Jin said gagacious and decrapitated in the same sentence!
OMGosh, too funny!
The pansies were from a picture...that was my one attempt at watercolor and didn't go so well, lol. Actually I did attempt more, but they are WAY worse than that was so think I destroyed them all. I may have some Chinese Brush paintings left though. I actually liked some of my practice stuff.
Yep, they've got those slippers in light blue, and Macy's has them in a soft pink...the pink at Penneys is, well, bright.
-
OMG yes Donna, that is the one....and it is the BEST store in the entire world, I am pretty sure!
Saxy Spice. Yes, it fits. Um, think I have found my male equivilent on this forum.
that is SO stinkin scary.
I think it may be the best store! Every time we went I found the most wonderful things there!
-
It's been too long for me to keep straight which is which. All I know is, when driving south, one's on the left and one's on the right. Both have ample outdoor seating. Can't be in Big Sur and NOT have that.
Bev? Yooohoooooo!?
YOU CALLED, SENOR? Nepenthe is the one on the right as you're driving south with the ocean fron terrace and that AMAZING store (I am a shopping glutton).I love Nepenthe (especially the name- sweet elixir).
I also love the Big Sur River Inn because you can go sit in the river in these cool chairs and have your margaritas delivered. I should upload a pic if I can find one.
Okay, then YES, I LOVe that place. A friend and I used to drive down there...we'd go hiking then go to Nepenthe (and of course the store). Great place...miss my friend...she moved to New Mexico.
Hum, never went to the one where you sit in the river...sounds very nice indeed!
Yes- Donna- I THINK i feel better and may be at the tail end of surviving my first herx. Holy moly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Tom, if he is a girl, would be Tomasina (my dad's name is Tom but he's really a guy
)
I think he should be Saxy Spice
Rachel- It's SO GREAT to see you so excited and Donna to have finished her treatment!!!!!!!!!!!
I am SOOOO glad you are feeling better today! If you THINK you do, then you do.
I like Saxy Spice!
I'm truly excited about being at the end...I can now schedule some regular massages again! Yay.
-
Happy Birthday!!!!
-
Bev - does that mean you're feeling better today?!!
Is Nepenthe the one with the terrace outside...kind of above the neat little store that has the most unusual stuff sometimes?
Love that place!

Reporting in doctor's appointment: I have my first meeting with my naturopath tomorrow afternoon. I can't wait because I'm so tired of feeling so awful all the time.
Hopefully, I'll be on the path to good health soon, and I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for you all tomorrow night!
Thanks again for this thread; it's really like a gift for me at a time like this, as no one in my family or friends really "gets" it and what it's like to feel sick all the time, so I'm very thankful for all of you!
Can't wait to hear about the appointment!!! This thread is near and dear to all of us, that's for sure!
Most of us here don't have a brain, so having a bit of brain fog is not a negative here! So, 45 and single. We're going to need to see a picture ... not for my sake, I'm happily married ... but if you're going to be flirting around here, I'm the screener. Remember, we're shallow!
I find I have very limited energy for conflict these days. I prefer to accept that others see things differently than I do.Me too...conflict is very draining! I am also making a deal with myself to limit my stress on all levels. I am choosing NOT to be stressed as much.
Um, halloooooooooooooo,Lyme Cl**
Exactly!
What does this mean? Lyme Cl**???Lyme Clan! A term Rinne first coined somewhere a few hundred pages ago.
I'll let her explain it.
Andrea, I saw your post about appts: I have mine today to talk about my ig. results. im nervous. Can't wait to hear about this too!
wow you guys have been busy.......Rachel-
so happy you finished part of your treatment you must feel really good- treat yourself to something - a massage- blue toes
Got the perfect polish just waiting for me!
-
Any appointments this week for anyone?
Nothing special for me...Wednesday is my regular ole PT/chiropractic appointment, which I NOW only have to go every other week for.
-
Great appointment Rachel!!! Very exciting!
I am just amazed by all of it really. What's more amazing to me is that lyme ISN'T a big problem for you and it DOES seem to be for me. I am just astonished about that.
I think I will definitely call tomorrow to see if I can get on the list to see her next time.
I've never given myself shots, but have given two of my dogs LOTS of insulin shots. So where to you give yourself the shot? I thought it was in the cheek (not the ones on your face
) . Seems like it would be hard to give it to yourself there so you must be able to give it elsewhere.

Susie is seriously freaking tom out.
