  1. Until this year I got bumps on my upper arms. They went away when I switched from Aveeno daily moisturizer to Jergens unscented. Cleared up in one month. Had nothing to do with gluten.
  2. You know there are great tasting gluten free equivalents for almost everything. You could have had Snyders or Glutino gluten free pretzels that taste/feel/look identical to regular pretzels.
  3. Migraines can possibly be a sign of magnesium deficiency amongst other things. Once I started taking magnesium my migraines immediately stopped happening. I never got tested for it, just gave it a try. This was before celiac. Maybe her new diet has less magnesium or some other nutrient she needs.
  4. San J Tamari is great.
  5. It looks like EMA is negative and TTG IGA is 9 (weak positive). So next step would be endoscopy with a gastroenterologist I would imagine.
  6. Giovanni 50:50 shampoo and conditioner, liquid neutrogena soap, purpose soap, Jergens unscented moisturizer
  7. To save money on test vials you can put 4 ingredients in the Nima at a time. Then at least you've narrowed it down to 4.
  8. I didn't have any food restrictions in college but I'll give this a shot. Get in the habit of cooking your entire weeks food on Sunday. Divvy it up into individual servings and refrigerate them. That way you can concentrate on having everything be clean for this one day but the rest of the week you are just microwaving Rubbermaid containers. Because you have...
  9. Looks like you have him on a good diet anyway. As far as deficiencies go, my doc wants to wait until my numbers finish going down before checking for deficiences as many will resolve on their own.
  10. If you're in the US and over 18 you can order a blood test via an online store. I do that at one that works with Labcorp. Your insurance won't cover it though.
  11. When I started supplementing with magnesium my migraines went away. Haven't had one since.
  12. Endoscopy is used to confirm celiac. I'd go to a good gastroenterologist instead of a regular doctor. I looked at reviews online to pick out my gastroenterologist.
  13. I'd go to a gastroenterologist if the doctor isn't one. A high on one test is supposed to indicate celiac. You're saying she had a high on one test, but a negative on endoscopy. I hear because she's a child you need a positive diagnosis for school for some reason. I thought a blood test high and positive response to a gluten free diet would get you that diagnosis...
  14. If your numbers are normal maybe it's not enough to bother you at all.
  15. Tostitos scoops are supposedly gluten free. Lays original potato chips seem to be eaten by many here.
  16. What are her favorite foods? We can give good tasting gluten free equivalents. For example: Bagels - Canyon Bakehouse makes a fantastic tasting gluten free plain bagel Cereal - Gorilla Munch cereal tastes great and reminds me of corn pops Chocolate cake mix - Betty Crocker has a gluten free chocolate cake mix that tastes no different to...
  17. I ordered a Nima sensor and it arrived recently. I tested it out on various items and got some interesting results. Dog food - low gluten Gluten free dog biscuits - low gluten water - smiley face Land O Lakes american cheese - smiley face Morning Moos chocolate drink - smiley face Olay Quench moisturizer - smiley face Olay...
  18. I've had Raynauds since high school. After many years with it my hands and feet never go white anymore. What I've done is increase the temperature in the house so I never get it when inside. I wear ski mittens instead of gloves when outside. My ski boots are heated. I never stand outside in the winter for long without wearing snow boots to keep my feet warm...
  19. Canyon Bakehouse multigrain bread is the best bread I have tasted. No difference as far as I'm concerned. Canyon bakehouse also has bagels that are very good. Their bread definitely has the texture and feel of real bread. They have a fake rye bread that does a pretty good job for replacing rye bread.
  20. When you go to a party, there are people there with medical diets, you just don't notice, because they are quiet about it. In college there was a guy that didn't drink. He hung out in bars just like everyone else, he just didn't drink anything other than water. I didn't know until he told me he didn't drink. And he wasn't trying to hide it. He just didn't...
  21. Gluten caused the damage. Getting rid of the gluten should stop further damage, but your insides still need to heal. I cannot take most pills/medicines due to other issues so I've learned how to use food for gastro issues instead of meds. I'll tell you what I've used for digestive issues, but everyone is different and you could be sensitive to the very...
  22. Wow! Not a doc, but if 82 (extremely high) does not indicate celiac they wouldn't use it for celiac testing. Send a copy of these results to a gastroenterologist so they can either diagnose based on that or do an endoscopy before your son goes gluten free. I don't understand why the primary sent you to a pediatrition instead of a gastro after seeing those...
  23. findmeglutenfree is a great app.
  24. I only get better on a bland liquid diet. It's easy on my damaged intestines. As long as my blood test numbers keep going down I don't question it.
  25. I'd try going gluten free if I were in your position. Give it a try, hopefully it works. The food log suggested above is a great way to see what bothers you. It can take a few days for a food to have an effect. If gluten free doesn't help then try a diet where you start with a very simple diet that doesn't bother you, then add on a new food every few days...
