  1. This scares me. I am in the process of looking for a new primary myself. Celiac or not, I think your symptoms warrant a GI and endocrinologist visit. Find a doctor you can trust and keep plugging away. Lots of things can cause malapsorbtion other then celiac and you need someone who is going to take you seriously.
  2. I did not know that! I just assumed I outgrew it. I used to get asthmatic reactions to the cold virus as a kid. My son unfortunately often does as well. No eczema but I do get a weird sun related rash with small itchy bumps on my arms/hands if I am out in the sun and forget sunscreen.
  3. I have mild asthma as well (tested recently) and had it as a kid and "outgrew it". But it is also back. My brother w/ celiac has to be on an asthma medication post diagnosis.
  4. My sibling always had negative bloodwork with positive biopsy for celiac. I had only weak positive DGP IGA twice which went negative quickly on the gluten-free diet and I was not even adhering that well to the diet. My thyroid ultrasound indicated Hasi's but my thyroid levels and antibodies were normal. My endo said the gluten caused the inflammation and...
  5. Ask for a thyroid ultrasound. My levels were always normal but my thyroid ultrasound came back abnormal and my Endo told me that the antibodies were attacking my thyroid.
  6. My endo's office researches all meds, probiotics and vitamins for gluten and only wants us buying those products. I had to get rid of my old vitamin last week. The last month has been so bad that even weekends are fraught with developing plans to have a backup for my son ICE. Work is piling up, etc, then the health episodes too. So last night I decided...
  7. Omg! That is awful. I read some about vagal stuff with celiac. I wonder if that was your issue as a kid too. Could you have developed a secondary brother intolerance?! (; I have yet to pass out, close, but my body seems to be self correcting in the form of hiking my bp. The other day I felt a warm rush and shortness of breath, then it was done...
  8. My endo just put me on this, but also a very strong probiotic. Innate i think it is called. Did they suggest a probiotic?
  9. Jmg, thank you for that. The freaking episodes are scary. I just happened to catch the bp yesterday and it takes like an hour to recover from the drop-hike-normalize cycle. I just learned of the sugar episodes as well. Carry craisins with me now and yes, I am also learning to balance my protein. Cycling lady, you are right. I was doing a poor...
  10. We just bought a few new kitchen items yesterday and the bf gave me my own space in the kitchen. I also have a list of stuff from the endo so I have new toothpaste and makeup items as well. Yesterday, I had an episode, bp dropped, then soared, then recovered. I cannot function during these freaking things. I think it might be vagal, bp starts dropping...
  11. The human body is so weird! It is a comfort to hear others go through similar things. Every new added symptoms scares the heck out of me. I admit, i still am super nervous that it is something serious. For months my primary and GI said none of this could be caused by celiac but the endo assures me the root problem is celiac and all of this is the branches...
  12. ferritin: 10 ng/dl standard: 10-154, total iron binding capacity: 532 mcg/dL standard: 250-450. Your ferritin is low but the capacity is high. Was there a saturation percentage? My ferritin and iron were dropping and i took iron for several months. However, my saturation or TIBC were never above range. So honestly, I would not take iron until...
  13. I have read about a connection with POTS (mild issues myself), roemheld syndrome and general nervous system issues and celiac. How fast did your heart rate get? How scary. I hope they are able to figure it out soon!
  14. I am curious, since i do not have a gallbladder, how does this effect you?
  15. Posted on here before. Was gluten-free after positive DGP IGA, then did 6 week challenge with a normal biopsy. DQ2 positive, brother with confirmed celic, father is highly likely as well, nephew with gene and oat allergies. Been hell ever since that freaking gluten challenge last winter. Doctor's were treating me like it was all in my head and I visited the...
  16. Thank you. Yes, I just came to the whole foods/restaurant realization. Due to the thyroid ultrasound, we are testing antibodies today. My doctor thinks I am nuts. I ate many a donut on the challenge!
  17. Thank you for your comments. I also get these attacks during the day where I feel like I may pass out. I think this is my blood pressure tanking. It sometimes takes hours to feel better. Things go numb, vision gets weird, short of breath. Eating helps but it is almost as if my body has gone into shock. It takes awhile for the blood to move to where it should...
  18. I have posted on here before. DQ2, brother with celiac, DGP iGA was the only mildly elevated test. Was gluten-free so did 6 week challenge last winter. Negative biopsy. I am gluten-free now but do go out to eat. Prior to the challenge my health was good. Since then I have: Chest pain, pain between shoulder blades, periods of shortness of breath, heart...
  19. We shall see. Doc's office ordered an ultrasound today.
  20. I get this. Took me awhile to figure out what it was.
  21. Yep that's me. I am not back on gluten. But I have messed up a few times accidentally. I also did not really give up going out to eat. I'm very cautious about what I'm eating, but not aware of cross-contamination issues. I feel so horrible some days, it's really getting me scared. I also still get these tiny little bUrps all the time and now neuropathy in...
  22. I am still going through tests. But does anyone get an odd sensation above the navel and upper quadrant? Not pain, but more like an odd slight squeezing sensation. I also sometimes feel nauseous. But only slightly. I have added neuropathy to my list of weird stuff now. I go through periods during the day where it feels like my body has been hijacked with...
  23. Thanks. The chest pain mostly vanished with the gluten, except what I think might be a muscular pain carried over from my upper back. Tried omeprazole for 2 weeks hoping silent reflux was the cause of my shortness of breath, to no avail so discontinued it.
  24. DQ2 positive, mild DGP IGA elevation, (all others negative) brother with confirmed celiac via biopsy with negative labs but positive gene. I went gluten-free last year for 8 months. then I ate gluten for 6 weeks prior to a biopsy and it was negative. So I resumed gluten for a month but I kept getting all sorts of weird symptoms. I'm pretty sure my primary...
