ARCHIVED Looks Like Pa Might Finally Get Snow!
blueeyedmanda replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Good Morning fellow PA friends, What a messy day we have to look forward to. I got a call at 6:15 this morning saying not to come in on time if I was going to venture out at all. It had iced all night so half our windows you cannot see out of, they are glazed over. John still went to work, I could not sink it into his head that it was not worth it to go... -

I know, what you mean about electricity, we have gas heat/cooking here, but the therm is electric so no heat if we lose elect. Supposedly you can manually light the gas stove (electric ignite) but I am very paranoid about doing that. Ang-I am trying to convince John to stay in tomorrow, but he works in Shipping/Rec. I don't think they will have a lot of... -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Ever Tried Dietary Specialties Products?
blueeyedmanda replied to ElizabethN's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I saw this site and have not tried it, the price was what has me still debating, seems like so much and if it is not good you are out almost a $100 buck, and that is hard for me to lose. Hope we do hear back. I have made my own stuffed shells and they were great. If you want I can dig up the recipe. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Pantry Triple Brownie Mix
blueeyedmanda posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Has anyone else had a hard time finding this mix? I don't want to order it online if I don't have to, I noticed I cannot find it in stores at all anymore. I know Gluten Free Source in Dillsburg has it, but that is a drive for me (45 minutes). I used to get it at Giant but it seems like they carry every GFP mix but that one. I ended up buying the Pamela's... -

Yep ice here now. One of my coworkers lives in Manheim and she just called and asked if I thought I would make it in tomorrow and she said it is getting worse so she is unsure if she will be in, she had two cars wreck in front of her on 283 on her way home at 2:30, she said she has never been so scared. -
ARCHIVED Just Found Out...
blueeyedmanda replied to newinNashville's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Welcome to the Board, I know this is a very hard time, you have been sick but the good news is you just found out what was going wrong and the even better news is you don't need Meds to control celiac you just have to follow the diet. Your body will repair itself in time and you will be your old self again! It is amazing where gluten can sneak in but don... -
ARCHIVED Looks Like Pa Might Finally Get Snow!
blueeyedmanda replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I am starting to feel better, it's "my time" and I think between John having another round of the stomach bug, IVF, and every womans favorite time, it just hit me today. I am so glad Tory got outside today! She will have fun tomorrow, I am hoping the ice doesn't knock out the power , so I already took a shower and cleaned up the kitchen. We got... -
I use my glue stick at work to seal things. Everyone else keeps glue sticks for so long, I use them so much we always are ordering them.

blueeyedmanda replied to Mtndog's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

ARCHIVED Outer Banks Gluten Free
blueeyedmanda replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
The beach is so romantic, John proposed to me on the Beach in Atlantic City, he had orginally planned on doing at the top of the Abescon Lighthouse (I love lighthouses, another reason for going to the Outer Banks) Thank you for all your help! We are hoping to rent a beach house so we can cook a lot at the house plus we would like to bring out kitty along... -
I am narrowing down my honeymoon choices, and I am would love to finally get to the Outer Banks, has anyone been to the Outer Banks after going gluten free? If so, could you share? Thanks

Picking a theme is a great start, it can also help on the cost, you can get plain pink/blue colored napkins, plates, etc to match. I really liked the potato bar idea, it is a healthy idea and everyone can make their own potato which allows for everyone to be happy. Open Original Shared Link This site looks nice and helpful. Well, I am getting to enjoy the snow today since I am home from work sick on the couch...but it does look pretty. I am curled under the blanket and I am looking out at the houses on the hill covered in snow. I am not looking forward to the ice coming though. Still looks pretty. -

JerseyAngel- I know you will appreciate this, I was in Wegmans over the weekend, in Downingtown since we had taken a trip to Philly to pick something I purchased on Craigslist, the store was a mad house, and you know how their stores are always a zoo. Well you could barely get near the dairy areas and the deli. The bread looked picked through. That didn... -

On 97.3 the river this morning it said 6-12 inches. Too bad, John has an "essential" job at the hospital or we would stay home, but why should I lose some PTO if he is going in. I will get to enjoy it on Tuesday night though, movie night!!!! -
