  1. So, myself and others have only tested positive to DGP IGA. Mine was 32 recently on a gluten-free diet, but possibly exposed as it was totally negative before. I was confused by a quote on the Celiac Center's website saying if a weak positive is a DGP IGA it can be disregarded. So I queried. I got an email response informing me that for unknown reasons...
  2. I will check it out!
  3. I am totally doing this tonight!
  4. I wish I could comment on this with a ton of experience. Sometime in late July, after a heart issue at the gym and one more 5 mile treadmill run, I totally lost my capacity. Maybe it was the gasping for breath or my bruised insides killing me in pain with each foot pound, but I have been on no exercise since then and I really miss it. I had been cutting back...
  5. Have you tried any aged hard cheeses yet?
  6. This came on gradually for me after a period of eating gluten in prep for biopsy. At first I did not think too much about it. But I have pain in between my shoulder blades, tender to touch, ribs/chest and knee joints. Sometimes it feels like a dagger through my upper spine. Plus I get flu like aches now too.
  7. Thanks everyone. We have a pretty big cheese section at Wegmans. Also like the coconut spread but am missing option of butter.
  8. Trying to avoid dairy. Use coconut butter. But I read for some that aged cheeses contain little to no lactose. I would like to try it. Any brands folks trust to be gluten-free? What kinds of cheese would be good and which to stay away from?
  9. Hi George. I agree, you should discuss with your doctor. But before worrying too much, I am thinking back to my junior high/high school days and I remember a few guys basically returning after a summer vacation totally changed! So, you technically might be a bit on the later end, but by no means have you missed the puberty boat. Learn how to start making...
  10. Dr. Google seems to imply that an overall High IGA is usually associated with some kind of autoimmune process. Is there autoimmune stuff in your family?
  11. Agreed. I am starting to get pretty paranoid about touching surfaces at work and my boyfriends house. My poor hands are so dry from the washing. Lol. I had to sit at a crumb filled table at McDonalds recently on a long trip (brought my lunch) so my kid could play. I am considering my own microwave for my office. I do not take my food out...
  12. I am so sorry. How scary. I do know others get swollen lymphnodes. It was mentioned to me twice that mine might have been but no other doc found it and my labs were good. I have had night sweats for years as well. I hope they rush your appointment so you can get an answer. This is coming from someone who is totally freaked out herself so you are in good...
  13. I had an ultrasound in July which pointed to Hashimoto's but the antibody test was negative and the TSH levels are normal. I have since learned that only one antibody test was done and there are more. My doc at the time was just going to drop it but something did not feel right. I found myself an endo and he is going to repeat the thyroid ultrasound...
  14. I know it takes time to heal. My DGP IGA was only 32 (On a gluten-free diet) recently after a bout of D and a diagnosis of marked focal duodenitis. But it has been 6 weeks since my scope (gluten-free diet) and the pain/nausea is almost worse then it was. The "OMG I cannot function and hardly can walk across a parking garage" feeling is mostly gone,...
  15. I hear ya. I had to go off of payroll recently. I am sorry you are still not feeling well and not able to enjoy your old activities. I hope you can find a reason soon.
  16. Oh no. Have you had a follow up biopsy?
  17. Make sure one of the tests is DGP. Do you have a gallbladder?
  18. You have a bunch of the celiac genes? Which ones specifically.
  19. DGP IGA is the only test I have tested positive to. In 18 months it has been positive 4 times, negative twice. Not as high as yours though. I too was gluten-free for 8 months, did 6 weeks on gluten and a perfect biopsy. Because I am DQ2 positive and have a sibling with celiac I went on a gluten-free diet again after biopsy. Due to not having...
  20. Celiac can effect liver. But so can other things. Such as autoimmune disease. Are you on any supplements?
  21. Thank you. I will look into the allergy issue.
  22. I was unaware of the adrenal problems. I have a gland w/ calcification that was not calcified prior to a gluten challenge. Do you have a link to something showing this? Get your cortisol checked. Also, your levels could be kidney related. Did you also have your liver enzymes checked? Also, as others have explained, there are additional tests. Myself...
  23. Thank you. Ironically, I was in the hospital after an arrhythmia and potassium wand magnesium were fine. When they were taken a week later, they were lo due to the D. But they have been fine since (at least when tested).
  24. What symptoms Lead you to the doctor to begin with? go see an endocrinologist, IGA, and possibly another Primary Care. Bring the lab results with you. Even the normal ones. Do you take a lot of antacids?
