  1. I'm not a parent, but I just came across a cracker recipe, so I'll respond anyway In terms of your son's diet consisting of dairy, pasta, crackers and fruit, you should be in pretty good shape for a transition. He can still have dairy, Tinkyada pasta is truly just as good as "normal" pasta, he can still have fruit....that just leaves crackers. Open...
  2. Organicville makes a sesame tamari dressing Open Original Shared Link You also might have luck combining seasame oil with tamari and a splash of rice wine vinegar (sorry I don't have specific measuremts - it's easy to figure out as you're mixing though). For a soy-free version I leave out the tamari, or sometimes just mix seasame oil with plum vingegar...
  3. Arrowhead Mills makes a berry-free rice flake cereal. It is lightly sweetened, but I doubt it's much sweeter than Special K (which contains sweetner in the form of high fructose corn syrup).
  4. Just to re-emphasize what others have said, make sure you toast all gluten-free bread. Somehow the heating up process transforms the bread from dry/crumbly/yucky to pretty edible and not all that bad. Glutino Cinnamon Raison bread is pretty good toasted. Whole Foods usually carries it....
  5. I don't think that's as much of an issue if the raw milk comes from organic grass-fed cows (but I might not know what I'm talking aboutt ) Raw milk also contains amylase, catalase, lactoperoxidase, lipase and phosphatase (according to www.raw-milk-facts.com) Sorry to go off topic. I just find this subject interesting for some reason....
  6. If you can have soy, I believe there's soemthing called Vegan Slices (or Soymage maybe?) You can try chreese (www.chreese.com) Or... You can try to make raw vegan cheese with cashews (I don't have a recipe on hand but I know there are some on this board)
  7. If you eat whole, natural foods like the ones you listed, you will actually be getting more nutrition (though I would recommend fresh veggies if possible). It is safe and it is how human beings are actually meant to eat. Pasteurized, processed dairy does not provide the kind of nutrition people think it does. Here is one article with some info: Open...
  8. Today I have: rainbow chard avocado celerey Applegate Farms organic smoked chicken (sliced) Annies Naturals Dijon Vingarette I will see how it is in a few hours I also like: sliced cucumbers tomatoes a splash of seasame oil a splash of plum vinegar Or: Baby spinach Garbonzo beans Carrots Celerey a splash of balsamic...
  9. Chebe dough rolls out nicely with a rolling pin. Don't know if that's exactly what you're looking for but it makes really good pizzas and cinnamon rolls
  10. I don't ever want to cheat because the food I eat is SO good! Really, you should make yourself some awesome gluten-free food (cake and chicken and cookies and everything)...it can be GOOD!
  11. Hi - If it were me I would use 1/2 cup all purpose gluten-free flour instead. Bob's Red Mill is one option that will likely work. Generally, when I bake (b/c I'm not a real expert at baking) I just substitute all-purpose gluten-free flour for all-purpose regular flour at a ratio of 1:1. In cakes and some breads I add 1 tsp. xanthan gum as well. There...
  12. Hi - before I even opened this thread I assumed this is what you would be asking. I notice that about the waffles too. It's not really all that annoying (they're still good ), but it is strange. I am sensitive to soy but that's not a normal soy reaction for me. I try to limit packaged food as well so may we're just not used to a certain ingredient. Who...
  13. I use coconut oil instead of butter in a lot of things. Organic virgin coconut oil is the best, and it's very healthy. For milk I use hemp milk or rice milk. Almond milk is good too. Can't help you much with cheese, but once in a while I have Mac and Chreese from Roads Ends Organics and I actually like it a lot (www.chreese.com) I should tell you...
  14. I eat them and don't react at all.
  15. Sometimes for breakfast I mix a scoop of the chocolate powder with rice milk (I just shake it up in a nalgene bottle). I think it tastes really good actually.
  16. I have had luck at Cilantros Live (in Hillcrest, Chula Vista and Carlsbad), Le Bambou (in Del Mar), Apertivo (in North Park)....hmmm if you tell me which area you'll be in I might be able to narrow it down more. There's plenty of Mexican food, seafood and good health food/grocery stores (Whole Foods, Henry's, Trader Joes, OB People's Co-op, Jimbos). There...
  17. Chebe Focaccia makes a great appetizer (I add olive oil, sea salt and tomatoes...then fresh basil after it's baked) Here are a couple more ideas that I copied and pasted from other websites. I think meet your criteria Tomato cups by Sherrie Tomato Cups 6 medium tomatoes 1/2small cucumber 2 sticks celery 2 spring onoins 1...
  18. Bummer, but thanks for posting that info. I'm in California too, so I'll stop wasting my time trying to find it for a while . Who would have thought rice yogurt would be that popular
  19. No, trying the gluten-free diet cannot hurt you. I believe there are hundreds of symptoms associated with celiac disease. The symptoms can vary greatly from person to person. Other food intolerances, leaky gut etc. might also be affecting you. There are many, many foods you can eat. Some people take a more "all natural" approach (organic...
  20. Kiss My Face makes one that's just olive oil, water and salt. Not exactly "mainstream"...but it can be found at many mainstream drug stores these days.
  21. Cool. I will look forward to your review of the product if you end up trying it
  22. Open Original Shared Link It's gluten-free, dairy-free and soy-free and I really want to try it , but I can't find it anywhere. Has anyone tried it? Is it good?
