometimes I just have to look at them like

Donna, yes I take Cholestyramine. The doc mentioned that we will probably taper me off on it as it was prescribed to absorb toxins because of my diarrhea. Now that we have fixed that particular problem, I may not need it. I am still taking it, but don't know if they'll renew the prescription or not ... or maybe they'll lower it to once per day. It's difficult because it has to be taken apart from everything else.

Yes, the book I'm reading said that's exactly what it's good for, getting rid of the toxins. The toxins can be from any number of things. I still have the really bad D, so I'm hoping one of my doctors will let me try this.

I got some exciting news yesterday! My aunt called. She said my cousin and his wife are expecting their first child! I am going to have another baby cousin! I thought I would share the good news with you guys.

    Congratulations!!!

  5. Oh and I just wanted to add that I'm quite sure that my adrenals are being affected by the Lyme...the BioSET testing showed pretty clearly that the Lyme is affecting my endocrine system and my Krebs cycle and the adrenals...and nearly every other function in my body, lol. I think that's why they're having such a hard time coming back. This will probably be a struggle for me until I can address the Lyme, but can't address that until I address the mold and mercury, lol.

  6. Morning all! Well, I picked up my neurotransmitter test yesterday...now just trying to decide WHEN to do it. Since I don't have a problem falling asleep, but rather staying asleep, I have to do the test when I wake up in the middle of the night. Chances are good I won't be going back to sleep after THAT, lol. I guess my plan is for Saturday night. That way if I don't go back to sleep I have Sunday to "recover" or at least not have to do anything or go anywhere. The samples can be frozen so that works well. It's both a urine and a saliva test.

I should be getting the results of my stool testing and the Vit D test on Saturday...I have an appointment with Anna to specifically go over these things, so I'm hoping they're all done.

Ami and Kassandra!!! Wow, woohoo! Sounds like you both had great productive days!!! Congratulations Ami on getting those amalgams out!

For those suffering from adrenal burnout, what's the best way of dealing with that? I'm sure my adrenals are stressed out. I'm feeling stressed almost all the time now and for no particular regime - just like I can't cope with anything without feeling stressed. Going on this diet seems to have made things worse (at least it hasn't made it better). I know the reasons, apart from the obvious health ones - the miscarriages, DH starting his business, the change of routine with DS starting school. I'm going to try to get some herbal sleeping tablets and hope I'm not allergic to them. I eat throughout the day. What are good supplements for supporting adrenals?

Jin gave you some good info. I was told to reduce as much stressors off the body as possible. So eating right (and that includes NOT eating stuff you are intolerant too), getting enough rest and don't overdo, exercise but not too strenuous, etc. Every stressor you can take off will help the adrenals recover. I was given a bunch of supplements to take. The one called "Adrenal Support" was basically a "multi" vitamin although not in the sense of the mega multi's you see, but it had several lower dosages of many vitamins, and the B vitamins. I'll look at the label when I get home to give you an idea of what exactly was in there.

They also actually did a saliva test to measure what exactly was out of balance, so they supplemented me based on that with specific things like DHEA, pregnenelone, progest, melatonin... I was on a set schedule with that and I do think they helped.

I was feeling MUCH better for a while afterwards, but slowly I can feel the adrenals going down again. I can't get up in the morning...I feel absolutely exhausted when I first get out of bed. It's a struggle to get ready for work, etc. I've cut back on the exercise again, which I had been slightly increasing (because I felt better, lol), but I think it was working against me. I'm also being more careful on my diet. I've stopped taking some of the supplements (doctor agreed) but did stop one that he wanted me to continue. I'll have to talk to him about that one though because it makes my lips burn.

Another quick question! I have always eaten a lot of garlic and still am on the anti-candida diet. Even though I've always eaten it, could it still be killing off the candida? I think I need to be gentle to my body for a while and that means avoiding a major herx, so I was wondering if I should perhaps leave off the garlic for a while?

