  1. So I have to admit, I am not a fan of Giant stores, I am a Wegmans girl. Anyway Giant is back on my side though. I saw Bell and Evans chicken nuggets and chicken tenders there today, lots of boxes. They are also decently priced. It is great, now I don't have to worry about getting to Dillsburg, the chicken nuggets are right down the street. I found them...
  2. Hi Nicole, I work at Hershey Med, at the Penn State Cancer Institute. I will ask around some of my nurses tomorrow. I actually was diagnosed through my family doctor who is also at the medical center. She knows alot about celiac. Are you heading down the med center at all? If you have any questions feel free to pm me, I can give you parking tips and...
  3. Believe I understand how you feel, and I know everyone else has been there at some point. I too love the fairs/carnivals. Every year when we go to the beach, I had to give up Mack's pizza in Wildwood and that is the best pizza. Aww the funnel cakes too. It is a rough time, and even though you feel so much better there are times you just wish you could eat...
  4. When we took a roadtrip to the beach a few weeks back I was the only one who would not eat fast food. I took Glutino pretzels Peanut Butter Applesauce--single serves *there are so many flavors these days* Nut thins *also a few flavors* string cheese lunch wraps are always good too. I had a candy stash
  5. well at least you admit it was dumb to eat the Twix Some people may not have a reaction at all, or one that is noticable. You are still doing damage even though you may not know it or feel it. Kind of like laying out in the hot sun for hours at a time with no sun screen on, you may not burn if you have that type of skin but you could be putting yourself...
  6. I prefer to make my own tacos at home, so much better and you get to have as many toppings as you want.
  7. From what I read on here, there has been lots of great outings to disney, it sounds as if they are very celiac friendly. Have fun on your vacation.
  8. That sounds very good....I wish I had some right now, do you think you can magically make some appear on my desk
  9. I am not sure if this will help you, depending on your area, I was at Wegmans yesterday and their brand of fudge bars are marked gluten free. I was excited but since I travel to shop at the store I didn't have a cooler to carry them home.
  10. I work at Penn State, just not main campus, I work for the Medical Center in Hershey! Woo-hoo!!!! GO PSU!!!!!!
  11. OMG Angie, that is hilarious!!!! Kids are so much fun :)
  12. Happy Birthday!!!!!
  13. LOL!!! well, hope he enjoyed it. My kitty steals my stuff alot too.
  14. Lynne thanks for your thoughts, they have helped. It is funny I just got back from DC today and I just cleaned out my suitcase and was going through the neat things I got for free at the exhibits portion. It did bring me back to this talk about the stripper conference. Thanks!!! Amanda
  15. Glad to hear you had a good time, sounds like it was a very tasty meal.
  16. I get Breyers when I go to Giant, but I get the Wegmans brand when in their store, they put gluten free right on their products, I really enjoy the peanut butter cup ice cream.
  17. I could not locate the menu either.
  18. It sounds like it might be alot of fun, think of all the neat people we would meet too. People who have celiac and understand what we are going through and the struggles you have when you first start out.
  19. Heck no! cheating is not worth it in my honest opinion. I hated being sick before and why would I do something that may make me sick. I got a life to live, and I have to make up for those years I was too sick to enjoy my life. I missed out on a lot and I am not about to miss anything if I can help it.
  20. We might be going, and I know my gluten free buddy and her husband are also interested. It would be nice to meet some people there.
  21. Hi Judy!!! I am so sorry I forgot to respond, here's the details. Cape May was great, it was right back to work and the hospital has been nuts so I didn't even get a chance to reply in that thread. The weather was great and I even was in the ocean. It rained while we were on the boardwalk. I was bitten by a large hermit crab while on the boardwalk and...
  22. The strippers conference made me laugh too, just because I am leaving tomorrow for Washington Dc for an oncology conference. There are always free things like pens, note pads, and bags and stuff. Drug companies and things hand them out....I wonder what kind of free things you get at the strippers conferences, lap dances...poles...
  23. It will affect you, think of this, you may not wash your hands and then eat something else....gluten got into your mouth even if you did not think it did. It may cause a rash, some people do not have intestional symptoms but get rash/hives/dry itchy skin. Bottom line it is not a good idea.
  24. Yes it is, I have to tell you, my friend from the lab is in labor as we speak. It is her first and she is having a girl, naming it Aubrey! We are so happy for her. How is your little one doing? How is Tory doing, the weather is finally summer :)
