  1. Cause Your Special has a really really awesome pizza crust mix...
  2. Hmm..okay, so yesterday: nectarine almonds dried cranberries Whole Foods red lentil salad cup of Whole Foods chicken rice soup pistachios a few bites of dark chocolate some Trader Joe's veggie flax chips with slices of heirloom tomato and avocado (<---good, btw LOL) hmpf well at least the day didn't involve bread or potato chips...
  3. I think the fact that some do react and others don't is just an indication that people have different levels of soy sensitivity, or maybe some people react to the protein and others react to something else? I don't know but I think if you tried lecithin you'd know if it was a problem or not. I think I've trained myself to be disgusted by all forms...
  4. Are you vegan? I don't eat much meat, and I don't eat soy, so I eat a lot of beans (mainly pinto, black and garbanzo) and lentils. It's a good idea to add beans to your rice for a more complete protein. Hemp and flax might be good additions to your diet as well. I sometimes use cashews (to make creamy sauces and such). If you're looking for packaged...
  5. LOL, honestly, I would never touch ghee, so maybe my whole reasoning regarding soy doesn't make sense. For some reason I'm way less afraid of soy than I am of dairy and gluten. It's all very strange....
  6. I was just ranking forms of soy in terms of the severity of my symptoms. It is possible that symptoms and reactions in the body vary drastically depending on the type of soy consumed, and the way the soy is prepared and/or processed. One thing fermetation does, for example, is make certain foods easier to digest. Hence, I believe I could 'possibly getting...
  7. Soy flour is the worst Anything that says "soy protein" is the next worst Lecithin I can get away with in small amounts I avoid soy sauce, but could probably tolerate small amounts if I really wanted to
  8. Since we're sharing pumpkin recipes, here's one I've been wanting to try. I definitely will as soon as I can get a hold of a pumpkin PUMPKIN SOUP IN ITS OWN SHELL 1 five lb. pumpkin (if smaller or larger, adjust the amount of liquid) Cut a lid off the top, scoop out the seeds and stringy parts, and rub the inside flesh with salt. Set the pumpkin...
  9. A lot of people react to quinoa and buckwheat.
  10. Hey Kassandra - I just wanted to pop in and make a suggestion (maybe this has been suggested already - haven't caught up with all the posts yet). Anyway, sorry if I have you confused with someone else, but did I read on another thread that you take Yasmin? Yasmin makes me fatigued and drastically lowers my blood pressure. When I'm on it I always feel a...
  11. If you're worried, just make the cake dairy-free
  12. I Can't Belive It's Not Butter contains dairy....
  13. Bringing your own meal in that situation can be a good idea, but you might avoid such disapointment if instead you make one or two really great gluten-free dishes that you can bring and share with everyone. I especially like to bring desserts. It makes me feel included and shows people that my gluten-free diet isn't all that weird. Watching people...
  14. Sweet and sour chicken is breaded. I know some celiacs (though not the ones on this board LOL) who will order sweet and sour chicken or orange chicken, and ask for it to be breaded with corn starch. You'd have to know the restaurant well though and be comfortable communicating with them. Sometimes dishes made with the white sauces are gluten-free ...
  15. I have never been formally tested but I'm gluten-free and will never go back to eating gluten. If you're really done with testing, but want to try the diet, just go ahead and try it. Gluten could be your problem, dairy could be your problem...there's a whole bunch of possibilities, and in some circumstances figuring it out on your own (without the help...
  16. It doesn't sound like a peanut allergy (not that you shouldn't get tested if you're worried). It sounds more like a legume issue to be honest. Peanut butter is also known to be pretty moldy. Some people react to it for that reason too.
  17. Actually, you definitely do LOL. I won't elaborate on that though since this is the weight loss thread LOL So...today: B - young coconut (I had fun chopping it open at 6:30 this morning LOL) and a handful of almonds L - garbanzo beans, pistachios and herb salad mix with sesame oil and sea salt (random, I know) S - some more almonds and and...
  18. Hi. I've been gluten-free for four years, and I've only contacted food manufacturers...maybe twice in that entire time. If I were to pick up a product that said "peanuts and salt," I would assume it was safe and I would eat it. If the ingredients are that simple and straightforward, I would not worry about hidden gluten content. However, if you...
  19. The best bet is to find a maple syrup in which the only igredient is maple syrup
  20. LOL yeah, and I wouldn't drink an entire glass of it or anything like that if you've been dairy-free for a while. It might be a good idea to start with small amounts of raw cheese. If you're used to highly processed/pasteurized dairy, it might taste different to you, but I actually know a few people who really like it. I tried raw goat cheese a while...
  21. In some cases, people who can't tolerate pasteurized milk can tolerate raw milk. Gluten would not be an issue, but you'd have to decide if it's worth trying, in terms of the severity of your casein and/or lactose intolerace.
  22. Hmm I haven't posted my meals in a while. Maybe I should do that. Up until yesterday I've been really bad - to the point where I don't really remember what I've eaten (though I do recall an entire bag of Whole Foods veggie chips two days ago ). So yeah, let's start with yesterday LOL Yesterday: Breakfast - Jay Robbs egg white protein with rice...
  23. Get in the habit of stopping at grocery stores or health food markets instead of restaurants when you're hungry. You might have to eat simple stuff while traveling, but it's very doable.

I would recommend getting some Triumph (or similair) dining cards...They should help you communicate with any restaurant staff when a language barrier can be an issue....
  25. I believe wheat is a cheap filler, and that is why it's added to so many processed foods....