The Wailin' Jennys song The Parting Glass WAS played at my older brother's memorial and he's heavily on my mind as today would've been his 7th anniv w/ 2nd wife (woulda been lifelong - they were perfect). Her birthday was yesterday and we exchanged emails. HIS birthday is tomorrow - and strangely enough, so is my little brother's. Same day, 4 yrs apart.
Further freakout - I still use an old email addr hideehoman@________!! Made as a tribute to Cab Calloway & the Cotton Club era.
That hidden beach is really something isn't it? I'm not clear on how I first found out which unmarked dirt road to take, it was pre-internet days, but maybe it was a pamphlet from the Coast Gallery.
Usually we had the beach all to ourselves and one memorable time a couple sea otters lounged closeby.
Wow!! I agree with Susie...I sure don't believe any of us are here by accident!! You've mentioned your brothers just a bit recently...I'd like to hear more too!
-
Donna - - my mojitos would not poison you.
They have magical restorative qualities and are reputed to cure any condition. It's fun to sip with dingos, they're such lovely company. Just now and then, 'twould be nice to have someone raise a glass and stare lasciviously at me for something other than remnants of my food.
Glad to see you back, lol. We missed you.
It's horrible to NOT be able to get on here...had that rush of sheer terror a couple of times because of it.
Some day I will try one of your mojitos.
-
Susan PM'd me too...I did a quick search on the net and some of what I pulled up seemed like people were getting that message when they were trying to post on a message board (not this one). I don't get that error, but I get gateway timeout errors from my home computer on this board. I get them on this thread on certain pages, and I get them on totally tiny unrelated threads here too.
Some interesting California tick facts, from a thread on lymenet asking for statistics on counties west of someplace back east
:
California:
58 counties
- Lyme infected ticks found in 42 counties
- Deer ticks fond in 56 counties
I suppose that leaves 2 counties with no reports?
I am afraid it is true that Alison is not able to post. She is worried if she posts on this thread that she will end up having it deleted as well. I know she has been reading along, though. She explained everything in an e-mail. It is so sad.Rachelville misses Alison!
It would be great if you could get massages more often now! Since the treatments are not going to have to take up so much of your money, that is a possibility! Massages are supposed to be good for so many things. It really is interesting how they work. Circulation has an impact on everything, really. If not, maybe you could get some more of those groovy slippers!
Wow, I must have missed that thread!
I love massages...they really do help a lot for many things. I need the lymph drainage aid though.
And, the slippers...yes, they have a few colors I didn't get yet.
Someone tell me that feeling this crappy is a good thing, it will pass and it's just the antbiotic doing its job.Scat bombs.
I wish I knew if feeling crappy was a good thing...don't for sure. I guess I'll find out when I start treatments for some of this scat. From what I understand, feeling bad can be a good thing, but it usually is followed by a period of feeling a bit better...at least I think that's what I understand...
Anyway, sorry you are feeling scatty!
-
Yay, preliminary report sounds very exciting...can't wait to hear details. I PM'd you my email, let me know if you need it again.
I'm really interested in the LED stuff too. Scott posted something this week on lymenet about it, and so I got to read a bit more about it.
I am so excited for you!!!
-
Oh yeah, I do like rock!
OMGOSH!!!! I see Rachel...very anxiously awaiting...
Donna, That's great news that you're finished with your treatments! Has your stomach settled down also?A little. I still have bad days, but I'm almost back to my normal D.
How about you? How's the rash...settled down yet?
-
Okay, so I missed a bunch last night
-
Tom, I can give you some more hope.
Yep, and I can give you more too...I lift weights 5-6 days a week and can do at least 30 minutes of cardio 5 days a week...a few months ago, I could hardly make it through a session. I do feel my energy and health returning, even if it is slowly and I know someday I'll be able to do everything again. Oh, I'll be 52 in a couple of weeks.
and let me tell you something, I look REALLY GOOD nekkid and on fire.R is a fool.
I think you were a 7 when you started?? It will be interesting to see where you're at now...I cant wait to hear how your last appt. with Anna goes....
Oh...if you're planning on trying to get in for an appt. for Dr. Amy's next visit...you should get on the list ASAP. The sceduling for new patients is first come first serve....so after all follow-up patients get scheduled...whatever slots may be left go to the new patients. Amy from DB will call the new patients in order....so if you're not at the top of the list you may not get in...which is what happened to me in Dec...I was dead last on the list.
Thanks! Yes, I was 7...pretty good in Anna's eyes, not so good for Dr. S.