You could try it for a week or two and see what happens...then introduce it a little at a time here and there.

  7. Sorry Jin, can't help with the bread recommendations, lol. Great that your mom and brother might be coming around!

Okay, so this morning I decided to search for cholestyramine and see what side affects are associated with taking it (the usual suspects, lol)...but I found this and thought it was interesting:

    GENERIC NAME: cholestyramine

    BRAND NAME: Questran, Questran Light

DRUG CLASS AND MECHANISM: Cholestyramine is an oral medication that reduces the levels of cholesterol in the blood and improves the itching associated with liver disease.

Cholesterol that is ingested or manufactured in the body is eliminated primarily by conversion to bile acids in the liver and excretion in bile. The bile enters the intestine, and most of the bile acids are reabsorbed from the intestine. These reabsorbed bile acids are removed from the blood by the liver and excreted again into bile. Thus, bile acids re-circulate in the body. Cholestyramine binds to bile acids in the intestine. This prevents their absorption, and the cholestyramine/bile acid complexes are eliminated in the stool. As a result, the body loses bile acids. To compensate for this loss, the liver increases the conversion of cholesterol to bile acids. The conversion of cholesterol to bile acids reduces the cholesterol in the body, and the levels of cholesterol drop in the blood.

One of the most troubling symptoms in patients with liver and biliary disease is itching. The itching is believed to be the result of accumulation of bile acids in the skin due to the inability of the liver or bile ducts to eliminate bile acids normally. By binding bile acids in the intestines and preventing their absorption, cholestyramine hastens the elimination of bile acids from the body and skin, and the itching improves.

Cholestyramine also binds some drugs in the intestine, preventing their absorption and hastening their elimination. Therefore, cholestyramine is useful in some situations in which there has been an overdose of drugs.

I bolded that part that really interested me. I've had horrible itching on my legs for years and of course last year had the issue with my bile ducts, so I'm wondering if some of that itching isn't related to the liver in my case. I already know that the liver is sort of overloaded...maybe this would help take away some of the itching too, lol.

  8. Thanks for the info Rachel!!! That does it...I'm asking whichever doctor I see first, lol. Realistically Dr. Rick probably wouldn't know much about it nor want to prescribe, but I think Dr. Carrie told me about some med and I'll be she might be willing. I don't see Dr. S until December. I don't know if Anna can prescribe.

Kassandra!!! Yay!!! I'm so excited that you got in so early!!!! A really good sign is when people fly in to see the doctor, lol.

Okay Jin - I'll look for the real crystal, lol.

Yay to Susie for getting back on the diet! I'm not fully convinced what I've been going through the last week wasn't in some small way related to following the diet. Except for the cashews, I've been good.

  9. Thanks for the update Rachel...also looking forward to hearing about the doctor's appointment!

Speaking of, did you ever find that chrystal? I think it really could help the insomnia. Regardless, having it on you or in your pocket will protect you from the vampiric people. I hate those people. They are everywhere!

    ...

That is awful about your stomach acting up again. :( Could it be the cashews? Or is it something else? Also, were you feeling that way after napping in the living room? The Candida in there may aggravate your system. Minimizing the exposure to it may help.

Nope, haven't got the crystal yet...I KNOW I have some swarovski(sp?) crystals though, so maybe I'll just start wearing my bracelets again, lol. I don't know if they are quartz though...not sure what kind of crystal they are.

And yep, I was in the living room...my doctor just warned me that until I get the carpet taken out I shouldn't spend a lot of time in the living room, but that's nearly impossible. I'm going to ask him or one of the other doctors I see about CSM...Carla is taking that I think...can't remember how to spell it though, lol. It's mentioned in Mold Warriors as something to take if you are constantly being exposed to the mold. It's a cholesterol med, but somehow it helps with the toxic mold thing. Realistically, it may be several more months before I can even THINK of ripping out the carpet, so the med would help in the meantime.

