  1. Where is the Rain Forest Cafe?
  2. Hi and Welcome to the board. When dealing with your friends it can be very emotional, If you have a few close friends who you stick with on a daily basis, try to educate them on what you have and the foods you can no longer eat. If you have been sick for awhile, explain that by no longer eating those foods you will start feeling better and be back to...
  3. I got started on Craigslist a few weeks ago, very neat place to sell/buy things in your local area. Well I showed it to the girl in the cubie next to me and then we showed it to another coworker. I got them addicted. When we get bored we go shopping!
  4. I stopped using Lay (never was a big fan) when I went gluten free. I stayed away from junkfood for quite awhile. When I do needs chips or salty treats, I go with UTZ who puts gluten free on their bag or with Wegmans brand because they have the gluten free "G".
  5. Jerry, Sorry to hear about your brother, it is very frustrating. Those are very cute kiddie's in your avatar.
  6. Is everyone still enjoying Dancing with the Stars? I only got to see the end last night I was working overtime. I did see Heather dance and she is who I am rooting for.
  7. It's Idol Night!!!!!
  8. Hmm, not sure about SKOR bars. I know Caromello bars are and that makes me happy. I might stop eating them though, I am not going to buy Hershey's chocolate, not after what they are doing to that town.
  9. I believe they are ok, it is mainly sugar. They are almost like Pixie Sticks. Lik-a-stik, bringing back kiddie memories.
  10. I was happy again. I really sank into a sad slump before I found out. I had more energy, and my hair stopped falling out in clumps in the shower. Talk about relief!!!! I started to miss less work, and for me that was a very big plus. Overall, I got my life back.
  11. I don't have any children but I can tell you I myself had a hard time concentrating on assignments and work things before going gluten free. Now I notice if I get glutened I tend to have a very hard time focusing on anything, even if it is a TV show. I have a daydreaming mind to begin with but if I get glutened I might as well be on my own hammock somewhere...
  12. I am actually now only starting to go back to dining out. It is usually at Outback or a sit down place. I usually don't go for the fast food. When I am going out to dinner I want to eat something real good and have it brought to me. This is how little we get out to dinner, I want to be waited on. I think what has helped me come out of my shell a little...
  13. Wow, I didn't know Hardee's were still around. All of the ones in our area went ou a few years ago. CC is a big risk. Sorry their website is not very helpful. Some of us on here should get together and make our own grab and go dining facility. We would always have company!!!
  14. The hospital I work at uses an electronic system and allergies and other special alerts go into the electronic chart. This way the kitchen staff is aware of the food it needs to accomodate the patient. They do gluten free diets here. They order foods from EnerG alot. I have spent enough time in the hospital as a patient to have to get this menu. I have...
  15. Try Grainless Baker www.grainlessbaker.com They are in PA, but have stores in surrounding states and I know NJ is one of them. I am getting married in October 07 too!!! Good Luck, have you picked a date yet?
  16. Happy Birthday Lynne!!!! Enjoy your special day!
  17. Sounds very good...I love cordon blue.....
  18. When I left the lab 2 years ago I left because I hated it...Hated it because it was a dead end job, the raises were horrible, and a few other reasons. I took a job elsewhere in the hospital and I told them I was taking the new job because I knew I had more potential and I needed the new challenge. The job I left has a high turnover rate and the supervisor...
  19. It's good to hear you had a great day. Hopefully our good weather will help since she will get out more too.
  20. I liked Phil in the begining and then he started to bore me but the last two weeks he has been back on game and I too was surprised he was on bottom. The show is getting weird. I only 1/2 paid attention last night.
  21. Well, Sanjaya is sticking around. I was surprised he was not even in the bottom 3.
  22. I gained once going gluten free. I was always at 139 my whole life, then when I was sick I dropped to 110. Well, I went in for an appointment in November and the scale is above 139...by a few lbs...I am too ashamed to say how many but I can give you a hint it is greater than the number of all the fingers on both my hands. I have been trying to get into a...
  23. I too have not seen him. I hope he is doing ok. Celiac is a big struggle on its on, and now he had his girlfriend and she has health issues, that is hard. I have said a prayer for him. I hope he comes around soon.
  24. Ryan I am sorry to hear Alex is in the hospital. I would keep bringing her food from home. Is there a way you can see that a special dietitary notice goes to the kitchen? I know that is how it works at my hospital. I see we accomodate all diets here. Hope she is feeling better soon.