I am really anxious to hear what it is now. I'm pretty sure some things will have to be repeated, but I won't have to go every week any more. I'll call Amy Monday...should have done while I was there today, but I was so preoccupied with trying to figure out what supplements I should buy (that's why I'm broke now
NOT because of the fuzzy slippers)...weren't no big deal when I was going every week.
My appointment with Anna is July 14, so I had to make sure stuff would last until then.
-
Sounds cute, but if they are the same as the others.....not to warm. I wear my slippers all the time, along with socks/tights or my feet would freeze.
They are surprisingly warm, but yeah, they won't do for fall and winter...perfect for now though. Darned JC Penney's sale.
Mitch comment: Just a note about your avatar......Just imagine....you've just turned the corner onto planet Mercury, traveling down Candida Street, and you see at the end a lyme light. But wait! It isn't a dream and you're still on planet Earth. You've just entered the Twilight Zone.Doo Doo, Doo Doo, Doo Doo, Doo Doo.....

well, we're gonna have problems in a few months once football season starts... just remind me not to piss you off since the Eagles don't need any more bad luck... philly teams more than manage to frustrate their fans on their own..
I'm guessing your ex was a Raiders fan... you know it's cruel to put a hex on a team that already sucks, right?
they were struggling enough to get to 4 wins a year without you rallying your sisterhood rachelvillians for your diabolical plot... but I'm alright with it.. just keep the hexes over on the west coast, or at least down in dallas if that's not enough for you...
Nah, I love football too...and the Ex's team is a team that shall not be mentioned...too dangerous here.
But, doubt you would say it by accident.
For those of you on antibiotics (I'm on clarithromycin) do they ever just knock you out? I've been exhausted since i started them Wednesday. I know severe fatigue is a sign of an allergic reaction, but I think of SEVERE fatigue as being unable to get out of bed. I'm not THAT tired but i am pooped.I did take the percocet yesterday but that has an opposit effect on me- it actually wakes me up
When i had my gallbaldder out last year, I couldn't take it to late in the afternnon because I couldn't sleep. Anyone?
Drugs generally work on me differently than they are supposed to...everyone says to take benedryl to help you sleep, um not me...keeps me wide awake. Vicodin does the same thing.
I took clarithromycin in December/January as part of the H.Pylori treatment. I was pretty worn out around that time, so don't know if it was the antibiotics (took it with Amoxycillin too) or because I was just worn out. I had just come back from vacation and really was dragging myself around all the time. Severely exhausted...but I was already exhausted when I started them...can't say if they made me worse cuz I just don't remember that far back.

Well today I am officially FREE Spice! Or Broke Spice! Or Fuzzy Spice! And, definitely Smilie Spice!
I just had my LAST regular BioSET session. My next one will be with Anna, and it is the last one where she'll recheck certain things, test me for miasms and recheck my toxicity, etc. After that, I may have a session here or there and may need to come back for "maintenance" sessions, but we're done treating.
Today's session was insects. As expecte, I reacted to a lot of stuff. Ants (see where my love of relocation comes from with these little pests) and black widow spiders came up along with a bunch of other stuff. They were cross reacting with lots of organs and such. Ticks did not specifically come up, but they may have been in one of the mixes. Flies DID come up though, so I wonder if I got bit by a fly while in a foreign country. Heck the ones we have around here are nasty too.
And, I now have bright lime green fuzzy slippers and pretty purple fuzzy slippers to alternate with my bright pink fuzzy slippers.
I think I know why. It starts w/ the common leaky gut. Healthy intestinal walls have tinier spaces between cells. When those spaces expand, there's room for partially digested food particles to sneak thru to the bloodstream.Once there, everybody's like "hey who's the new guy" and antibodies are made to protect against the foreign invader. If fully digested before getting to the bloodstream, it's same old same old, but the leaky gut let a different molecule thru.
It's even why the foods eaten most often will be most likely to have this 'allergy'/sensitivity created. Bummer.
I think it's how corn became a problem for me.
Anyway - that's the story I've heard and I think it's pretty widely accepted.
I was diagnosed w/ yeast/candida in Jun05.
Oh, bball meant basketball. Guys would know that. LoL
I've heard this too! And I knew what BBall was too...my dad LOVED sports but my brother HATED them, so I was his "sports" kid.
Donna....I'm sure you'll see Dr. Amy today. I dont know if you'll get to meet her but I'm sure you'll see her walking around.....both her and Scott. Its busy busy busy...they pretty much are with patients from early morning till closing. Tomorrow they will get a little less sleep cuz of my 8:30 appt.Oh....about the scheduling of new patients...your health is just as important as anyones so if you want to see her then I say "go for it".