  10. Aw Susie...I think that's how we learn best sometimes. Vent away!

Sorry about that appointment Kassandra...like all other kinds of health care, it sometimes takes a while to find someone good. I'm sorry you didn't get anywhere today!

Andrea, yes, I ended up going to church. I actually had gone upstairs and put my pjs back on and got on the couch, but started feeling weird so went up got dresses again, put my makeup on and went. Told all my friends that I was exhausted and to excuse my yawning and seeming lack of interest, lol. They were really great and I'm glad I went.

I layed down on the couch for a while earlier and actually dozed a bit, but felt AWFUL when I woke up. Stomach was almost nauseated. Can't even imagine what THAT's from. :(

I'm just starting to read "Mold Warriors", and sheesh is IT scarey, lol. I am reading myself on every page. :( Lyme may be the biggest burden on my body, but I'm betting a lot of my symptoms are from the mold.

  11. Morning all! Just sitting here trying to decide if I want to go to church or not...don't feel horrible, but not great either. I'm mostly just exhausted. :( I'm dressed, but haven't put on any makeup yet...just ate, so maybe I'll feel more "energetic" in a bit.

I ate some cashews yesterday and so far no gastric upset, so I'm pretty sure it was the supplement. I'm not sure I even want to test that out by taking another one. :P

Played with my phone a bit last night. I had most of my stored numbers in the phone memory, so had to take the card out of the new phone so I could put it back in the old one to copy the numbers from the phone to the card...all set now, lol. Played with the handsfree earphone. THAT's fun, lol. Even downloaded a ringtone. Will play with the car charger today. :P

Andrea, glad your tooth is at least a bit better. If it's the bone, then yeah, that can take a while for the pain to subside unfortunately.

Jin - I've been wondering about all our absentees myself...haven't heard from any of them, but just saw Mia on.

    Hi Mia :P

Susie - your DS sounds so cute, lol.

I also have very little faith that anything will work at this point. I just feel like I'm going crazy, even after having slept 12 hours tonight I couldn't do anything today. And I have piles of homework!! Sigh! Sorry I'm really annoyed at everything right now.

Oh Kassandra, please hang in there. I think most of us here have felt this way at some point. There really IS hope, you just need to make that right connection with that right practitioner and I believe it WILL happen for you! Good luck today! :)

  12. Well I think I'm back, lol. But, I have to say that I think I don't have the energy to go back and respond to stuff from a few days ago, so just started on the previous page.

    My toes are orange. :P

My abdominal pain seems to be gone...we'll see. Didn't have it much yesterday but had terrible gassy bloat. I didn't eat anything to cause that so it had to be a left over from the new supplement or the cashews. I bought cashews today and I'm going to test that out tomorrow.

I am, however, VERY exhausted. My mom even commented on how tired I looked this morning. So I treated myself to a spa day today. I bought a little mini massage knobby thing for my neck and shoulders, and I also bought a buckwheat bean bag thing to go around my neck. I took a nice epsom salt bath soak then did the buckwheat bag, then the mini massager. Feel pretty good, but still extremely exhausted.

One really FUN thing happened today. After we ate, my mom wanted to look at Radio Shack...I wasn't particularly interested but it was on the way and there was a neat Beauty Supply place next door which has great polish and decals. Didn't find anything new that I wanted so went next door to Radio Shack. Bear with me, lol.

So when I went they had a display of phones...saw the cutest, smallest little flip phone... I couldn't stop looking at the stupid thing (the clerk was amused at my display, lol), but found my mom and followed her around a bit. While she was paying I made a little comment "shoot, now I'm going to go home and think about that stupid phone." So the clerk says, what service to you have...you may be eligible for an upgrade...do you want me to check?" Sure, what the heck, lol. It's a $150 phone and I figured maybe I'd get it for half price, and was trying to decide if I would go for it or not.

