  1. Eat whole, natural foods. Don't eat processed, packaged convenience foods. Maybe start by adding lots of fresh vegetables to your diet, and taking out at least one synthetic ingredient (such as hydrogenated oil, high fructose corn syrup or splenda).
  2. Apple flax muffins are good. There's a recipe on the back of Bob's ground flax that's easy to make gluten-free
  3. I wouldn't think about it this way, because you already ate it, and your mind can be really powerful in a situation like this. There's a chance that it was okay and you won't get sick or do any damage. Just learn from the situation and be more careful next time
  4. Gluten is a protein, and wheat germ oil (or any oil) should not contain protein. So, the clerk was correct. However, a lot of people here won't use products with wheat germ oli, becasue they feel it's a risk that just isn't worth taking. I personally will use shampoo and conditioner that contain wheat germ oil, but I don't think I would put it on my lips...
  5. Thanks for the idea. I think I'm gonna make some pumpkin choc chip cookies this weekend. I found a recipe on recipezaar...I think I'll just sub Arrowhead Mills baking mix for the flour and see how it works
  6. That's what I would think too, but it doesn't have that brewer's yeast texture. hmmmm...it's a mystery
  7. I'm glad you've had the same results! Ashtanga yoga is the best . I'm only practicing twice a week too. I think they say you need at least three classes per week to experience the full benefits (whatever those might be lol). Maybe I'll try to add an extra class.
  8. Maybe it's different in the UK? I think the syrups are gluten-free in the US (but I'm not positive about that). edit: i just saw your other thread. looks like you all figured it out
  9. Yay, we have another Aussie here If you ever need a dairy-free milk, look for Aussie Dream. It's a rice milk, and it's everywhere (maybe you've found it already). The calcium enriched version tastes best, imo. I don't know about cheese over there (but I don't think I ever looked). Sooo, anyway, hi everyone. I finally lost the pounds I wanted...
  10. Can anyone venture to guess what's actually in the Say Cheez? LOL. It just says "natural cheddar cheese flavors" or something like that....and it's gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, egg-free etc. But what is it? The flavor is so strong and the color is so bright orange, I'm just a bit curious. I kind of want to buy more of it, but I want to know...
  11. I would recommend not cheating on the milk, just for a couple months. I only say that because once you completely free your body of the offending proteins, the cravings will likely go away. Or, well...I won't give any specific advice regarding this next idea...but...a lot of people say once they give in and eat some gluten, it doesn't taste as good...
  12. HI Lurking here is most enjoyable They should, once in a while...it makes things a bit more...er..."interesting"
  13. Hey people - Can I just say how hilarious it is to see all of your avatars on other threads? There's Hot Tub Danny, the half-naked zombie...and I keep thinking Janet is Susie.. . Those poor innocent newbies who just want to know about safe toasters and imitation crab must be a bit confused
  14. That's basically a much better way to saying what I was trying to say
  15. You don't HAVE to do anything based on what you read here. People just post their personal experiences, and a lot of people don't heal completely until they rid themselves of all possible cc sources. You can always try not replacing your cookware. If, after several months you are not better, you can then consider taking more extreme measures. ...
  16. I coule be wrong, but I think it does that because so many people abbreviate "celiac disease" and if we just wrote c.d. all the time, threads and the board as a whole would be less findable via google....but that's just a guess.
  17. I know huh...what's the deal with the billion dollar granola...very unTrader Joe-like. It's pretty much just sugary corn too Yummy though. I buy it and eat it often
  18. Oh - and I don't react to their products
  19. Open Original Shared Link a list. They're always getting new products, so don't assume that just because something's not on the list, it's not safe. They sell great gluten-free ginger snaps and gluten-free granola. I've heard good things about the gluten-free pancakes too.
  20. Here are a couple recipes: 2 cups water
  21. Roads Ends Organics makes one that people seem to like. I think there's a recipe for nacho cheese sauce somewhere on this board that uses cashews.
  22. I can't do coffee either. Tazo chai with a bit of hemp milk (or regular milk if you do dairy) and honey is a pretty good substitute
  23. Yeah, that's a great idea...and you can help her with the recipes and the marketing to the gluten-free community...how fun . Keep us posted.
  24. I can't do goat cheese. The best sub is called Parma. You might have to order it online (it's worth it). It's made by Eat in the Raw.
