  1. I called the corporate office a couple of weeks ago and was told that they "removed their gluten-free menu because they have changed some of their recipes, and encourage those who are gluten intolerant to NOT dine at Texas Roadhouse". If you want to call, their number is 1-800-TEX-ROAD
  2. The Thanksgiving Potluck for the Boulder-Longmont Celiac Support Group (Front Range Celiac Support Group) will be November 17th at 6pm at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (Martin Hall) in Longmont, CO. Please email BoulderGlutenFree...
  3. I was told that they use the same equipment for all products, and that some are released from the equipment with a flour-spray (like pam with flour) so it isn't an ingredient, but a process problem. I said "really???" and the guy said "yeah...sorry.."
  4. I had the most awful experience at the Legal Seafoods in the Theater District. They put regular ritz crackers on my lobster bake, and apologized, but wouldn't give me my money back because they said it would constitute a refund for "medical reasons" and I would have to sign a waiver first!!! But, I had a great meal at the PF Changs in the Theater District...
  5. I found a great syrup at Walmart that is called Maple Grove and is gluten-free and sugar free. It even says "gluten-free" on the label!
  6. Ditto on TCOYF. That is a great book. I use Fertility Friend to chart (the website). It is 45 a year for the premium membership, but you don't have to pay for that to just chart. That is for the forum and extra stuff. Good luck!
  7. Me too. I am confused now. My friend just called last week and sent this email to our group: After seeing the recent post about Starbucks, I called them to ask whether they were evaluating a gluten-free brownie. The representative said unfortunately they are not evaluating anything gluten-free at this time. She said several years ago they did once...
  8. Alamo Celiac Group is WONDERFUL! Their website is AlamoCeliac.org and their chairperson is Francie. Her email is FKelley@austin.rr.com. They are a really great group!
  9. I use Orgran elbow noodles, cook as directed, and melt Velveta on it. Yum!
  10. I just called the corporate office to see if they had a nation-wide gluten free menu, since I have seen different stories from different parts of the country. She said that they "pulled the gluten free menu for now, because they changed some of the recipes, and they have to redo the menu". I told her that I had read that some people had great experiences...
  11. Ditto. I get so depressed, I worry that I might do something I would regret. I have to keep that in mind when I think I want gluten. That symptom, depression, is FAR worse than the stomach ache, to me anyway.
  12. Really? I didn't know that! I am insulin resistant...thanks for sharing! Amy- I read an article about liver enzymes and Celiac...on the national listserv...it was a while back though. Have you tried google-ing it? I know there are studies out there....
  13. And Congrats!!
  14. I just moved to the Denver area and there are several great places!! I loved Maggiano's Little Italy, Beau Jo's Pizza, Deby's Gluten Free Bakery, and the places you listed that we all know (Outback, Chilis, PF Changs, etc). Hope you have a great trip!
  15. I haven't had "stomach" problems since going gluten-free two years ago. But almost exactly 4 months ago I started getting frequent nausea, after meals, at least 3 times a week. It is not always the same meal, time of day, or anything else I have noticed. I have taken pregnanacy tests, I had blood work done (cholesterol is 166!, but insulin levels are a little...
  16. Thanks Angel and 2 Boys, I appreciate it.
  17. I haven't been back to this thread because I was depressed I was not pregnant, I had an ovarian cyst that was causing all kinds of hormonal problems......back to trying now....
  18. Hm, I know that there are the Delphi lists, but I have never used them, just read about other people using them. I just read labels, and call companies if I have a question. I don't know if a "master list" could really stay up-to-date, with the ingredient changes that take place. I just advise reading labels
  19. Thank you both very much! I will contact my insurance. I am having a hard time breathing here, and I wonder how much of it is due to my nose....
  20. No Way! That is so gross!! Thanks for sharing!!

    ARCHIVED Good News

That is wonderful! Where are you going to school? I have considered it myself, but when I looked up schools, there weren't many "offical" R.D. programs in the US. I don't know what the difference is, but it seems like only some programs are backed by the ADA or something??
  22. I also saw it and I thought it was AMAZING to see these issues and the gluten free diet discussed on the View! Woohoo! Progress! I just bought Jenny's new book to support her....
  23. I have a deviated septum. My right nostril has been smaller than my left for my whole life. It wasn't that much of a problem unless I had a cold and was trying to breathe out of that one smaller nostril. Well, I just moved to a much higher altitude, and I am having trouble breathing. And if I just puch my nose to the right (opening that nostril more) it is...

    ARCHIVED Maggiano's

Man, that sucks! I had that happen...somewhere, I can't remember where now, I think it was Outback, where they just came back and scooped up the plate and were like "Don't Eat That!" after I already had been. How are you feeling? Are you ok?
  25. Oh yeah, and they won't give me a refund without signing a release form (since it would be an "illness related" refund). So to avoid a lawsuit, I have to sign a form and have it notorized to get a refund....
