Now that was inspiring. I miss the post workout boost. Cannot wait to feel well enough to get back to it. Cstark, how low have you been sick? -
ARCHIVED Activities before health issues

I was working out 3-5 times a week, running mostly 10 weeks ago. The last 10 weeks nothing, the last 6 weeks I can just make it through the day. -
ARCHIVED red skin, pain, huge belly

Ah, well then no cutting! I have called the doc 3 times. No response. What do you mean by pancreas? They did my blood enzymes and they were normal. Pancreatic stool test was normal. CT scan was normal. -
Be up front about it on match.com or other sites (get a griupon for match) and maybe you will attract a fellow celiac.

ARCHIVED red skin, pain, huge belly
ironictruth replied to ironictruth's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you. I am eating very simple. No wine or aspirin though because it irritates it more. Plus my heart races like crazy with wine recently, which sucks cause I love it. Few processed foods and all are certified. I could not do one time per day though. I have only lost about 5 pounds. But I quit working out 10 weeks ago (ran 3-4 times per... -
ARCHIVED Why GI doctor said Gliad IGG positive doesn't mean anything?
ironictruth replied to vickyloveaimee's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
she needs to be eating gluten in order to have the testing done. My suggestion would be to get it done ASAP if you have her gluten free as it may still be positive. however the test does drop quicker than the other test Do.If there are any questions after that she could always resume but a gluten-containing diet. -
ARCHIVED Why GI doctor said Gliad IGG positive doesn't mean anything?
ironictruth replied to vickyloveaimee's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Are they using the old gliadin or the new deamidated version? I had a very weird situation recently where in the hospital the attending suspected gluten exposure and the DGP IGA came back weak positive. 2 weeks later my old GI doctor ran a panel using the old test and it came back negative. 18 hours later my new GI doctor did the blood draw and it... -

H. Pylori bacteria was negative. No Crohns, gallbladder remived in 1997. I thought of pancreas but they did a scan and bloodwork, all good. The new GI doc said there was no villi blunting (6 samples, no mention of bulb) but that the inflammation would be consistent with someone with celiac on a gluten-free diet. Since my antibody test came back positive,... -

I totally ended up getting Traditional Medicinals peppermint tea instead and am sold. -

I have duodenitis diagnosed late August. The protonix is supposed to be short term to help heal the gut. We should be tapering off in a month or so. The pain and nausea led to the scope last month and the protonix. It did seem like it got worse instead of better though for a month. But, my DGP IGA also went from weak to strong positive after two weeks... -
ARCHIVED Question regarding the blood-tests

DGP IGA is the only one on the panel that is positive for me. -
ARCHIVED Positive blood test and negative biopsy. Feeling confused!
ironictruth replied to Carmen30's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Stay on the diet. Strictly. I had a high risk gene, mild positive test, and negative biopsy last winter. I went gluten-free anyway but did not watch out for cross contamination. Now I have acute intestinal inflammation with pain/nausea, heart skips, thyroid swollen, adrenal gland calcified, neurological symptoms and a strong positive test last... -
Anyone used this? It says it is gluten free. GI doc suggested it for continued pain on right side. Looks like it is mainly peppermint oil.

I have a pain in my ear that is actually referred from my swollen thyroid. But my ears sometimes feel full, I think it is related to my brain pressure. Who checked it out? Primary doc or ENT? Were you glutened recently? Have you seen a neuro? We have celiac and MS in my family so I hit the MRI pretty quickly when the weird neurological stuff showed...

I get twitching, numbness, head pressure, visual stuff, eye pain... all sorts of weird neuro stuff.

Overwhelmed and unable to accept
ironictruth replied to egs1707's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
You mentioned the tight head. Yes, both my celiac sibling and I had head pressure. Mine was horrible last glutening with eye pain as well. Like someone put a vice around my temples. I swore it felt like a parasite infected my gut, thyroid and brain. It is going away mostly, still have it on and off a bit. My brother said his naturopath informed him... -
ARCHIVED heart related question
ironictruth replied to ironictruth's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thank you everyone! Good to know I am not alone with this. I am asking for a referral to a new cardio. Hopefully it will all go away the longer I am gluten-free. It started up in February/March after a gluten challenge and mostly vanished until July when I had a lot of shortness of breath. It absolutely was CRAZY just a few days after the glutening. I was... -
So my heart has been doing weird stuff post gluten challenge. Skips beats, arrhythmias, chest pain. It was getting a bit better then worse again in July. My cardiologist has done 2 stress tests, halter monitor, and we have not caught anything other then harmless pvc's. But I KNOW this is not right for my heart and it has gone wacky out of sync and...

ARCHIVED other food allergy testing

Any place you know of to find more info? Seems like I am still in so much pain/bloat, I am not even sure if I would pick the right 5 foods! -
ARCHIVED other food allergy testing
ironictruth posted a topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
So, LST my celiac sibling thinks I should see a naturopath to get additional food sensitivity tests. I think this is swell, but expensive for me. He had a panel done and was reacting to some foods he ate the most of. I have reached out to a local allergist and they do food testing but do not accept my insurance. I was going to make some more calls tomorrow... -

ARCHIVED Does anyone else have a burning and cramping sensation?
ironictruth replied to Gracey's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Oh, and as I mentioned in my own post on pain, xanax. I swear. I tried it just to deal with the occasional panic I had at weird scary symptoms and clueless doctors. I am not a fan of long term use. But I recently found that .25 mg seems to aid with the neuropathic pain. It does not go away, but it helps. -

I concur! I literally feel your pain as well. Like, at the moment, lol. Did you have an endo to see inflammation or damage? I am close to begging my GI for carafate or something to coat and protect. How about testing your antibodies to see if they are still rising? I read somewhere here rice milk may not be a good option. Folks here have also suggested... -
So ok, I get the pain/bloating thing, but it still feels so crazy. But my god, I look 6 months preggers after dinner and 4 months the rest of the time. How long will this last?! I have not gained any weight but have to hide me belly now. I can hardly breath! Omg, that does take me back to pregnancy. I had "acute marked focal duodenditis" a few...