Turns out I was eligible for all kinds of stuff. I got the phone with a changeable face plate (one extra plate), a car charger, a handsfree ear bud kit, and a carrying case....guess how much? $5.00!!!!!!! All of that cost only $5!!!!! I can't believe it. Not only that but I got to keep my old phone, so I can switch back and forth if I want to. I'm in shock.

Phone is charging now, so haven't been able to play with it much, but dang it's cute. Who the heck cares if it works well, it's cute.

Andrea, is the pain better yet?

The fact that they're hungry is what's making you crave sugar. Eventually you will have more energy from not eating sugar than you do now from eating it.

Yes, I have to say that both of these were true for me. When I first went on the diet, I felt HORRIBLE for two whole weeks...like a mack truck hit me...muscle aches, headaches, pain in the eye sockets, head fog, weakness, you name it, and craved sugar like crazy. After the two week mark (well slightly over) it was a miraculous turn....I had more energy than I've EVER had and suddenly didn't crave ANY sugar.

I don't know what I'm doing for the detox...nothing I guess? I am going to a naturopath tomorrow with my mom (since it was her idea...she approved, lol!) I will talk to this lady and see what she says about me.

Yay!!!! This is really good news!

So I just took a Candida test for the fun of it and I got 51 points, over 21 was "severe"! Lol! I'm not surprised at all. Has anybody heard of Threelac? I just looked at the ingredients of this supposed candida-killing supplement and it says it has yeast sugar in it???? What the heck? Aren't you supposed to not have yeast!? Any info would be great!

I've never taken Threelac but I've heard mixed things about it...people either seem to love it or think it's a complete waste of money. I have heard that Theralac is "better", but don't know because I haven't taken that either.

I take a probiotic I buy at Whole Foods and one from my HN doctors. THe HN doctors want me to take an antifungal, but the stuff they gave me says to not take it if you have D...I guess he didn't read the label cuz we had just finished talking about how he thought my cookie binge several weeks ago pushed my candida over the moon, and was causing the D.:lol:

  13. Phew, I can finally breathe again at work. It's been a nightmare...had training Wednesday and Thursday for part of the days and then had to deal with the pile up of work. More training coming Monday too.

Well, I stayed home from choir last night because my gut hurt again...and NO Tom, no cookies were involved. I am thinking that it's either the cashews I ate (because the stupid training messed up my eating 'schedule' and I had to eat something) or more likely it's the new supplement I started a couple of days ago. The supplement is NADH and I couldn't find any that didn't have a "...tol" in it. I think these have mannitol. Any of the "tols" will give me problems, but I thought that it was in such a small amount in the supplements that it might be okay. Have to go online in a while and see if I can find any without. What the heck does a supplement need with that anyway. Sheesh, lol.

Not sure I can catch up with everything, that might have to come later. :P

  14. Hello everyone...been reading along but not much time to post. It's been busy at work, and will be the same today, and then yesterday evening my gut hurt so bad I couldn't sit up, so didn't even get on the computer...won't have time tonight either unless I stay home from choir.

Saw one of my HN doctors yesterday....he wants me to do a neurotransmitter test...have to wait for that to come in though...he just ordered it a couple of days ago. This will tell him what is what and maybe why I can't sleep. He says he got this test especially for his "hard case" insomniacs.<_<

  15. Oh Andrea, LOVE the avatar!!!

Well, I am nervous about tomorrow. I got get my shot, and have to talk to my doctor about what to do next. I worry she will not take me seriously on this Lyme testing issue. I hope she does not want me to get a root canal in that tooth! I cannot really wait long on it, due to it being in such bad shape. Wish me luck!

In other news, I got a fedora on the way! :P HSN was having some big clearance, and it just so happened I was looking around on the site, and they had one for only $13.11 on sale! :) It is black and has glitter! I cannot wait until it gets here. My hat will be here the 13th or maybe a bit sooner or later.