I did see her, in fact almost ran over her and Scott when I walked in, lol. That would not have been good...her arm was already in a brace.
They were leaving for lunch when I came. I met a nice older man in the lobby...I have a lot in common with his wife.
Anyway, he was their next appointment apparently.
I do think I will try to see her when she's here next time.
I like both of my Spices names. Hmmm....Tenacious Spice or Scientific Spice. Cant decide...I will let the Rachelvillians pick my Spice name.Well, you could combine them and be Scientenacious Spice.
I agree, try to see Dr. Amy. I read a blip on one of the lyme aware pages (forget the exact name, info you guys have posted though) where it talked of how much better ART is for testing intolerances then ELISA. Hoping to be able to do that at some point.Yeah, I'm pretty amazed at how accurate it is and I bet I'd learn even more with Dr. Amy and Dr. Scott in the same session.
I like saying "rhizoids". Maybe cuz it sounds like a space villian or maybe just the Z in the middle - like shazam or bizarre. You said rhizoids!
This sounds like heaven! There is that fabulous gluten-free Dude Ranch in Wyoming, my dream to visit - - three weeks out of the year they're totally gluten-free as they have a Celiac daughter. Of course, all you Lymies will never leave the confines of the Lodge due to Tick Terror......so then - - - let's go on a GLUTEN-FREE CRUISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay!I think I may still have that dude ranch bookmarked...not sure.
I often feel like an oxymoron. But you can definitely NOT be Oxymoron Spice cuz that would get shortened to all sorts of things...I just can't go to that unhappy place.
Maybe I can rachel my Spice names???Me thinks that is a given!
Hmmm.....I had to stop my supplements for both my sessions but of course they werent both done by Dr. Amy.OK... looks like I didnt need to stop taking stuff cuz I just read Dr. Amys letter and it didnt mention stopping supplements.
Her last letter did say to stop everything. I guess I'll take my normal stuff today.
Dang....I had the same preperation for Dr. Amy as I did with Scott...so I figured this was the "routine".
So yeah...if you do end up scheduling to see Dr. Amy...you will have to stop everything you're on before you see her.
The email Scott sends out has a big (not as in long, but as in type size
) paragraph about the supplements...that's the only reason I even thought about it.
-
Yes indeed, we really are a family!!!
And, yes to tenacious spice for Rachel! And, I LOVE Spunky Spice for Judy!
Rachel - I didn't have to stop my supplements for the second session...only the first.
I hope I at least get to meet Dr. Amy today while I'm there. I MAY consider seeing her next time if I can get in, but I also hate to take up a slot for someone who may really NEED it.
In the end I never FOUND these Dr.'s....its more like they found me. I feel like I've just been guided this whole time....yeah I do alot of "homework"....but mostly I know I'll be OK because there has been *someone* steering me in the right direction from the start.Yeah, I've been guided too...guided to this thread, and what are the odds that "someone" from my area would be a participant and would be able to give me the names of some great doctors who would end up helping me as much as they helped her!
So yeah....there was a time when I was "Dubious Spice".....about *everything*. I'm sure some of you just wanted to smack me right out of my denial.Well it never go to the point of relocation thoughts...but yeah I think we all accepted it long before you did in your case.
LOL thx but I'll be fine w/out a Spice Girls-style name. HehehheheThere can be Spice Guys too!!!
Mice and deer and rats oh my!Forgot to mention we've seen 3 deer within a block of us in the last week or two.
So while my deft maneuver (D'oh!) illuminated the depth of solidarity in Rachelville,I'm left wondering whether my basic premise is universally false.
I'm asking for all of your opinions (no need to provide reasons or substantiation) on the following scenario. I've read enough of most of the regulars' posts to trust your opinions.
One thing I do ask is that u disregard your personal health history.
Is it possible or impossible for a random unknown celiac (Celiac X perhaps?) to go gluten-free, discover that he/she has candida overgrowth, take the usual anti-candida measures, and in time become healthy again?
Oh and Laura - Congrats again! I think I haven't been here long enough to appreciate the significance at first.
Yes, but you are included in the solidarity too.
On your scenario...are you talking about healthy as in no candida or healthy as in no Celiac? I think once Celiac is triggered, always a Celiac. Gluten intolerance would be a different issue in my mind...I think if it's non-celiac gluten intolerance one could conceivably be free from it one day especially if it were caused by candida or any other issue. But, having said that...I know diddly squat about it all cuz my brain can't retain info very well these days.
