  1. That really stinks!
  2. Tonight I used Carol Fenster's Recipe for pizza crust and topped with Prego 3 Cheese, mozzerella, spinach, portabella mushrooms & tomatoes. It was amazing. Closest thing I have had to real pizza since going gluten-free. DS absolutely loved it and couldn't stop telling me so. It was fairly easy, definitely worth the small effort. I am sure that it...
  3. Here are my favorites from TJ: Chocolate Meringue Cookies gluten-free Gingersnaps Frozen Pancakes Frozen Waffles gluten-free French Rolls (in the bread area, not frozen) ~ I do freeze these after a day or so they last longer. gluten-free Granola Lara Bars, though they don't have a huge selection of flavors Brown Rice Pastas (not as good...
  4. When I was trying to make bagels following the recipe on the side of Pamela's Wheat Free Bread Mix, I also made a couple topped with sea salt and they tasted just like hot soft pretzels! So GOOD!! You could probably shape them into the pretzel shape too!

  6. I made this tonight....a friend from another forum (not a gluten-free one) posted it. It was awesome! Kids loved it. Served it with Edy's Slow Churned Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.
  7. Those look amazing!! I wish I had the patience! Maybe someday soon.
  8. Ooooh...those look great!!
  9. Oh yum!! I love risotto! Too bad I would be the only one who would eat that in our house! The rest of my fam won't touch zucchini.
  10. That really stinks! I was looking forward to trying those! I love the Leapin Lemur cereal...it was on sale at Giant Eagle here last week. I was going to buy some at WF the other day b/c DS and I both eat it, but it was $4.99 (OUCH!). Stinks b/c all the other Envirokidz stuff was on sale but that one! Stinkers!
  11. Yes, happens to me when I eat apples. I can get away with eating a slice or 2, but if I eat the whole thing, I get very bloated & crampy. Happens with bananas too. I have recently been having trouble with other fruits (peaches, cantaloupe & pears), but it may just be that I was eating too many (can't help it in the summer time). I have cut back...
  12. Dried fruit also bothers me. I can eat it in very small amounts. Fresh fruit has been bothering me lately too. It could be the amount I was eating (like 5 servings/day), but I love this season of the year for fruit and eat it all day long! I had to stop. I was so bloated & gassy and in pain. Yesterday I had no fruit...huge improvement. Today...
  13. Update....I made these today. I probably ended up making them more like dessert than anything else. They ended up tasting like a Kit Kat bar! OMG!!! They were TDF!!!! I used Rice Chex cereal (2 cups) and gluten-free Corn Chex (Health Valley brand 1 cup), 2 cups chocolate chips (probably should have used 1 cup gluten-free oats to make it a little healthier...
  14. Oooh....I am going to make these this week!! We have been looking for a good cereal/granola type bar!
  15. I was going to suggest the crockpot for the pulled pork too. I put a pork tenderloin in with 1.5 cups of vinegar and cook on low all day. Then I toss with some Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce and freeze in small portions. Great for quick meals. I also make Little Smokies with BBQ sauce for DS..he loves to take those to school in his thermos.
  16. Thanks for the warnings on the donuts. They are $7+ for a package here.
  17. OH Yum....I have been wanting to try the almond butter but it was $7.69 at the store!! OUCH!!! At least I know that it is worth it and may have to treat myself here soon. I eat PB every day, but there is no way I could to the AB at that price daily. My splurges: Kinnikinnick Donuts for DS Pamela's Wheat Free Bread..I buy it by the case for bread...
  18. Wow...thanks for the warning!
  19. Lisa, We must have been posting at the same time! LOL!
  20. Modified Food Starch will have to have any forbidden ingredients called out on the label. I have never seen barley in Modified Food Starch, only wheat. Wheat is one of the top 8 allergens that must be called out on a label by law. Usually MFS is derived from corn, wheat or potato. Natural flavors are more difficult. Barley malt and malt flavoring...
  21. I have been eating these bagels for 2+ years. Back in the winter of 2007, they became hard to find. I found out that they were having production issues and opening a new plant. 3-4 months later I found the bagels again and now they taste different and it is not a good different. I know they are the "new" ones b/c there is a sticker over the old nutrition...
  22. I have the Zojirushi and make Pamela's Amazing Wheat Free bread using the "Medium" pre-programmed setting. It rises twice and the total cycle takes about 3 - 3.5 hours. The bread comes out perfect every time.
  23. Thanks for your help! What is the reason for decreasing the fat, other than it being healthier? Just curious. I can't wait to try some more recipes like this now!
  24. I was having this problem with my HP latptop a short time ago. Mine would shut down when it felt like it, no matter what site I was on. A friend told me to go to the HP website to look for updates for BIOS. I did and updated mine and have not had it shut down once since then. HTH!