Good luck with the doctor today! Great bargain on the fedora. I LOVE bargains, lol. I just bought a top at Macy's for $2.38. Yes, that is correct, lol, $2.38. It was old merchandise (wonder by whose definition because it certainly looked just exactly like the other top I bought for $14.00....) that wasn't supposed to be out on the floor, and they were having a sale, and well, I got it for $2.38. :P

Thanks for responses. My concern is that because insurance never covers anything I seem to need, I don't know which test to run first?! I think an ulcer is a possibility, but I don't think we can have endoscopies, etc. It costs too much. I also just went to the allergist and found out that I'm allergic to a few things, but it didn't really give us the answers we were looking for. Anyone have any suggestions about which tests to run first? Also, how do I present these ideas to my doctor without him thinking I'm crazy!??? Doctors tend to think we're all making this stuff up...but why the hell would I make this stuff up? Who would want to feel like crap?? Ugh!

Sorry to post again, but I just looked up adrenal fatigue and I have SO MANY symptoms. I guess the question is, I have symptoms to so many of these things...but how do I know which one I have? Candida, adrenal fatigue, bacterial dysbiosis,

    H Pylori, etc.

It is so hard to figure it all out when the symptoms fit so many different things. I don't think my "regular" doctor would have checked for all these things...she did check thyroid, but only would run the basic that most doctors run, which doesn't catch many of us on the fringe.

Well they tested my adrenals by saliva test. I think most "traditional" doctors wouldn't run that kind of test though, although not positive they wouldn't since I'd never approached any other doctors about it. I think Adrenal Fatigue can be a condition by itself at times, but usually it's a by-product of something else. In my case, pretty sure it's the combo of lyme, mold toxicity, etc.

What helped though is taking burdens off the body...each burden you can take off will help the adrenals recover. I was told to avoid stress, eat right (what is right for you with foods you tolerate, but avoid caffeine, sugar, etc.), get enough rest and sleep, don't overdo exercise, but do get some exercise. Coincidentally, those are all the things my lyme doc told me that would help with the mold toxicity and lyme.

The H. Pylori wasn't found by my GI doc during the endoscopy, it was found by the HN doctors, I think through a stool test (I say I think because I took so many tests around that time...I know definitely adrenals were saliva, and I think H.Pylori was from the stool testing). Many doctors would argue that that isn't the best way to test, but they found it, and treated it and I did see a decrease in the acidy feeling in my esophagus and stomach.

Well, there is a good possibility you have them all. That is the thing. Also, you went to summer camp. You may have been bitten by a tick and did not know. If you contracted Lyme, that might explain a lot of this.

    So true

  16. Your topics don't appear to have been "pinned" yet. A moderator has to "pin" them and until they do the topic appears and the END of the list. There are 280 pages in the "coping" section so your posts are on page 279. It was a holiday weekend, so I'm guessing the mods just haven't seen it yet, but anyone who clicks on "new posts" can see it regardless of where it is and at least one of your posts has some responses. This happens to all posts, not just yours by the way.

The moderators are usually very quick to get them pinned, so I'm thinking it was just because it was a holiday weekend.

  17. Hello Ava, welcome! It sounds like you have a GREAT pharmacist, lol! Smart guy. Lyme causes a lot of the body's functions to not function properly, so gluten intolerance makes a lot of sense. I have a celiac gene, so I'm doubtful I can ever eat gluten regularly again, but perhaps once I get some of this stuff taken care of I'll at least not have to worry about cross-contamination.

Susie - it's my personal opinion that anyone who remembers being bitten, or who lives in an area where ticks are prevalent and isn't responding to the treatments for the conditions they have should consider getting tested for lyme. It's a tricky disease that can mimick all kinds of disorders. I read on one of the websites with symptoms that if you have 20 (so you meet the cutoff, lol) of the symptoms you should be tested...

As far as doctors, I can't remember if there are any from the UK on lymenet, but I think there must be, or there must be a UK version of the board.
