  1. Momma Goose, I was a few months into the gluten-free diet when I made the same mistake. I was looking for the word wheat and when I didnt see it I got all excited...Until I googled it..once I got sick You live you learn.
  2. Hi Ed, Welcome to the site I am from PA. Close to MD though. Did you ever try anything from the grainless baker. Very good!!!
  3. It is a great place to feel welcome when you think no one else understands. I am thankful for this board and the great people I have met here. Some are almost in my backyard and some are across the US and some are even in Europe and other distant countries.
  4. Also you want to make sure Art supplies are ok for her to use, some paints and clay's are questionable. Play-dough is a No.
  5. It does sound like this is going to be a very hard job to go back to, considering the bathroom is quite a distance away and you would be strapped for time when you did go to use it. If there is a way to wait until the following school year to go back to work that might give you a few more months to feel better. I hope things start to work out for you...
  6. I didn't know about Gina either...wow....I would be POed too if I got sent home and Sanjaya who up until last night was the joke was still there. I am not sure about Lakisha. Phil's fan base is not too big either, every week he is on the bottom so I am leaning toward him as well.. But you never know.
  7. You have a point...she could be very large and be trying to squeeze into those outfits....which many people do and they obviously do not look in a mirror before they leave the house. She is very spunky! I hope next week is a little more fun.
  8. Vote-off...hmm tough call. Haley might still be getting votes from hormone raging males due to her revealing clothing...even Simon commented that that was her best quality. Phil was ok, Chris R is not my favorite....I am stumped. Anyone else?
  9. Blake is cute too. They only ever show his friends in the audience, I wonder where his family is?

  11. One of the first things that confused me when I went gluten free was Corn flakes....they seem so simple who would have ever thought they would contain malt? Same with Rice Krispies.
  12. I am very happy to hjear Alex is on the road to recovery. I wish her well, she has had a rough time. She is lucky to have someone as sweet as you caring for her. I will keep her in my prayers for a speedy recovery.
  13. Sanjaya and Blake were the best two out there tonight....Haley needs to put some clothes on!!!!!!

CHOP is a very nice hospital. I have heard many good things about them. I hear their childrens oncology unit is also very good.

  17. I hope you find a group close to you, then you can have the face to face contact with people in your situation. We are happy to have you here and this is one big support group and you can attend in any attire you wish, so PJ's and slippers are allowed. Ask all the questions you need or share information. We are always learning. It's nice to meet you.
  18. Reglan is given a lot during chemotherapy, as is Compazine. I probably didn't spell it right.
  19. I too hope you win. It's nice to see someone out there showing the world about celiac!!!
  20. It depends person to person, Mine is actually within hours, well the stomach ache and "D" part. There are other things which pop up a few days later, acne or rashes and itching, strange aches. I hope your girls feel better soon.
  21. This is one of the hardest things to do, thankfully my family has been very good about it, but I see how some friends and my coworkers act sometimes. I would sit your boyfriend down and explain that the longer you keep letting gluten enter your body, you are at risk for getting cancer and other very painful diseases. You are going to feel so much better...
  22. How many of us get sick and we know we didn't gluten ourselves. Well today I noticed one of my coworkers come over to our little "kitchenette." It is a mini-fridge with a microwave on top. No counter space or anything. Well, I see her digging around in the fridge. I notice her sandwich sitting on my absent coworkers desk, just laying there not wrapped, no...
  23. Laura is right, the things you would never guess to will contain gluten. Like stamps or envelopes. Shampoos, Conditioners, make-up. Plus if the roomies are gluten-free you could be getting their crumbs. 4-months and your body is still healing, so maybe your BM's are just trying to normalize. It took me awhile. Good Luck!
  24. That's news to me...strange...So who pays for the phone call then?
  25. 1) More Energy 2) Happiness 3) Not worrying I was dying 4) Not as stressed because I am not missing work 5) The Grainless Baker 6) My hair doesn't fall out anymore in chunks 7) I am not as b%$@#y 8) Healthier eating for sure 9) slowly learning to cook, enjoying it, and the end result is pretty good 10) Moving forward in life and not being...
