She's naming him Lukas. Isn't that beautiful? I believe her full name choice was Lukas Alexander. Sounds so regal, doesn't it?

ARCHIVED Creamed Chipped Beef On Toast
Guhlia replied to Guhlia's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
It is modified considerably from the recipe on the bag of dried beef. I bought pre-packaged dried beef to avoid the whole deli slicer dilemna. LOL Anyway, we poured it over Kinnikinnick's cheese tapioca bread and it was absolutely phenomenal! I think it was even better than what I remember. -
Well, I just got back from the doctor and nothing's changed... No dilation, no changes to my cervix, the baby isn't locked in, nothing... I was hoping maybe there would be some sign that my body does in fact work. Nothing yet though. Now I have a slight rant... I've been back from the doctor for a little over two hours and my husband has yet to ask me...

How are you hanging in Stef? Anything yet? We're still 18 days and counting over here.

ARCHIVED I Think Walmart's gluten-free Just Glutenated Me! Help!
Guhlia replied to JustJust's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
There are many, many, many gluten free products that are made in a facility that also processes wheat. I use GV brand products regularly and I've never had a problem. I've been using them for over a year. In my experience GV is one of the safer mainstream brand names. It really depends though on your level of sensitivity and your personal level of comfort... -
This morning I made creamed chipped beef on toast for my family. This is the first time I've had it in over 3 years (since my dx). We used to go out to breakfast every Sunday morning and this is what I would get every single time. Anyway, it was a wonderful success and it tasted almost better than what I remember. 3 oz. chipped dried beef 4 Tbsp butter...

How are you feeling by now? Any better? I hope so. John better be taking care of you right this minute! Let us know if you need anything. I may be pregnant as can be, but I'm still a hop skip and a jump away.

Ok guys... Since we normally talk about Celiac poop... I have a question... I KNOW I didn't get glutened anytime within the last week, but I have had D for over a day now. Could this relate to the pregnancy or am I probably budding yet another intolerance? I have been casein free so I know it couldn't possibly relate to that if I even have an issue there...

ARCHIVED Guten Free Art Supplies
Guhlia replied to NewGFMom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
When I contacted Crayola they said that all products are gluten free except for the doughs so long as they are manufactured by Crayola and not licensed by another company (ie: Disney paint your own cookies). Crayola can be bought in bulk by schools. -
ARCHIVED The Ever Controversial Mcdonald's French Fry Thread
Guhlia replied to saaa-wheat<3's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
I have never had a reaction to McDonalds fries and I am relatively sensitive. I do, however, only eat them on rare occasion for fear of CC. My McD's has their french fry frier on the opposite side of the restaurant from the other fryers and they're very allergy aware. I'm lucky. I'm not sure I'd risk eating at any other McDonalds just because of CC risks... -
ARCHIVED Happy Birthday Blueeyedmanda!
Guhlia replied to jerseyangel's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Happy birthday, Amanda! I hope your day is as wonderful as you are, friend. -
Michelle, thank you for your post. I am so jealous that you got to do part of your labor in water. I have to be in bed for mine, hooked up to monitors, since I'm a vbac. I'm so glad that I'm choosing to go this route instead of having another c-section. I only wish my first one would have proceded as a natural birth. So you had a vbac too? What was your perception...

Length: 22" Weight: 7 lbs. 6 oz. Time of Birth: 1:28am Labor Hours: 7 hours Vbac or c/section: natural Delivery Date: 8/25

Basing this on my last labor, it really isn't as bad as some women say. I was able to handle the pain just fine without any medication or meditation. I played cards most of the way through until the contractions never let up. I was induced, so I just turned into one 2 hour long contraction at the end. The nurses told me this is worse than actually giving...

You mean now? Nope, I'm not dilated and my cervix is still long, no changes there as of last week. Though, I didn't get an exam this week since she dropped, so it's hard to say. I will have an exam next Tuesday.

My thermometer says 95... It doesn't feel too bad out though. Humid, very humid.

You should've seen me last week! The belly was up into my throat! I am definitely quite a bit lower than I was a week ago. My doctor hasn't said anything though, so who knows... Thanks guys! I feel like such a cow right now. I feel good though still, so I guess it's all good. This entire pregnancy has been SO much easier than the last one!!! Paula...

Just went to the doctor... Everything looks good. I asked her approximately how big the baby is... Of course I'm not going to ruin all of that for you, but I'm glad to have an idea. She seemed fairly confident in her estimation.

My last daughter: Length - 21" Weight - 7 lbs. 1 oz. hair (lots or none) - little time of birth (be sure to put what time zone you are guessing) - 9pm ish EST - we don't actually know hours of labor - 2 seperate 6 hour inductions, never natural labor c/s or vbac - c/s My guess for Annika: Length - 22" Weight - 7 lbs. Hair - little Time...

I think it sounds like fun! Do I get to put my predictions in too?

Thank you, kevieb... I've never even talked to anyone before that's had a vbac. It was starting to freak me out a bit. I really wanted to go natural last time, no medication, nothing, but she just wouldn't come. They ended up having to induce me and it was really quite the experience. It was just such a shame it didn't end the way we had hoped, especially...

Yes, they're letting me try natural birth, but I'm starting to get a little scared. I know there are increased risks of doing the vbac and it has me a little freaked out. At first that was what I really, really wanted, but now I'm not so sure. I see the doctor tomorrow afternoon, so I'll speak with her about the risks and what not. Stef, is this your first...

Ha... I never went through the whole nesting thing with my first. She was two weeks late and still not ready to come out. They gave me a c-section and she was still relatively small and waxy, not ready to come out yet obviously. So, this is all new to me. I'm really hoping this one will hold out for at least another week or so... I'm only 36 weeks and I'm...

Late last night I believe I finally entered the nesting phase of the pregnancy. Ugh... I was up until 3am working on things for the baby. Now this morning I woke up at 6am with the horrible urge to get moving and start cleaning. I'm usually one that needs 8 hours or so of sleep to function. I'm up and ready to go today with 3 hours of sleep. How long will...
