  1. I think it has to do with leaky gut. I don't think these additional intolerances are always permanent.
  2. Whole Foods has a great selection, but it's really pricey. Trader Joe's has some good options, if you have one of those nearby. Farmer's markets are great places to get good food for cheaper prices as well.

I tried the b5 thing several years ago. I remember it helping a bit, but I eventually felt that taking such huge quantities just wasn't good for my body. The whole vitamin b connection is interesting though. I do always feel better overall when I take a vitamin b complex. Just one vitamin b capsule a day however seems to have a similair effect as massive...
  4. Sometimes I use Jay Robb's egg white protein powder and mix it with rice milk. It's pretty good
  5. I was thinking that looked like not enough food LOL My eating habits have become really strange. Yesterday: 2 Enjoy Life Apple Cinnamon bars 1 plum 1 bananna brown rice lentils 2 stalks celerey 2 pieces organic bacon 2 eggs some corn chips Okay, that's a lot of food. LOL Today so far I've had Nutty Rice cereal with...
  6. hummus (most brands are gluten, soy and casein-free, or you can make it easily in a blender) cocoa chia bars (really good and filling - if you can find them ) corn thins with lunch meat (I eat Applegate Farms) anything with avocado is good and filling alpsnack bars I can't think of many other packaged snacks that are too filling,...
  7. Today: B - Two buckwheat waffles with peanut butter L - spinach, celerey, chicken breast, sliced almonds, olive oil, balsamic S - coconut flour muffin D - hopefully protein of some sort with veggies LOL Yesterday: B - coconut flour muffin (I justified it protein-wise since the 12-muffin recipe used nine eggs LOL) S - a few Corn Thins L - Sunshine...
  8. I don't ever say anything to the bride (for some reason I feel strongly that it's important not to, but everyone has different ideas about this)...but...as others have already said, it's usually easy enough to contact the caterer directly. Even if you do that you should carry some snacks in your purse. That way if worse comes to worse at least you won't...
  9. LOL   Did anybody see the Scrubs episode that mentioned gluten? I think I've seen at least a bajillion episodes of Scrubs, but I somehow missed that one. I keep hoping there will be a you tube of it one of these days
  10. I don't think these people want celiac "soooo badly." What they want is an answer to their ongoing health problems. Granted, I don't understand why people with negative test results and no improvement on the gluten-free diet label themselves celiac, while blaming all of their severe symptoms on mysertious sources of cc, but that's another issue that...
  11. Okay so I weighed in at the Doctors office this morning and was happy to learn I don't have as much to lose as I thought. Still a few pounds to go though. Yesterday: B - Jay Robb's protein shake L - Health Valley Organic black bean soup and an apple S - Clif Nectar Bar, (lots of) Lundberg Rice Chips, nectarine D - Lettuce, cucumbers, avocado...
  12. This is why your body is not working properly. This is the most imortant thing right now. If you post what you're eating (also include supplements and soaps, shampoos, cosmetics etc), maybe we can help you figure out where the gluten is coming from.
  13. If you are in the US, I believe M&M's are gluten-free.
  14. Office politics are the worst I left my last job a year ago and to this day, I cannot believe the types of rumors that would go around about me there. I know how difficult it is to feel trapped in a situation like that. I did finally up and leave (though I did it on good terms and they told me I was welcome back). I think the best thing is to...

Burt's Bee's blemish stick is really effective for me (the Dr. Burt's one, not the parsley one).
  16. Yes, and I'm all about convincing people to go dairy-free....however, in this case, you might have just overdone it. I'd try cutting dairy out completely for a few weeks. You can then slowly reintroduce small amounts of it and see how you do
  17. Hi - I think I need to join this too . I guess I will start by posting what I ate today (starting tomorrow would be sooo much better LOL) but here goes: B - Clif Nectar Bar and Jay Robb's egg white protein powder mixed with rice milk L - Amy's Indian Vegetable Korma Snack/Second Lunch - Erewon corn flakes with rice milk and a banana...
  18. I gain weight when I go off the pill. Others lose weight though. There are so many different types of pills and they effect people differently, so it's hard to say.
  19. I've heard of a program through WIC that gives low-income families free coupons to use at local farmer's markets. That means you might be able to get free organic, local produce (which is definitely the healthiest food you can eat on a gluten-free diet). I read that many people don't even know about or take advantage of the program. You might look into...
  20. I think it's important to note here that labeling laws vary greatly from country to country, and even if a product is gluten-free in one country, it might not be in another. I don't know much about labeling laws and toothpaste brands in the UK, but I do think it's safe to say that most toothpastes are safe. (Don't take my word for it though )
  21. I was just going to say I don't think they have Amy's in the UK (if that's where Snowcovered is from?), but I guess I was really wrong. Check it out...Amy's is everywhere. I had no idea Open Original Shared Link
  22. Sorry to hear about that. If I were in that situation, I would take what I could from the reception (fruits, veggies - basically fill a plate to make it look like you're eating). You can then take something out of your purse that you can discretely eat when nobody's looking. I usually stash stuff like almonds and gluten-free energy bars in my purse...
  23. I get them from dairy.
  24. I've never read Gluten-Free Living, but I really like Living Without. It includes really great recipes and articles. I was actually just thinking I wish I had remembered to pick it up at Whole Foods yesterday...
