  1. Lame Advertisement makes a wonderful baby lotion. My daughter has very sensitive skin and it did wonders for her dry scaly skin patches/rashes. We also used to use Aveeno exclusively. Perhaps you have an Lame Advertisement respresentative near you? They have a gluten free list available upon request. Honestly, unless your son is displaying symptoms, there...
  2. I generally make homemade mac & cheese, but when I'm in a fix I use Tinkyada pasta with either a jar of cheese whiz OR I use the Kraft cheese powder. Wal-mart sells it in a canister. It's just like Kraft mac & cheese.
  3. Maraschino cherries are awesome in chocolate cake, so is coconut or chocolate chips. I think Enjoy Life makes a diary free chocolate chip. Raspberry preserves folded in in swirls would also be wonderful. Then you could top with decadant chocolate frosting and fresh raspberries. Yum! That sounds insanely good. Peanut butter chips (don't know if they're dairy...
  4. Dairy free is an excellent idea! You are right about lactose being absorbed through the tips of the villi. If it appears to be helping her, definitely stay dairy free for a few months until you're comfortable gradually adding it back in. Everyone is different with recovery. For me I saw improvement after just a few hours. Others it takes months, a very...
  5. cereal - Envirokidz Panda Puffs (adult and child friendly) pasta - Tinkyada rice milk - ? dairy free "butter" - ? pizza crust - Kinnikinnick pretzels/crackers - Glutino pretzels brownie mix - GFP pancake/waffle mix - ? muffins/doughnuts - Kinnikinnick chix nuggets - Wellshire farms (IF an oven is in the suites) gluten-free/dairy free ice cream ...
  6. I'm 33 weeks pregnant and this is my concern also. I'm trying hard not to get too stressed about it, but it's not easy. I am planning on calling the hospital's nutritionist and discussing my options. I will also be speaking with a head person on the maternity ward to ensure that I'll be able to use the refrigerator there to store my own snacks and possibly...
  7. What's the difference between the Gluten Free Pantry Quick Mix and the Pamela's equivalent? The GFP quick mix is too sweet for many of my old recipes. Is the Pamela's stuff the same way? Can I freeze that like I do the GFP Quick Mix to have it last a long time?
  8. Oh my goodness, that sounds FABULOUS!!! I may have to buy every flavor and see which one I like the best. I think maybe I'll just ask for a case of each for my birthday. Even if I don't like one of the flavors, either my husband or my daughter will.
  9. There's a jewish market there. I can't remember the name of it, but it has a small list of gluten free items: hot dogs, potato chips, etc. Just be sure that they're planning on being open the day that you're going. I know they close for all Jewish holidays and some other days too. The same jewish market is at Dutch Wonderland and I always just get a hot dog...
  10. There are some Outbacks along the way, but they don't generally advertise on the highway, so they can be a bit difficult to find. If you take the time to map out Outback locations on their website, please forward that on. We make the trip from PA to FL every year. We generally stop at Wendy's on the way down to Florida. We also eat the side salads from McDonalds...
  11. What do you guys think of the rainforest and apple raisin walnut flavors? I had the nutty cranberry and loved it. My birthday's coming up so I'm thinking of asking for cases of the stuff from Amazon, but I want to make sure the other flavors are just as good as the nutty cran before putting it on my wish list.
  12. I just bought a bag of their gluten free granola and man, is it good. However, when I went on their website I saw that they follow codex. It does NOT have any gluten containing ingredients in it and it did NOT make me sick. Should I trust it? I know that just because it says it follows codex definitions doesn't mean that it automatically has 200ppm. Does...
  13. Molly, that is PRICELESS!!!! :D :D
  14. Sorry, Kassandra, I don't have a recipe. I use Altiplano Quinoa packets. They're just like the instant oatmeal packets. Very tasty. I'm sure you could just buy quinoa flakes and follow the directions on the box adding whatever flavorings you'd want. I like dried apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and raisins on mine. That's what I add to the plain packet of quinoa...
  15. How about quinoa? You can make up flavored bags of quinoa that he just needs to add hot water too. Some brown sugar, dried fruit, and cinnamon is a favorite around here. Altiplano makes flavored instant quinoa packets, just like oatmeal packets, but I'm not sure if they're casein and soy free. I think they may be though. They're delicious if you like hot...
  16. Whew, glad to hear that about the Gymboree bubbles. That's what my daughter uses and I love them because they don't stain anything.
  17. Wow, that's really a shame, Jessica. I didn't see the part where they said they only ship to the surrounding states. I'm glad I live in PA!!!
  18. Apparently you can order their stuff over the phone or online at their website. So, enjoy everyone!!!
  19. Open Original Shared Link Oops, I guess they're called Kandy Kakes. They're amazing little cakes covered in peanut butter and enrobed in chocolate. They were my favorite treat pre-dx. Ok, I couldn't wait... I had to try one... They are aboslutely AMAZING!!! They taste exactly like the real thing!!! For those of you who miss Kandy Kakes, you GOTTA try...
  20. I bought a tray of Tandy Cakes made by Gluten Free 4 Me today, but I'm half afraid to try them. This is the thing I miss more than anything. I used to love those little tastycake tandy cakes, the peanut butter ones. Anyway, I went to their website tonight and noticed that they also make hot dog buns among many other tasty looking things. Has anyone tried...
  21. I just wanted to add that just cleaning out your toaster isn't enough. Small crumbs will remain lodged in the toaster and it's impossible to get all the gluten out, plus, it sticks to the walls of the toaster. Ideally you should have a seperate toaster for gluten free items. If you don't want to do that or can't do that, I would recommend toasta bags. Even...
  22. Amanda, we keep meaning to go to the one in York too. I just never have an excuse to go out there. It's an hour drive for us. If you get out there, let me know how it is.
  23. I just wanted to add my two cents. I used to get sick at Outback frequently. Then I realized there are a few additional precautions to take to ensure safety. They don't gaurantee that you'll not get sick, but they certainly put the odds in your favor. I ALWAYS ask them to rinse my glass out before filling it. I ALWAYS emphasize that I get REALLY sick...
  24. I just wanted to mention that I've had Barkat cones in my pantry since the first warm day of spring. They weren't in a sealed bag or anything, just in the box they came in. We ate some last night and they were wonderful! Just like a real ice cream cone! I couldn't believe they weren't stale or anything. So, my cone recommendation would have to be Barkat,...
