    ARCHIVED Dinner Tonight

Call the restaurant ahead of time and speak to the manager. He/She will most likely be able to guide you. If they're totally ignorant about gluten/food allergies perhaps it would be best to just eat before you go and then just enjoy everyone else's company while you're there.
  2. It was honestly the coolest thing I've ever done. The machine looked just like a regular old ultrasound machine, nothing fancy looking, just looked brand new (which it was). She did the 2D ultrasound on me which was incredibly detailed for a 2D ultrasound, then she hit a little button on the screen which switched it to 3D mode. It was a 2 second delayed movie...
  3. Yeah, Tori's just her nickname. Her full name is Victoria Madison Guhl. We wanted something that would be suitable for any profession, we figured between Victoria and Tori she would fit in anywhere.
  4. We're traveling to Butler, Indiana tomorrow and will be staying there for almost a week. We're taking the RV so I'll have a stove and a microwave for cooking. I don't think we'll be going out for dinner at all, but it would be nice to have an option or two if we decide to. The guy we're staying with said that the closest Outback is 45 minutes away. Ugh.....
  5. Yeah, Annika's not a very common name at all. I think it's very pretty though. It's been one of my favorite names since I was a little girl. I used to have a book (can't remember what book) and there were two twins in it, I think the boy's name was Tommy and the girl's name was Annika. I thought it was such a neat name, but my husband vetoed it with my first...
  6. I really want to name her Annika, but my husband isn't completely sold on that name. I just think it's such a feminine name. I want to call her baby Annie then when she's little. That way, when she grows up she has so many choices for for what she gets to be called: Ann, Annie, Nik, Nikki, Annika... There are just so many cute choices there and I like all...
  7. Yeah, they have a gluten free menu online. Some Chili's apparently have the menu on site too. Ours did. I was really impressed that the hostess knew what gluten free meant. That gave me some comfort. I was really worried about eating out at a new place, pregnant. If you check out your chili's, try the loaded mashed potatoes! They're really good! I'm craving...
  8. Tori actually really wanted a baby brother. She wanted to teach him how to play tee ball with her. She's such a tomboy. She took one look at the pictures though and said "look mommy, it's a baby girl!" Not that you could see in the pictures she was looking at, I guess she just had a hunch. She's still excited, but she told me that the new baby girl wasn't...
  9. I just got my third ultrasound done today and the woman did a 3d ultrasound for me, for free. Anyway, they couldn't tell with the last ultrasound what the baby was. This time it was pretty clear that it's a girl!!
  10. LUNA makes a blueberry yogurt bar and they are NOT gluten free. They contain oats. I think this may actually have been your culprit.

    ARCHIVED Wildfire ?

We are traveling to IL this summer... I'd love to go to Wildfire. Does anyone know if small children are frowned upon there? We have a three year old, relatively well behaved, but still three.
  12. Try the Gluten Free Pantry's Favorite Sandwich Bread Mix. That was the first bread that I made in my machine and it was really simple and good. I add cheddar cheese, onions, and green peppers to my bread just to give it a little extra kick. Unless of course I'm making bread for sandwiches, then I leave it plain. I don't use this mix anymore, but it's a really...

    ARCHIVED Bucks County Pa

I don't have any suggestions for Bucks County, but if you can't find someone in your area, you might try RGAL in Lancaster, PA. They have a gastro that has Celiac. I don't know how knowledgable he is, but at least he has the disease. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
  14. Moon Sand is gluten free. It's neat stuff.
  15. Well, the vomiting stopped within 24 hours. I had "brain shivers" for about a week and a half. I can't explain what they are, you'd have to experience it. I had horrible ups and downs emotionally for about a month. I think within two months I was pretty much all better. It was definitely a nasty experience. I will NEVER take anti depressants again. NEVER...
  16. I had a very, very hard time getting off of AD's. I was on Cymbalta. Granted, my doc didn't ween me at all, she told me to just stop taking it. I was sick as a dog. Hopefully you'll be able to ween slowly enough that you don't have to go through any of that. Brain shivers are the worst.
  17. This is absolutely possible. His body is now probably beginning to get the nutrients that it so desperately needs to perform properly. The more well nourished his body is, the better it will work, including things like running and stamina.
  18. Trust me, you were definitely NOT the only one... Both Don and I hated him from the very beginning. He just got under our skin.
  19. I had a bacon burger with loaded mashed potato (YUM) and Tori had a cheeseburger with the same mashed potato. She LOVED their burgers. I LOVED their loaded mashed potato! We will definitely be going back. I haven't tried Cheeseburger in Paradise yet, but I keep meaning to. Trouble is that whenever we're in the York area it's so late that restaurants...
  20. If you want hot food, I suggest buying a Thermos food jar. The more expensive ones will keep food hot for hours. Lots of things keep in a thermos like mac & cheese, baked beans, mashed potato, hot dogs, casseroles, soup, stuffed shells or lasagna, etc... This is how I eat at the racetrack every weekend and it works very well for me. Actually, I feed my...
  21. Ok, so we just got a new Chili's about a year ago and I haven't had the guts to try it up until today. I really wanted to meet my friend for lunch and Chili's was the only place that made sense since Outback isn't open at lunch time. So, I printed off the Chili's gluten free menu and headed in with my Triumph cards. When I walked in, I asked the hostess if...
  22. My favorites thus far have been... Season 1: Nikki McKibbin and Justin Guarini (he comes from my area) Season 2: Kimberly Caldwell, Vanessa Olivarez, and Rueben Studdard Season 3: Briana Ramirez-Rial, Fantasia Barrino, and Amy Adams Season 4: Carrie Underwood and Jessica Sierra Season 5: Katharine McPhee and Chris Daughtry (also loved Bucky and...
  23. For those of you who watched previous years... Who were your favorites? Who were the guys/girls that you just couldn't stand?
