  1. Just wondering if you went to the food fair that was in Michigan this weekend? How was it?
  2. Yes, the small egg shaped ones. But it seems my daughter was kind enough to remove temptation for me and ate them all. She's lucky she doesn't care for Dark Chocolate and left me all the Dove eggs!!!
  3. I always made the Bette Hagman sourdough, you do keep a sourdough starter going and the longer it does it's thing the better the bread gets. Do you have the recipe? If not I can send it. She's got a lot of good ones, you might want to borrow or get one of her cookbooks.
  4. Well, my daughter beat me to them so I don't have to worry about it this year I'll check them out next year.
  5. I seem to do Tater Tots just fine. Unfortunately, the last several times I've had my beloved Smiley Fries I have had "D" within 12 hours. They are gluten-free, I think my system just doesn't process fried things well. Tater Tots don't seem to be as deep fried, but maybe I'm kidding myself?
  6. We're on the same wave length, I just called them a few days ago. The woman I spoke with said they can't certifiy they are gluten-free as they are made on machines that produce products w/ wheat.... but the ingredients look safe (I eat them a lot and so far so good). Here's the email I just got from Ore Ida on the Tater Tots Thank you for visiting...
  7. To paraphrase Marie Antionette.... Let Them Eat gluten-free cake! I'd have the whole thing gluten-free, and chance are no one would know if you didn't tell them. Congrats!!
  8. Welcome! You'll find other Michiganders in the Meeting room too: Open Original Shared Link
  9. {{{{{{{{{{HUG}}}}}}}}}}}
  10. I heard that Dr. Kelch, who is quite the head honcho at the University of Michigan Hosptial is on a gluten-free diet as well!!
  11. I'd have to second most of Berneses comments (minus the hubby one!). I really love that I've lost 50+ pounds without even trying. It just comes from a naturally healthy diet. I also love that I'm trusting my body a little bit more each day... it's nice not to have to scope out where the bathrooms are the minute I walk into a store
  12. I also got a couple Cadburry Caramel Truffles... they look amazing, can't beleive the Bunny wouldn't read labels for me.... I hope it's ok!
  13. The bunny left me some Dove dark chocolate eggs and the little Reese's eggs. There's no ingredient info on the Hershey website; are they ok to have? They're staring at me...
  14. When you do make your bread, cut it up right away and freeze it into individual portions! My homemade bread would be stale within a day or so. Yes, warm and tasty right out of the "oven" (I use a breadmachine) but wouldn't keep well.
  15. I got a valentine's box from them and it was so nice to have a box of different flavored truffles to pick from - they were all safe, no worries and yet so decadent.
  16. When you really want a treat, order from the Chocolate Emporium.... it's gluten-free, DF, CF, soy free, corn free, peanut free and so delicious!! Open Original Shared Link
  17. When I first started this I was sitting down to dinner one day and my 8 year old saw me drinking a glass of water and said "can you have that? Is it gluten-free?"
  18. I agree with Tiffjake. I got the exact same list from L'oreal when I asked about a shampoo I was using. A good CYA on their part - they're saying "this is what you can't have, read your labels".
  19. Going corn-free would be even harder I think.... but at least you would know and you would feel good and that would be worth it!!! I hope this is the answer you've been searching so hard to find. My friend's mom has corn intolerence, it's very difficult for her - but she also chooses to have some corn things and just deal with the stomach issues. I...

    ARCHIVED Doctors-worth It?

I saw a nutrionist, she's a good friend of my mom. Her daughter also has Celiac so she was very helpful and gave me lots of newbie info. If your insurnace would pay for it, then I'd say it couldn't hurt!
  21. In a word: KNICKIKNICK (even if I still can't spell it!). Great bread, the KToos, donuts... yum... Non food related, would be to check everything. Never would have thought to check mascara, foot lotions, etc. Non product related - and by far the most important - a group where I can ask anything (even about poop), look up a lot of information and...
  22. Or maybe you'll realize you should be eating less (or more!).
  23. What is fake milk made out of?
  24. Might want to see if it's dairy free too? I've never had any problems taking mine.
  25. Well, so far so good - feeling fine! And, alas, the company is closed during passover. Fortunately, I bought enough of the other kind that should tide me over
