ARCHIVED Frustrating endoscopy!
Victoria1234 replied to Sarahp5's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I've noticed lots of people on this board have had ok looking intestines, but the biopsy came back positive for damage. How many samples were taken? Ask to see the report. -
ARCHIVED Immunoglobulin A and Gliadin IGA high
Victoria1234 replied to EenieNeNe's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
You probably want to switch to coconut milk or almond milk products rather than use lactose free. Many of us had to avoid casein for 6 months to a year while our villi healed. -
ARCHIVED Are Gluten-Free Foods Misleading Consumers?
Victoria1234 replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
Seems like they are not fortifying them with vitamins, and using the least expensive route they can to make the maximum profit (i.e. Double or triple the price of their food counterpart.) at least that is what I am seeing with breads and cookies and pastas in the gluten-free aisle. Yes I'm sure some of their ingredients are in less demand, thus cost more... -
ARCHIVED Normal to do just biopsy and IgA test?
Victoria1234 replied to sddave's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Not sure, but the biopsy is the definitive end all be all sign you've got it. -
I'm sure it does vary. Beforehand I had terrible abdominal pains, C and dh. For about 2 years a crumb would bring it back. Now, basically nothing suggests a glutening except for a bit of a bathroom issue, and even that is something that just happens from time to time. That's one reason I have to be uber careful as I don't have a good signal!

ARCHIVED Magnesium citrate
Victoria1234 posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
So I'm sick of the C I keep getting and decided to get on the ball and try Ennis' suggestion of magnesium citrate. But I need to know a starting dosage, when to take it and how to take it (empty stomach, with food, 1x a day, 1 capsule of 100mg, etc).... I have an important job interview tomorrow morning so I don't want to blow up my whole system taking a... -

ARCHIVED Dr wants me tested for celiac
Victoria1234 replied to Rhiannon's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Just a quick FYI to say there are some great noodle substitutes and you will probably find a pizza that you don't mind either, if you end up with celiac. Good luck and make sure they run the whole celiac panel. I'm sure someone else will jump on to say which tests need to be performed. -
ARCHIVED Me again :) starch?
Victoria1234 replied to Fbmb's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease

ARCHIVED Lowest gluten mass produced beer?
Victoria1234 replied to BarryC's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks! the watermelon this year is especially good, isn't it? and I was just reading that Barry suspects he is celiac, not just gluten intolerant. So I shouldn't really have recommended that website in the first place.... and now knowing the test strips don't really work with, is it liquid? I'm sorry. barry here's the last time you asked about... -

Victoria1234 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Lowest gluten mass produced beer?
Victoria1234 replied to BarryC's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Try this blog: Open Original Shared Link it has beers tested with strips, and a non celiac , gluten intolerant I believe he said, like you, talking about his experiences. I have no idea how accurate it is, but there are some replies, including celiacs, you can read. but I would surely rely on a celiac from this site to tell you what's up for real... -
ARCHIVED 7 Months in, still having "off" days :(
Victoria1234 replied to Fbmb's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
You have helped me tremendously. I always come on here hoping to read a new reply by you and excited when I find one, you are a terrific person and you are very worthwhile. I'm sorry you had a rotten day with the market. I would buy a ton from you if I lived there. -
This happened to me, and I thought it was worms. I almost died with worry. Went to the doc with a sample and he said sometimes stuff just sloughs off and there wasn't anything to be concerned about.

ARCHIVED Internal surgical stitches
Victoria1234 replied to Robi's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Read this Open Original Shared Link sounds like severe side effects from lidocaine. You're supposed to call your doc about it, but it sounds like he doesn't care. Call him back again and tell him you fit the severe side effects and ask what can he do to help you. also call the FDA and report it when you are feeling better. -
