  1. It's funny, because ingesting soy causes majoy skin problems for me, but I use Giovanni Organics shampoo, conditioner, leave-in hair treatment and hair spray...with no problems, and one of the ingredients in each of those items is soy protein. Jason body wash is good...and I think it's soy-free.
  2. Welcome back Kat and Liz. So I'm a bit lighter on the scale but I seem to keep getting flabbier despite that. I think I only worked-out twice in the last week..hmpf oh well Yesterday I ate: B - almonds and raisins L - brought a can of soup to work but no can opener lol, so I had a Naked Power-C smoothie and a Nana's chocolate cookie...
  3. Distilled vinegar is safe for people with celiac disease.
  4. Thanks for the info. I just found this, too...so I dunno Sorry for confusing the issue lol
  5. This is from www.godairyfree.com Open Original Shared Link ps. where did you find dairy-free frozen yogurt?????
  6. Honestly, I would just stop talking to her about it. There is nothing you can do with people like that.
  7. A lot of the time for a meal I'll chop up a bunch of veggies, add a can of garbanzo beans, olive oil (that's the key) and salt...it's super cheap and filling. If you live near a trader joes you can get inexpensive packages of nuts and seeds. They have the "processed in a shared facility" warning but I've never reacted. If you're living on fruit maybe you...
  8. Healthy gluten-free food is actually pretty inexpensive. It's the pre-packaged junk replacement stuff that'll kill your wallet. I know it's hard in college though
  9. I think I should post here today - I'm trying to have a good week... Yesterday - B - Perky's flax cereal with raisins and hemp milk L - Spinach, pecan and garbanzo bean salad (with acv, olive oil and sea salt) and a small cup Whole Foods chicken rice soup S - dried cranberries, some rice chips with hummus D - spinach, red onion, cauliflower...
  10. They should have eggs and raw plain meat in the dining hall. Ask if they can give you plain uncooked chicken breasts (and other meats). My college dining hall did this for any student that asked..you just had to pay with your meal card. Then get a George Foreman for your room and cook the meat yourself. They should also be able to boil eggs for you, so...
  11. Interesting....I googled the acne-helping aspect of it and people seem to really like the stuff. I'm kind of curious to try it now. Keep us posted on how it goes.
  12. LOL Is this some sort of herbal drink? What does it do? I am also curious...
  13. Maybe you should give yourself another couple months to heal, without the added burden of dairy...then reintroduce dairy and see how it goes.
  14. Are you new to the gluten-free diet? A lot of people can't tolerate milk until their villi heal. Some cheeses contain less lactose than others, so maybe that's why you react most severely to milk and ice cream.
  15. I keep my organic peanut butter in the fridge. As long as you mix the oil well before using it and putting it in the fridge, it'll stay soft and usable.
  16. I have a couple new favorite Trader's products - omega dried cranberries and Creamy Vegetable Medley Bisque (or something like that - it's dairy-free, soy-free and yummy). Oh - and I love that they have organic garbanzo beans for 89 cents per can.
  17. It is possible that oats can contain trace amounts of wheat.
  18. Sorry you got sick. Remember though that some celiacs eat oats with no problems, so try not to worry too much. Obviously oats don't work for you right now, but the symptoms will probably pass soon.
  19. I'm enjoying reading about everyone's meals. You guys have a good variety of healthy stuff going on these days. It's giving me lots of ideas. I think I need to go to Trader's later to try and find those chili lime chicken burgers Liz mentioned. Ha I'm just proud that the chocolate bar I started (at 8am yesterday) isn't gone yet. I'm sure...
  20. Look at some raw vegan cookbooks, or do a search online for raw vegan recipes. Most of the recipes will be free of your offending ingredients, and they will at least give you some new ideas. Of course, you can add meat if you want to some of the dishes, which will give you lots to eat and lots to work with.
  21. You can't avoid every crumb of gluten. Just do the best you can. Take reasonable precautions to the best of your ability. You will be okay
  22. Hi Jin . Yes, things are going well. I lurk here occasionally when I have free time at work I like to see how you all are doing I believe Yaz contains the same ingredient as Yasmin - the one that will lower your blood pressure. Just thought I'd point that out since you mentioned low blood pressure was a problem for you. I know it's hard...
  23. I'm guessing alcoholic drinks aren't digested well by anyone with a leaky gut. You might be sensitive to sulfites as well.
  24. Okay so yesterday: B - almonds and dried cranberries L - butter lettuce with red pepper, broccoli and chicken breast (dressing-free b/c my dressing container got stuck shut somehow ) S - some corn chips with avocado and heirloom tomato (I really wish I lived in a chip-free house LOL) D - small bowl of Tinkyada with marinara sauce and...
  25. Okay so the rice yogurt finally appeared in my health food store.. First I tried the vanilla flavor. It has a chunky, gelatin-like consistancy and, well, it's gross. Stay away from that one. The blueberry and peach flavors are good - creamy, good texture and everything...but reeeally sweet - like 20 grams of sugar in each cup. Too much. Not...