I forgot everything. I have had the WORST glutening - - - just had among the most noxious diarrhea ever - - - delayed reaction, I think.Wow, the bread sounds heavenly, but so sorry you had such a violent reaction...hope it wasn't the bread.
I love your new avatar! It is so pretty! When did you paint that one? Your green toe nails are so pretty with your fuzzy pink slippers! My toe nails are still pink for now. That was so funny, Dippy Spice!about the lyme research! Yikes. I also visited Indiana, but that was when I was 18, so LONNNNGGGGG time ago.
Hum, painted that picture somewhere around 1999 or so...another made up thing. I saw a picture of a painting in the Coldwater Creek catalog and sort of based it on that.
Ok I woke up with a bug up my butt today its reallly early and I have already made and packaged gluten free brownies and choclate chip cookies for my friend who just had a baby. Cleaned my kitchen, and done my laundry. I know in like an hour i will be ready for bed!!Your appointment sounds WONDERFUL! I am so happy for you!
the above quoted paragraph just made me smile! Sounds a lot like I USED to be.
So much has said about what a family we've become and I feel that way too. It was funny, last night I was thinking if I won a million dollars, what would I do? I decided that I would take all of us on a luxurious spa vacation where we could swim with dolphins, bask in the sun, we could eat rinne bars all day, get massages, eat like pigs, swim in the warm sea and finally meet in person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah- and drink good cocktails! With that said, JUDY needs a Spice name. I'm thinking my Aunt Judy is SPUNKY SPICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wouldn't that be fun!!!
-
Now DARVOCET susie likes!!!! Darvocet takes me to my magic place.
made the appendectomy recovery quite fun.
Well, she actually was sent to jail for breaking parole, or something? ignoring the DUI(s)?
Good thing you kicked that drunkard to the curb, lovely Lyme-toed Donna!
Wasn't it for driving with a suspended license? Not sure my ex had a license either.
-
OK....have a question for you all that I am a bit scared to ask but I'm gonna throw it out there. Narcotic painkillers with Lyme? Anyone? I know my SIL"S sister took viocodin and it helped her function tremendously. Not a big fan, but some days really are unbearable (today was one of them.
We also need spice names for Charlie and Grump.
Pain killers...don't do well with them so I really don't have any input. Vicodin never seems to do anything for me...they gave them to me after both of my surgeries and last year before my root canal, but they didn't really touch the pain. I had better luck with tylenol. Weird I know, but that's me.
-
Um, I could be newbie spice?
Yes, but probably not very appropriate after another couple of pages in this thread...no one is a newbie for long here.
is there an actual shuttle launch? there's that wondrous testosterone in our Amazonian thread.Yes, where is Vincent...he would have loved updates on the shuttle launch!
how would I know, I am a little bit interested in the psychological drama of Paris Spice going to jailnever gave her a thought in my life, but now, this is sending a strong message.....I was a little irate that she got to be on HOUSE ARREST after serving just 3 days of her sentence- - damn, I"d like to be on house arrest in her house.......but now she's back in jail for the FULL sentence - it was reduced to half before - - - and I am actually concerned, I think she's going to have a nervous breakdown.
Me too. I am actually worried for her. I think she might have a breakdown for sure! My ex was arrested a few times for DUI (one of the reasons why he's ex by the way) and he didn't spent much time in jail either. Not saying that's right, just saying what happened to her is not so unusual.
-
Okay new pics...and on my personal page...pink fuzzy slippers and green toes.
-
Does MiaMia have a Spice name yet??
I think of her as Sweet Spice....cuz thats Mia....she's just one of the sweetest people ever.
Yeah, sweet or sweetest spice!
Its perfect for Rinne...but DANG....I'm gonna have a really hard time spelling that one.Or you could just type Sere Spice for short.
Or Dippy Spice.
Oh, oh, I feel myself on the verge cracking myself up again.
Eric and I are going out for a bit, but I will send out an email, maybe tomorrow? I haven't shared as much lately so I'll fill in on everything. I got your PM Susie (and by the way, Eric laughed when he saw that the dingo's wished me well) and I should have everyone else's email.Do you still have my email? I know that was a while ago...
Lifestream Buckwheat Waffles Question
in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Posted
Hum, I used to eat them regularly, but haven't had one in about a year I think...maybe six months. I don't remember having any taste after eating them though.
I stopped eating them because I found out I am intolerant to a bunch of stuff and Buckwheat was one of them. Still, don't remember an aftertaste of any kind though.
